Chapter 552: Chapter 551: The Chime of Midnight (1)

This was the familiar melody of a piano piece, mellifluous and enchanting, and although there was nothing amiss with him ying it at the moment, she couldn’t help but remember... Back in high school, when boys and girls were experiencing the first stirrings of affection, longing for love, filled with anticipation and fantasies.
Everyone hoped to meet that special someone, to hold hands with them, and to engage in a pure and beautiful romance.
Ling Chuxia was usually a bit slow when it came to matters of the heart, but that didn’t mean shecked fantasies. Which girl didn’t harbor romantic dreams?
Every time she apanied Shi Che during his piano practice in that sunny music room, she would prop her cheeks in her palms, herrge eyes watching Shi Che, unable to prevent a look of intoxication and obsession spreading across her face. She would think to herself that if one day, her prince charming were to confess his love to her, doing so elegantly on the piano with a beautiful piece of music, what a romantic thing that would be.
Lost in thought, she couldn’t help curving her lips into a smile, her eyes brimming with blissful fantasies. Unnoticed by Chuxia, Shi Che stopped ying and his dark gaze fell on her, his voice clear yet imbued with a trace of gentleness, "Chuxia, what are you thinking about?"
Ling Chuxia came back to her senses, first smiling at Shi Che then standing up and walking towards him. Her dark, yful eyes whirled around before she spoke, "Che, I want to ask you a question."
Shi Che looked at her and nodded, "Ask."
Ling Chuxia’s eyes curved with her smile, her voice soft, "Well, if it’s you, and you liked a girl and wanted to confess to her, what song would you y for her?"
Shi Che had not expected Ling Chuxia to ask such a question suddenly, taken aback, he hesitated to answer. Meanwhile, Chuxia narrowed her eyes thoughtfully before saying, "Would it be ’Canon’? I think that’s a ssic choice for confessions, isn’t it? It’s beautiful and meaningful, with a melody that lingers on and touches the heart."
Shi Che’s dark eyes subtly lifted, his gaze resting on Ling Chuxia’s fair face. Sunlight streamed in through the window, casting warm yellow rays upon her, making her shine within that halo. Observing her longing gaze, his heart felt as if it was melting into water, incredibly soft.
His lips curled slightly upward, yet he slowly shook his head, "No, I wouldn’t y Canon."
"Why not?" Ling Chuxia asked, her eyes widening with curiosity.
Shi Che smiled and spoke lightly, "Because too many people choose Canon, so I wouldn’t y that."
"Oh, I see, you always like to be different, don’t you? After all, our Young Master Shi always stands out from the crowd." Ling Chuxia covered her mouth as sheughed, not missing a chance to tease him.
Shi Che watched herughing face, feeling that no sunshine could outshine the brilliance of her smile. Actually, the reason he wouldn’t y Canon was not just to be different, but because...
Rumor had it, when a boy yed ’Canon’ for a girl, that boy was destined to experience a heart-wrenchingly beautiful love with her.
But what he desired wasn’t heart-wrenching beauty, butpletion and happiness.
After Ling Chuxiaughed for a good while, she asked again, out of curiosity, "Then which song would you y?"
What song, indeed?
Shi Che’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, a glimmer of light slowly trailing across the depths of his gaze. He looked up, the image of Ling Chuxia’s small silhouette reflected in his dark eyes. His thin lips parted, and he spoke each word seriously, "If it were me, I would choose ’Dream Wedding’."
