?Chapter 1149:
“Please,” Aylin repeated, her face calm and unreadable.
Joselyn’s fury simmered, her eyes burning with resentment as she red at Christina.
If she hadn’t been desperate for Christina’s return to deal with Ynda, she would never have stooped to this.
“Mrs. Dawson, are you really waiting to be dragged out by security?” Christina asked, arching a brow with a smile that held no warmth.
Fear shot through Joselyn, and she quickly turned away. She knew Christina wasn’t bluffing—this woman would do exactly what she threatened.
Christina’s smile faded the moment Joselyn left, her expression hardening. For Joselyn to give up such arge sum, there had to be a scheme behind it. Did Joselyn really take her for a fool? When she had given her loyalty to the Dawson family, they had treated her like dirt. Now that she kept her distance, Joselyn came fawning. Christina didn’t believe for a second that it was out of kindness.
Not long after Joselyn was gone, Dn returned to the vi.
“Chrissie.”
His voice reached her before he did.
“Why are you back?” Christina asked, surprise flickering in her eyes. “Is everything at thepany alright?”
“Thepany’s quiet,” Dn said, his gaze sweeping over her, his tone gentler now. “But are you alright? Are you hurt?”
“What injury could I possibly have?” Christina replied with a hint of amusement.
“I heard Joselyn came to trouble you…” Dn exhaled, relieved she was unharmed.
“Did you forget I’m a boxer? Joselyn can’t bully me. One punch from me and she’d be in the hospital.” Christina chuckled, raising her fist yfully.
“That’s my girl.” Dn reached out, brushing her nose with his finger.<fn7355> This update is avable on find{n}ovel</fn7355>
Christina wrapped her arms around him, burying her face in his chest, basking in his warmth and strength. She rarely took the initiative in moments like this, and Dn couldn’t stop the smile tugging at his lips. He realized Christina was opening up more these days, and he felt himself drawing closer to her heart.

He held her gently yet firmly, and they lingered in each other’s arms, their quiet joy needing no words.
On Day Nine.
It was the final day, and Christina had never imagined Brendon would endure this long. She had assumed he might give up by a week.
Ynda was even more astonished that Brendon had managed to persist. His joints and muscles were worn out; with every move he made, the pain was excruciating. Though she had never suffered such agony herself, she understood it had to be unbearable.
