Chapter 1301 - 1314

Chapter 1301: Chapter 1314

At this moment, on the other side.

Because of the rush for filming, Han Wanwan secretly snuck out of the hospital to catch up with the shooting. Fortunately, her scenes didn’t require intense action, but those high heels nearly took half her life.

The filming location was set at Huashang Hotel, which was entirely sealed off to ensure filming proceeded without outside interference.

In the lobby of the seven-star Huashang Hotel, a poster three people tall stood in the center like a guardian at the gate.

Han Wanwan was dressed in a in white gown, wearing seven-inch high heels, stepping step by step on the red carpet, and each step brought a pang to her heart.

Especially when she saw therge poster, where a man was intimately holding a woman’s waist, gazing lovingly into her eyes, both exchanging gleaming smiles under the sunshine.

"Wanwan," Qi Yunfeng, dressed in a bright red cheongsam, swayed over to her, with a high-footed goblet in hand.

Han Wanwan nced at her indifferently and stopped walking, nodding in response.

"Oh, Wanwan, today is Zhaoxue’s engagement day, why are you dressed like this?" Qi Yunfeng yfully scolded, "Here, it’s so hot outside, have a drink to quench your thirst."

Upon hearing the word "engagement," Han Wanwan visibly shivered. Yes, today was Zhaoxue’s engagement day, and the so-called fiancé was her boyfriend with whom she had broken up less than three days ago.

Her hand clutched the mini crossbody bag tightly, having little energy or desire to y pretend intimacy with her hypocritical stepmother.

"Yes." Han Wanwan epted the goblet, her mind entirely upied by the word "engagement," not noticing the sharp look that shed in Qi Yunfeng’s eyes as she drained the liquid inside.

Han Wanwan furrowed her brow, then began to cough violently; this was not water, but wine!

She suspiciously looked at Qi Yunfeng, unhappily saying, "This is wine, not water."

"Ah, my memory! Never mind, let’s go. I’ll take you to the lounge to freshen up. Your clothes are all wet."

Then she proactively stepped forward to support her, "Come, let’s go change clothes."

Han Wanwan cast a quick nce at her, realizing that she was being overly friendly?

Maybe she was afraid of her ruining her daughter’s event? Han Wanwan thought it was somewhatughable, coldly huffing in her heart.

Qi Yunfeng led Han Wanwan to the lounge on the third floor.

The event should have stopped here, but by the time they reached the door Han Wanwan realized there were no filming cameras around.

She was about to turn back to ask what was going on, but suddenly a force pushed her from behind, causing her to stumble and fall on the floor as the door mmed shut behind her.

Han Wanwan rubbed her backside as she stood up, inhaling sharply; the push was really forceful.

Simultaneously, a chill ran down her spine, realizing she had been set up.

Despite the pain, she stood up to twist the doorknob; it wouldn’t turn. She twisted again but got no response, so she banged on the door, only to hear Qi Yunfeng’s voice outside saying, "Han Wanwan, I’ve heard you’re famous, that your work attracts high ratings, but poprity has consequences. Someone wants to get at you, don’t me me."

"Just wait here patiently. After everything is over, I’ll let you out."

Hearing the footsteps fading away, Han Wanwan stopped struggling. The drink she just consumed was strong liquor, likely spiked with something.

At this moment, her whole body started feeling light and swaying.

Han Wanwan felt curiosity and doubt creeping in; why didn’t any of the directors or staff notice during filming? Could they have been bribed too?

But just who wanted to target her?

Han Wanwan attempted to take out her phone to make a call but found it missing.

A whileter, she began feeling the temperature in the room steadily rising, making her whole body ufortable. She waved her hand in front of her face, but the faint wind made little difference.

Her chest started to feel tight and her face flushed, attempting to stand, but after only a couple of steps, she copsed to the floor again.

She had no strength, and everything before her became increasingly blurry.

She vaguely heard footsteps approaching from afar, which soon halted at the door.

As the door opened, a breeze blew in, clearing Han Wanwan’s mind slightly. She arduously lifted her eyelids, witnessing a pair of tailor-made Veilisr Italian shoesing into view. Looking up, she saw straight legs enhanced by well-tailored suit trousers, butcked the strength to see the person’s face, faintingpletely.

The person paused, not expecting to see someone lying in the lounge, a person behind him immediately squatted in front of Han Wanwan, feeling for a breath against her nose.

"She’s still breathing." Mu Bingtong nervously helped her off the ground, allowing Chu Ge to see her face clearly.

"Is it her?" Chu Ge was surprised.

"Do you know her?" Mu Bingtong asked curiously.

Chu Ge nodded, "We have met once. She should be in the hospital, though. What’s she doing here?"

Mu Bingtong shook her head, "She’s burning up. You should treat her quickly."

Chu Ge crouched down to examine her, realizing she’d been drugged.

"I’ll take her over to the sofa."

With that, Chu Ge lifted her horizontally to carry her towards the sofa.

Han Wanwan only felt like she was leaning against arge ice block, letting out afortable whimper, the restlessness inside her too hot to resist moving closer.

She clung onto Chu Ge’s body fully.

Chu Ge frowned deeply, his cool hand gripping her wrist, forcibly pulling it down. Yet Han Wanwan clung like a vine, unwilling to let go.

Lowering his eyes, watching Han Wanwan burrowing into his embrace, her long and denseshes covered his amber eyes, hiding his thoughts.

Suddenly, a pair of scorching lips nted on his chest clumsily, like pecking, with hot breaths brushing against him. Her hands on his back also started to act restlessly.

Every action conveyed the message: she really needed him now.

Mu Bingtong didn’t mind and was also concerned about Han Wanwan’s condition, "Chu Ge, she seems to be in great difort. Please help her quickly."

Thankfully they came over because of some business, otherwise, Han Wanwan’s consequences would have been dire.

    "How is she?"

    Mu Bingtong asked worriedly.

Chu Ge infused some True Qi into Han Wanwan’s body, expelling all the poison from her system.

    Gradually, Han Wanwan’splexion improved slightly.
