Chapter 1324

    ?Chapter 1324:

How—how did Katy know they’d nned to pawn her off to Darian? The three froze, shock written on their faces, too terrified to speak.

They dared not question her, afraid she might end them on the spot.

“Katy, don’t listen to that bitch Davina. She’s trying to stir things up and get us to turn on each other. Don’t fall for her,” Nelly croaked, fighting for breath. “We would never betray you; we love you so much. Please—listen to me, sweetheart, let us go…”

The other two nodded frantically, praying Katy would untie them.

“Mom, the poison will kick in again soon. Are you sure you don’t want the antidote?” Katy’s eyes were fixed on the dagger, a cold, wicked sh alive in her gaze.

Nelly flinched without meaning to, the nightly torment wing at her like a living nightmare.

Instinctively, she asked, “You know how to cure the poison? How do you know?”

“It was Davina who told me,” Katy replied, a smile that made Nelly’s skin crawl curving her lips.

“You can’t trust that bitch’s words, Katy. She’s definitely trying to trick you,” Nelly warned at once.

“Whether she tricks me or not, we’ll find out soon enough,” Katy said, wearing that same cold smile.

Nelly tilted her head, curiosity edged with dread. “How do you n to find out?”

Terence and Conrad, bound beside Nelly, watched too, their interest edged with unease at whatever method might undo the toxin.

A heavy sense of foreboding settled over them all for reasons none of them could name.

“Davina said that if you take the heart from someone who has already drunk the antidote and eat it, the poison can be cured,” Katy exined, eyeing the sharp knife in her hand.

Those words froze Terence and Conrad in ce, terror locking their limbs. So that was why she held that de—she meant to cut out their hearts.

“Mmmph! Mmmph!” Terence and Conrad thrashed their heads, trying to scream but only managing muffled sounds. Their faces drained of color and their bodies went cold with fear.

Nelly’s face turned ashen as she stared at Katy with a hollow, stunned look.

Conrad, beside her, shook with agitation, his eyes bloodshot as he continued to make stifled noises.

He wanted Nelly to beg Katy for mercy, to spare him.

“Mom… let’s survive together. We won’t have to suffer this anymore,” Katy murmured, fixing Nelly with that intent stare.

A chill ran through Nelly as she met Katy’s gaze.
