?Chapter 1020:
Christina’s eyes widened in recognition—the ordinary-looking SUV was none other than Dn’s.
“Stop! Stop now!”.
she cried, panic choking her voice as her heart twisted with dread. Her mind was flooded with the image of Dn’s car turning over, her anxiety rising to a crescendo.
Terrence gave no response. He pressed on, elerating, while Christina’s face grew cold. Through clenched teeth, she spat, “Stop right now, or you’ll regret it!”
Underneath his ck helmet, Terrence’s expression hardened. His piercing eyes fell on her grim face. He realized that if he kept going, disaster would follow. He knew she would fight him with everything she had to make him stop—and he could not stomach the thought of her being hurt.
His gaze dropped, weighed down by a flicker of loss that ate away at his burning possessiveness.
Easing the throttle, Terrence pulled into a sharp turn. His voice came out light, almost yful. “Alright then, sweetheart. Since you’re that determined to return, I’ll take you back.”
But beneath that teasing tone, his disappointment ran deep, hidden where no one could see. When he lifted his gaze again, it carried a sharpened edge—resolute, yet touched with hostility.
The motorcycle skidded to a stop near the wreckage. Christina leapt off without hesitation, racing toward the overturned SUV.<fn61f0> Discover more novels at find[?]ovel</fn61f0>
Terrence remained astride the bike, his smile gone, his eyes dark as they followed her back. He waited for her to nce over her shoulder at him—just once. But she never did. To her, he might as well not exist.
A bitter pang surged within Terrence, his possessiveness twisting into something harsher, burning with both longing and hostility. If Dn disappeared, everything he wanted would fall into his hands—her heart included.
Terrence’s lips curved into a crooked smile, wicked yetced with bitterness. His fists clenched tightly at his sides.
Earlier, when Dn saw Christina in danger, instinct had propelled him forward.
His SUV had cut across the road, colliding head-on with the speeding car.
The instant the two cars collided, a deafening bang shattered his senses. Pain ripped through his body as a relentless buzzing consumed his ears. Beyond that droning hum, the world fell utterly silent.
Through the haze, his vision blurred. He could only make out that Christina was carried away on the motorcycle. A faint smile tugged at his bloodied lips. Good. She was safe. That was enough for him. As long as she lived unscathed, his heart could rest.
Only one regret lingered—he might never hear her answer and never grow old by her side. How he longed to know her choice, to hear whether there was even the smallest ce for him in her heart. He no longer hoped for much—just a corner of her affection would do. No, even a single confession that she once cared for him would be enough.
But that chance seemed to slip out of his clutch. The relentless buzzing pressed on his skull, sharp and unbearable, as though it would split his eardrums apart. It was so loud.
