?Chapter 1022:
Just as he debated whether to go in search of her, voices drifted from a nearby group of passersby.
“I heard there was a terrible crash near the VIP passage—the scene was gruesome.”
“What happened? Was anyone badly hurt?”
“They said the reckless driver died instantly. The car’s front was crushed.”
“Someone in the other car was gravely injured and rushed to the hospital.”
“So awful! Was it revenge? Or someoneshing out at the world?”
“No one knows—it might’ve just been an ident.”
“An ident? No, the word is that someone was aiming for Skybreaker’s life…”
“What? Could the driver be a gambler who lost everything on the bets? Don’t tell me the injured one was Skybreaker herself! That would be disastrous, right after she revealed her identity!”
At those words, Brendon’s chest tightened as if seized by a cruel hand. Could it be that Christina was the one gravely hurt?
Brendon rushed forward and stopped one of the men in his tracks.
The man frowned, eyeing Brendon with suspicion, and asked warily, “What do you want?”
d in nothing but a hospital gown, Brendon looked to everyone around like an escaped patient from a mental ward.
“You just said someone was after Skybreaker’s life. Is the injured one really her?”.
Brendon pressed urgently.
The man shook his head. “I’m not certain. All I know is that someone was badly hurt.”
“Do you know which hospital Skybreaker was taken to?”.
Brendon asked, his voice tight with desperation.
Realizing Brendon didn’t behave like a madman, the man rxed and offered him the advice kindly.

The man’s only source of information had been a wealthy guy, a friend of a friend. Without that connection, he wouldn’t have heard anything at all. But even that wealthy guycked enough influence to know the entire story. Still, something of this scale would surely hit the news, and by then, they would know which hospital Skybreaker had been taken to.
“Thank you,”.
Brendon said with genuine gratitude before turning and hurrying off. He could no longer wait. Not knowing which hospital Christina had been sent to left him no choice but to search them one by one.
After a moment’s thought, Brendon decided to start with the very hospital where he himself had been treated. It was the best in Lorbridge, and chances were high that Christina had been brought there.
In the hospital, Dn had already been wheeled into the emergency room. Out in the corridor, Chloe’s eyes were swollen red from endless tears.
“Don’t worry. Your brother will be alright,”.
Christina murmured, patting Chloe’s back tofort her.
