    ?Chapter 1113:

Meanwhile, in the study, the lights glowed bright. Christina sat at the desk, immersed in the documents she was handling for the Scott Group. She had no idea that Dny awake, quietly forming his n to “recover.”

Dn rose from the bed and began pacing across the room. When he estimated the time was right, he slipped out in search of Christina. She should have finished her work by now.

Reaching the study, he found the door locked and lifted his hand to knock.

From inside came Christina’s cautious, slightly puzzled voice. “Who is it?”

A slight smile yed on Dn’s lips, but his voice carried a touch of grievance. “It’s me, Chrissie… I missed you. Please, open the door.”

Moments after his words lingered in the air, Christina opened the door. She quickly pulled Dn inside, stealing a nce out into the hallway. At this hour, no one was around. Her eyes returned to him. He looked as if he had only just woken, his gaze still hazy with sleep.

“Why are you awake?” Christina asked.

“You weren’t there, so I woke up,” Dn answered, his clear eyes locked on hers.<fn8743> ?????? ???? Find[?]ovel</fn8743>

“Sit for a while. When I’m finished, we’ll go back to sleep,” Christina said softly.

“All right.” Dn sat obediently on the sofa and waited.

As she bent over her work, his gaze followed her every move, steady yet lined with quiet concern.

Half an hour passed before Christina finally set her pen aside. When she looked up, she met Dn’s unbroken stare. Throughout the wait, he had remained still, watching her in silence.

“Chrissie, are you finished?” Dn asked with innocent anticipation, rising and moving toward her.

“Yes, I’m finished,” Christina replied with a gentleugh.

“Let’s go to bed.” Dn reached for her hand with delicate care, as though she were the most precious thing he possessed.

Heat rose to Christina’s cheeks, and a smile touched her lips. As his fingersced with hers, she had the feeling that he had never truly be muddled. Christina had told Dn to keep a stern face and distance himself whenever others were near. He had done so wlessly. Just like now—when they stepped out of the study, his expression cooled in an instant.

If not for the slight softening of his aurapared to before, Christina might have believed he had already recovered.

Back in the bedroom, Dn settled on the bed and patted the space beside him. “Chrissie, sleep here.”

Christina sighed with a blend of affection and resignation before lying down next to him. “Sleep now,” she murmured.

Dn stretched out his arms, looking at her with childlike expectation. “Chrissie, I want a hug before I sleep.”

Meeting his pure gaze, Christina hesitated only briefly before opening her arms. He pulled her close, and they held each other.
