Chapter 1323: Chapter 1336

"What do you n to do?"
Chu Ge asked curiously.
Jian Chunqiu chuckled lightly, "What else can we do? Of course, we choose not to eat."
After speaking, he turned around and addressed his fellowpanions, "Brothers, we share the same roots, yet now we find ourselves bullied by these aliens. I know there’s resentment in all our hearts, but what we need now more than ever is unity and solidarity."
Jian Chunqiu had some degree of prestige among these people, and after he spoke, they responded in agreement, "That’s right, Man Feng just wants to see us make fools of ourselves. We can’t let him seed! It’s just one meal, we won’t starve from skipping it!"
"Exactly! One meal won’t starve us! We’re not eating!"
"Yeah! We’re not eating! Let’s see what he can do to us!"
Everyone chimed in, each person filled with indignation and fervor.
However, there were some who were less convinced, showing hesitation on their faces, their thoughts clearly written on them.
Chu Ge noticed their reluctance, pondered for a moment, and then spoke, "Actually, if you’re not willing to do this, you can choose to eat. But I’m uncertain if what Man Feng said is true. What if there’s no antidote? Or what if it’s all poison? Have you considered the consequences? His goal is simple: he wants us to turn on each other, to grow apart!"
"But if we don’t eat, can you guarantee that we’ll slowly regain our martial arts?" one person questioned.
Chu Ge narrowed his eyes, studying that person, a strong and sturdy individual, but his gaze held a curious and inscrutable look.
"ck Bear, what do you mean by that? Are you questioning Elder Jian and Mr. Chu’s decision?"
Someone who held great respect for Jian Chunqiu heard ck Bear’s question and immediately expressed displeasure, especially since this person was familiar with Chu Ge’s capabilities and voiced it upon hearing ck Bear’s doubts.
ck Bear, feeling somewhat stifled, said, "It’s not that I don’t believe them. I’m just suspicious. What if none of us eat, and no one recovers? In the end, don’t we be their prey, at their mercy?"
"Ultimately, it’s fear of death!"
Someone scoffed at him, "If you’re so scared, go eat, and after that, don’t stand with us. Act like we’re not in the same group!"
ck Bear, already feeling guilty, became angry upon hearing this, "How can you speak like that? I’m just asking, I’m not really going to do it. You’re all not eating, so what does it mean if I alone eat?"
ck Bear muttered quietly to himself but didn’t say anything more in the end.
The others merely red at him before turning their attention to Jian Chunqiu, saying, "Elder Jian, we’re all listening to you. If you say we won’t eat, we won’t eat."
"Yes! Anyone who wants to eat can go ahead, don’t hold back! But after eating, we’re no longer brothers!"
The person speaking deliberately nced at ck Bear, the look suggesting the words were aimed specifically at him.
ck Bear stood there silently, feeling caught in between and out of ce.
Yet Gao Weijie had tasked him with a mission that was still iplete. He knew there were allies among Man Feng’s people. Initially, he hoped they would connect while he was on dutyst night, but for some reason, that never happened. ck Bear waited half the night in vain.
Up to now, ck Bear still doesn’t know who his ally is.
Everyone has decided, standing together in unity, to refrain from eating.
Jian Chunqiu stepped forward, looking piercingly at Man Feng, and shouted, "Man Feng, it seems you’ll be disappointed. We won’t touch your offerings, take them away."
Man Feng stood there, arms crossed, expecting a drama to unfold. He knew humans are inherently selfish; no one would sacrifice their life for something precious. But he forgot, what he imagined was merely his own perspective, not representative of others’.
Some are indeed selfish, but blocking that selfishness now is morality. They’re all like locusts tied to a single rope and brothers from the same root. Aside from ck Bear, even if others wanted to eat, they wouldn’t truly act on it now.
Man Feng’s eyes tightened suddenly. He looked at Jian Chunqiu and asked, "What did you say?"
"I don’t want to repeat myself, Man Feng. Stop your tricks; those tactics won’t work on us."
Man Feng snorted lightly. He genuinely didn’t expect such resilience from them, looking at their proud expressions, he sneered internally. It remains to be seen if their current pride will hold till noon. There’s no water or food here, not even a way out; they want to leave but can’t.
Behind him, Wang suddenly stepped forward and said to Man Feng, "Boss, why don’t we take this chance and kill them now? Save us troubleter."
"Old Wang, seems you’ve treated my words as mere background noise again, haven’t you?"
Man Feng huffed in displeasure, "Stop those thoughts. If I find out you’re acting without orders, be prepared to face my wrath!"
Old Wang’s heart skipped a beat, instinctively turning to nce at Little Guizi, his eyes questioning whether he was betrayed.
Little Guizi shrunk under Old Wang’s stare, hastily shook his head and waved his hands, as if to say he hadn’t spoken up. In such circumstances, he could only pretend not to notice, keeping silent. Man Feng was in charge, but Old Wang treated him well too, how could he possibly betray Old Wang?
Only then did Old Wang rx slightly, sighing, "Boss, I understand your thoughts, but you saw; they won’t take the bait. Must you wait until they’re killing each other before acting?"
Man Feng turned to look at him, "I’ve told you, I have my ns; don’t need your interference!"
Old Wang pressed his lips tightly; this wasn’t interference, he just wanted to quickly deal with them andplete the transaction for a nice sum.
He didn’t have the leisure to keep wasting time with Chu Ge and these people.
Yet theseints remained his alone, never voiced before Man Feng.
"Boss, now they refuse to eat, what shall we do?"
Another underling stepped forward, curious, "Did you really put half antidote in there?"
He didn’t believe his boss would be so kind-hearted.
Man Feng turned to look at him, a faint smile tugged at his lips, "You’re overthinking; there’s no antidote, all are poisons."
A pity, Jian Chunqiu and the others didn’t fall for it, his concoctions now wasted.
"Even if you don’t eat now, it’s fine; I’lle back at noon to deliver it again."
