Chapter 1054

    ?Chapter 1054:

    “You’re the best too,”.

Christina replied with a soft smile. “Now close your eyes and get some rest.”

    “Okay!”.

Dn chirped, closing his eyes obediently. Yet, his hand did not release hers—if anything, his grip grew tighter.

Time passed slowly, and Christina fought to keep her eyelids from closing. She was on the edge of sleep herself. Listening to Dn’s even, steady breathing, she whispered, “Dn?”

There was no reply; he seemed to be fast asleep. She tried to ease her hand free, but his fingers clung stubbornly, unwilling to let her go.

She hesitated, not wanting to wake him by using force.

Just as she began prying his hand open with careful patience, Dn suddenly tugged her forward with startling strength. In the next instant, she found herself lying in the firm circle of his embrace.

Christina nced up in surprise at Dn, only to find that he still appeared to be asleep. He muttered something incoherent in his dreams and instinctively pulled her closer, his arm tightening around her like a child clutching a beloved toy.

Christina’s heart thundered in her chest, and she tried to sit up.

At the faintest shift of her body, Dn’s brows furrowed, a shadow of difort crossing his face.

She hesitated for a moment before giving in, surrendering herself to the warmth of his embrace. Her cheek rested against the solid wall of his chest, and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat thudded softly in her ear.

Before she could even notice the quickening of his pulse, he shifted onto his side, their faces suddenly only inches apart. His arm tightened around her waist, a living barrier of flesh and bone that held her captive.

Christina raised her eyes, studying his face, still serene in the depths of sleep.

His features were sharply cut, framed by darkshes that cast fragile shadows against his cheeks. His nose was straight and noble, and his lips were faintly pursed, as though holding back unspoken truths. Even in slumber, his beauty remained untarnished—his jawline, softened by sleep, still bore the effortless maism of something carved by divine hands.

An involuntary smile curved her lips as her fingertip traced the arc of his brow with the gentlest of touches, as though charting sacred territory with reverence and care.

Her gaze slid downward, drawn helplessly to his slightly parted lips, and a tremor caught in her throat as she swallowed, the simple act betraying the sudden dryness of her mouth.

A forbidden hunger stirred within her, dark and coiled. Her body betrayed her with a rush of saliva, an involuntary response to a desire she dared not name.

Abruptly, she turned her eyes away, forcing them toward the blur of some distant point in the room. She knew that if she allowed herself another moment staring at him, she would lose the battle and press her lips against his. Her heart thudded violently as though an unseen force was dragging her toward him. A primal longing surged inside her, pulling her closer with a relentless, maic power, inch by perilous inch.<fn410e> Original content can be found at F?ndNovel</fn410e>
