?Chapter 1352:
“Then… maybe Ralphy cane,” Davina said reluctantly, still unsure.
“Alright, I’ll call him now,” Christina said, reaching for her phone. “And Davina… promise me, if anything feels off, you’ll call. Don’t let your thoughts spiral, okay?”
“I know,” Davina whispered with a faint smile, wrapping her arms around Christina like a child clinging to warmth.
Christina chuckled softly at the gesture and, without dy, dialed Ralphy’s number.
Meanwhile, Ralphy was restlessly pacing back and forth in a nearby vi, a strange sense of unease twisting in his chest.
He couldn’t shake the worry that something might have happened to Davina. Just as he reached for his phone to call her, Christina’s name shed on the screen.
“What’s going on? Is Davina okay?” Ralphy blurted the moment he picked up, his toneced with worry.
“I have to step out for a bit. Can youe by and keep an eye on Davina for me?” Christina said calmly.
Ralphy hesitated for half a second, then jumped at the chance. “Of course! I’ll head over right now!”
He ended the call and bolted out the door, clutching his phone. There was a barely contained excitement in his steps.
But as he reached the vi’s courtyard, the thrill in his chest faltered. He suddenly realized something important.
Had Christina even told Davina he wasing? What if Davina got upset? The thought hit him like a ssh of cold water.
His mind ran wild. He could already see her ring at him, demanding he leave, while he fumbled through apologies and half-baked excuses, only to get tossed out anyway.
He froze at the doorstep, his foot hanging midair before pulling back. What if she got so angry she never wanted to see him again?
As he stood there debating with himself, a familiar voice called out from inside. “What are you standing there for? Come on in already!”
???????? ???????? ???????????? at galn??v??????.?????
Christina set her suitcase down with a soft thud and turned toward the doorway, only to find Ralphy hovering awkwardly just outside.
“Oh—uh, hi!” he blurted, then hurried inside, nearly tripping over his own feet in the process.
He stumbled forward, arms iling for bnce, and somehow managed to steady himself before he hit the floor. It was far from graceful.
Both Christina and Davina froze, eyes wide with surprise, while Ralphy forced out a nervous chuckle. His hands rubbed together instinctively, as if that could smooth away his embarrassment.
Normally, Ralphy was the kind of man who could charm anyone with ease. Words came to him like second nature—smooth, confident, practiced. But the moment he stood in front of Davina, all that eloquence vanished. Sometimes his mind wentpletely nk, leaving him speechless. Other times, it flooded with too many words, and he would fumble to pick the right one—usually failing miserably.
