Chapter 1074

    ?Chapter 1074:

“Where I’m going is none of your concern,” Christina answered, her tone like ice.

Her sudden defiance caught the menpletely off guard. Hadn’t she just been ttering them moments ago? How could she shift her demeanor so effortlessly? Their irritation flickered beneath the surface, but they swallowed it down, not wanting to cause a scene at this wedding.

“Miss Jones, about that billion-dor project we mentioned earlier—surely you’re interested in joining us?” Judd pressed, dangling the lure with confidence.

But Christina was far from naive. She saw through his intentions. “I’m not interested in the so-called project you’re speaking of,” she replied coolly, her voice devoid of emotion.

“Are you truly not interested? If you join us, we can even offer you arger share,” Judd insisted, trying once more to reel her in.

“Such a grand project is best left in your capable hands,” Christina said, her toneced with quiet sarcasm.

They missed the edge in her words, mistaking it instead for hesitation.

“Miss Jones, we are truly sincere,” a young man interjected, handing her a ss of red wine. “Drink this, and then we can continue our discussion. If funds are an issue, you need only contribute your time and effort. We won’t deny you your share of the benefits.”

“Yes, Miss Jones,” Judd added quickly, pretending earnestness. “We won’t deceive you.”

“You don’t have to put in any money—just your effort. Think of it as building friendship,” another man chimed in smoothly.

They pressed harder, each of them determined to make her ept the drink. Christina, however, could tell without even trying that the wine had beenced.

Such a cheap ploy wasughable to her.

“I’ll think about it,” Christina said with a faint smirk, taking the ss.

“Come then. Let’s toast together,” Judd dered, raising his own ss, his eyes glinting with calction.

The men exchanged sly looks among themselves before lifting their sses toward Christina, waiting for her to follow.

As they hoped, Christina raised her ss and tapped it lightly against theirs. “Cheers.”

Under their watchful eyes, Christina slowly lifted the ss toward her lips. But just as the rim brushed close to her red lips, she halted.

Before anyone could ask what was wrong, she flicked her wrist and sent the wine sshing across them, drenching their faces.

“You lunatic! Have you lost your mind?” Judd spat, the mask of civility slipping away in an instant.

“Are you looking for trouble?” a young man roared, his hand shooting up to strike her.

Christina met him head-on, seizing his wrist with a cold smile curving her lips. He thrashed for a moment before realizing he couldn’t shake her grip, his face flushing with rage. “Let go of me, you vile woman!” he shouted.
