?Chapter 1099:
A shadow of annoyance crossed Dn’s features, disappointment written clearly on his face.
“I understand. You can go now,” Christina managed to say, struggling to keep her voice steady.
The moment the servant disappeared, Christina sprang to her feet, frantically smoothing down her hair and straightening her rumpled clothing. When she noticed Dn was still lying there motionless, seemingly in no hurry to move, she quickly pulled him upright and spoke in a gentle, coaxing tone. “Dn, how about we y a fun game together?”
“That sounds wonderful,” Dn replied, his face lighting up with genuine enthusiasm.
“Let’s y hide-and-seek. You can go upstairs and find the perfect hiding spot,” Christina suggested.
Dn nodded eagerly. “Alright! Chrissie, close your eyes first.”
“Of course, I’m closing them right now.” Christina smiled and obediently shut her eyes.
The instant her eyelids fluttered closed, Dn leaned forward and nted a quick, sweet kiss on her cheek.
When she opened her eyes again, Dn was already bounding away like an excited child, practically glowing with happiness.
Christina stood frozen in ce,pletely stunned by what had just happened. She watched him disappear around the corner and then slowly raised her hand to touch the spot where his lips had been. A softugh escaped her, and her entire face was illuminated by a radiant, blissful smile.
After taking a moment to collect herself, Christina turned to see who hade to visit her.
In the living room sat Lauretta.
“What brings you here today?” Christina asked evenly.
Lauretta handed Christina an elegant box. “I wanted to thank you properly. Here’s a list of thank-you gifts. There’s a limited-edition Lamborghini, a luxury apartment in Lorbridge worth over eighty million, a thirty-million-dor bracelet, and a fifty-million-dor check.”
Christina epted the impressive gift without any hesitation. “How is your father recovering?” she inquired with genuine concern.
“The surgery was very sessful. He just needs to rest properly now. King is truly remarkable,” Lauretta said with deep appreciation.
“Indeed. Why didn’t your sone with you?” Christina changed the topic.
“He’s fighting off a cold, so I thought it was better to leave him at home. I’ll definitely bring him to visit you next time,” Lauretta exined with a warm smile.
“That would be lovely. It’s been far too long since Ist saw him,” Christina replied with matching warmth.<fndea6> Th?s chapter is updated by find?novel</fndea6>
“Absolutely,” Lauretta agreed as she rose gracefully from her chair. “I should head back now. Perhaps we can get together again soon.”
“I’d like that. Let me walk you out.” Christina stood as well, escorting Lauretta toward the front door.
