Chapter 1268: Chapter 1221

The suffocating oppression made Chu Ge instinctively clutch his chest; he wanted to open his eyes, but no matter how hard he tried, it was to no avail.
After a while, Chu Ge finally calmed down a bit. He slowly opened his eyes, looking around dazedly.
The surroundings were so familiar, yet at this moment they felt so strange, giving him an unprecedented sense of emptiness.
This feeling was not good at all.
The night outside the window was still deep, and Chu Ge picked up his phone to check the time — it was only three o’clock in the early morning, still early, but he had lost all desire to sleep.
In his mind, the images from his dream were so clear. He raised his hand to touch his chest; the pain in that area lingered.
The girl in the dream, and his other self in another world.
This aroused some curiosity in Chu Ge.
Did his other self in that world really like that girl so much?
Chu Ge couldn’t figure it out. He took out his phone to check; there were no texts or calls from Mu Bingtong on the screen. The interactions between them were always so nd, each busy with their own affairs, asionally sending a message to say good morning or good night.
He didn’t understand the feeling of loving someone to the extreme, yet in the dream it was crystal clear.
This feeling gave him an unprecedented sense of strangeness, and simultaneously he felt a strong aversion, rejecting this kind of emotion. He always felt that if this feeling were to persist, it would lead him to lose his sanitypletely.
For a whole hour, Chu Ge was pondering these matters, but the more he thought, the more chaotic his mind became. In the end, unable to prevent himself from dwelling on these thoughts, he sat down to meditate.
Finally, after a while, he calmed his mind.
In the short term, there was no news from Zun Di or Gao Weijie, so with nothing else to do, Chu Ge stayed at the Gambling Stone Field.
Chu Ge noticed that Lin Dong was acting strangely today, always absent-minded with his actions.
"Lin Dong, what are you doing?" Chu Ge couldn’t stand it anymore; Lin Dong, this guy, actually holding a dirty cloth to wipe the stones.
Lin Dong came back to his senses, realizing what he was doing, hastily apologized, "Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to."
Chu Ge looked at him, puzzled, and asked, "What’s wrong with you? You seem so distracted."
Lin Dong sighed lightly and shook his head, "I’m fine, Mr. Chu. I apologize; I’ll go clean the stones again."
"Forget it, let it sit here and let them handle itter. Come over here; let’s have a chat."
Lin Dong had always been an optimistic and bright person, never reckless in his actions. To say nothing is wrong, he definitely wouldn’t believe.
Facing Chu Ge’s questioning, Lin Dong sighed helplessly, "Mr. Chu, recently, I’ve always felt strange, some memories that don’t belong to me surged out, always making me feel a tad irritable. It’s a feeling I’ve never had before, and I don’t know what’s going on."
Indeed, many people have experienced such situations.
"At first, I thought I had some kind of illness. I went to the hospital to check, but there was no issue at all. I wanted to focus my attention through cultivation, but it still didn’t work."
Lin Dong got more and more annoyed as he spoke; such a feeling really displeased him.
Chu Ge sighed, "Actually, it’s not just you facing such a situation; I do as well, and others too."
Lin Dong looked at Chu Ge in shock, "What’s the meaning of this?"
Lin Dong was puzzled.
"Because a time disturbance has urred, the memories we’ve gained are all actions done by our other selves in another space-time."
Listening to Chu Ge speak like this, Lin Dong suddenly felt it quite fantastical.
"In other words, does this world really have another world?" Lin Dong asked, full of curiosity.
Chu Ge nodded but then thought about it again, feeling that this exnation wasn’t quite right. He gently shook his head and said, "You can’t say it that way; it’s better considered parallel worlds, co-existing."
Lin Dong nodded with realization, looking at Chu Ge with some confusion and asked again, "Then, Mr. Chu, have you recently had this feeling? This inexplicably vexing feeling of suddenly gaining so many memories that don’t belong?"
Chu Ge nodded, "Yes, recently I’ve had many memories that don’t belong to me. It makes me feel terrible, but there’s no solution; it’ll resolve with time."
"It’ll resolve with time?" Lin Dong stared at Chu Ge, confused.
"This matter isplex; I’ll tell you about itter. Don’t burden yourself with this; let things unfold naturally."
Chu Ge raised a hand and patted Lin Dong’s shoulder; Lin Dong nodded woodenly and hummed a sound.
After talking with Lin Dong, Lin Dong went to work, and Chu Ge stood by the window, gazing at the streets outside. There weren’t many vehicles passing by, nor pedestrians, all hurried in their pace. He stood by the window, unsure what he was contemting.
After a while, the phone rang. He nced at it, seeing it was Mu Bingtong calling.
"Hello," Chu Ge answered.
"Are you busy?"
A gentle voice floated from the receiver, like a feather brushing against Chu Ge’s heart. Chu Ge shook his head lightly, "No, not busy. What’s up?"
Mu Bingtong chuckled, "Nothing, just suddenly wanted to call you."
Chu Ge coughed lightly, "You miss me?"
Originally, Mu Bingtong was very shy; hearing Chu Ge’s deep voice, her cheeks instantly flushed. Luckily, Chu Ge wasn’t here, otherwise the embarrassment would be unbearable.
Chu Ge waited for a long time without hearing Mu Bingtong’s response. He thought about that person in the dream, thought about that pain, and unexpectedly felt a sense of guilt towards her.
He paused for a moment and said to Mu Bingtong, "I miss you."
Mu Bingtong paused on the other end of the phone, her heart seemed full for a moment. After a while, she softly replied, "Hmm, I miss you too."
Then followed silent mutual presence. Though they didn’t say much, the call remained ongoing, as neither wanted to end the conversation prematurely.
If not for Jian Chunqiu suddenlying over, he would have continued the call.
Ending the call, Jian Chunqiu smiled at Chu Ge, saying, "Did I interrupt something good?"
Chu Ge coughed lightly, "Uncle Jian, don’t tease me. Why did youe over suddenly? Anything up?"
Jian Chunqiu nodded, "Yes, there’s something, but it’s not a big deal."
"What do you mean?" Chu Ge asked curiously.
Jian Chunqiu smiled at Chu Ge, "I feel this time disturbance is a good thing for you."
