Chapter 1090:
Katie snapped immediately, “How could you not know? You just don’t want to tell us!”
Katie figured that since Lauretta had managed to get King to operate on her father, Lauretta had to know how to reach King.
“Katie,” Brendon scolded, his expression darkening. He turned at once to Lauretta, sensing her displeasure, and offered a quick apology. “I’m sorry. My sister is only worried about her future sister-inw’s health. Please forgive her rudeness.”<fna02d> For more chapters visit Find?Novel</fna02d>
“Ms. Gomez, please don’t be upset with Katie,” Ynda interjected softly. “It’s all because of me. I ask for your understanding, and I apologize as well.”
Gazing at Ynda, Lauretta sneered, her wordsced with contempt, “Hah! Since you know it’s all because of you, why don’t you just get out of my sight?”
Ynda, Katie, and Brendon hadn’t expected such blunt dismissal, and the awkwardness on their faces deepened into difort.
“Ms. Gomez, have we wronged you somehow? Your hostility toward us feels too ring,” Brendon said, confusion slipping into his tone. When had they ever offended Lauretta? Her unfriendliness seemed unwarranted.
“I just find you all unpleasant. Is that a problem?” Lauretta replied, her expression brimming with disdain. To her, these three were nothing but troublemakers—and they had once ganged up against Christina. There was no chance she would show them kindness.
Brendon, Ynda, and Katie fell silent, the air between them thick with tension. “Could you at least try to help us reach King? We’re willing to pay any price for it,” Brendon persisted. Finding King had proven almost impossible. Despite all his searching, he hade up with nothing.
“Are you serious? Everyone knows King is like a ghost. What makes you think I could track King down?” Lauretta retorted coldly.
“But your father’s surgery proves you can contact King, doesn’t it?” Brendon asked.
“You’ve got it all wrong. King reached out to us. My father was fortunate to be chosen by King. You might as well pray for that kind of luck to be bestowed upon you,” Lauretta shot back.

Her eyes flicked to Ynda, and a mockingugh slipped past her lips as she saw through Ynda’s acting. “You Dawsons are such fools.” With that, Lauretta turned on her heel and walked away.
“Hey! You—” Katie started, fury spilling into her voice, but Brendon grabbed her arm before she could spew more. “Hold your tongue,” he warned.
Katie seethed. “Brendon, she looked down on us. Why should we just endure it?”
“Remember where we are. This is Lorbridge. She’s the eldest daughter of the Gomez family and Dominic’s wife. Crossing her won’t end well for us,” Brendon reminded her sharply.
At his words, Katie fell silent. With no way to reach King, the three of them had no choice but to leave Lorbridge and return to Dorfield empty-handed.
The next evening, Christina had barely stepped out of the mall restroom when she brushed past a janitor. Something instantly felt off.
