Chapter 1349

    ?Chapter 1349:

She knew she could never reach Christina’s level—it would be like trying to grasp the stars themselves.

Ophelia’s remark drewughter all around, and the air filled with light-hearted joy.

The family’s warmth deepened, their hearts united in happiness and love.

    In a luxurious neighborhood.

“Christina.” Davina sat at the edge of Christina’s bed, watching her fold clothes into her suitcase.

“Yes?” Christina looked up, pausing mid-motion.

“You’re really noting with me for a few days?”

She had decided to move into the Vaughn family estate for a while, to finally spend time with her real family. Returning now only to pack, she had hoped Davina mighte along. But Davina had chosen otherwise.

“No, I’ll stay for a couple of days and then head back to be with my mom,” Davina replied with a gentle smile.

Her tone softened as she went on, “Christina, you know what? I think my mom came back to see me. She used to love butterflies when she was alive. And today, one kept circling around me. When I stretched out my hand, itnded right on my finger! It didn’t move for the longest time, so I asked if it was my mom. I said, ‘If it’s you, p your wings twice,’ and it really did! Do you think my mom misses me so much that she turned into a butterfly to visit me?”

Christina stopped what she was doing and looked at Davina. Then she reached out, gently ruffling Davina’s hair with a faint smile.

“I think you’re right. It must’ve been your mom. She missed you too much to stay away.”

Neither of them were the kind to believe in superstitions.

But Christina understood that logic wasn’t what Davina needed. It wasn’t about spirits or signs, it was about longing. Davina’s heart was aching for her mother, and belief was the onlyfort she had left to cling to.

People needed something to hold on to, a fragile belief or a smallfort to keep them steady when the world fell apart.

The pain of losing someone dear was a weight too heavy for most to bear; for many, it shattered their sense of reality, leaving them in sudden shock or teetering on the edge of breakdown.

It had been a long time since Davina’s mother had passed away. On the surface, Davina appearedposed, as though the wounds had finally healed.

But Christina knew better. Beneath that calm fa?ade, she could still feel the lingering ache in Davina’s heart—the quiet emptiness she tried to hide.

If things continued this way, that grief might slowly eat away at her spirit. Lost in memories, she would sink deeper into despair until she forgot how to keep moving forward.

The man Terence had once hired to perform rituals for Davina’s mother’s spirit—Christina had already made sure he was behind bars.
