Chapter 1229

    ?Chapter 1229:

Herst name was Morris. Terence’s was Murray. How could they be father and daughter?

Maybe an illegitimate kid—those stories weren’t unheard of.

Davina’s lips curved into a cold smile, her eyes narrowing.

“Did you know Terence only climbed up by marrying into the Morris family? The Murrays breedpdogs like you—stupid and full of themselves.”

The guard’s face reddened. “Say that again, I dare you.”

“I’ll say it as many times as I want. You’re nothing but apdog.”

“Go ahead, try me if you’re brave enough,” Davina taunted.

The guard was so furious he wanted to rush out and fight, but another guard grabbed him, holding him back.

“Hey, stop! Mr. Murray will have our heads if we open the gate at will. We should call them first—what if she really is his daughter?” the second guard said.

They had joined the staff after the ce switched hands and had heard the rumors about Terence’s rise through marriage. Otherwise, he’d still be a nobody.

Rumor was, Terence had a daughter with his first wife who was sent away to the countryside as a kid. Nobody knew what happened to her.

    Most thought she was dead.

“You wait here. I’ll go report it. If she’s lying, I’ll make her regret it!” the first guard growled and stomped off toward the house.

Davina’s lips curled into a thin, cold smile. Her eyes never left thevish vi.

She was back, and she would be their worst nightmare.

Inside the living room, Terence’s current wife, Nelly Murray, lounged on the sofa.

    ?????????? ?????????????? ???? ??????????ν?????????????

“Terence, I’m not letting my daughter Katy marry into that Lloyd family. They might be one of Jasgow’s top houses, but Darian Lloyd is brutal. Plenty of women have ended up dead because of him. I won’t let Katy walk into that mess.”

Wearing a sapphire-blue gown and a string of expensive pearls, Nelly still didn’t carry the elegance of real nobility.

Terence rubbed his temples, a deep frown etched into his face. He sounded exhausted, beaten down.

“I don’t know who’s screwing us over, but we’re bleeding money fast. Cash flow is a mess again. Someone in the family has to marry for the investment. That’s the only way we get a bailout, stabilize things, and climb out of this hole… Since you don’t want Katy to do it, do you expect our son to step up instead?”

Nelly went pale. Her heart clenched at the thought—both kids were hers. How could she pick one to throw into the fire?

But deep down, she knew it woulde down to Katy if she had to pick one.
