Chapter 1214: Chapter 1226

Nangong Man Sha didn’te to pick up Chu Ge in person; she had other things to attend to, so she just sent a dedicated driver to fetch him.
After Chu Ge got in the car, the driver first politely greeted Chu Ge before starting the car towards their destination.
The driver took Chu Ge to a tailored shop, and respectfully said to him, "Mr. Chu, Miss Man Sha has arranged everything here. Please just give your name inside."
Nangong Man Sha had mentioned to Chu Ge in advance that he needed to dress up a bit. Although he had his own suits, Nangong Man Sha said those did not match the gown she’s wearing tonight.
Chu Ge got out of the car and entered the shop. The interior wasvishly decorated, with three or so attendants standing at the front desk chatting andughing about something.
They nced at Chu Ge when he came in but didn’t pay him any attention.
Chu Ge didn’t mind and walked inside. This was a high-end men’s custom clothing store. From the clothes hanging in the transparent cabs, Chu Ge could tell the prices were not cheap.
Chu Ge wandered around the shop, but no one came forward to greet him.
Chu Ge decided to head directly to the front desk and was about to speak to them.
One of them saw Chu Ge approaching, her expression darkening slightly, "We don’t have what you need here."
Although her tone was unfriendly, it was at least somewhat polite.
Chu Ge was slightly taken aback, "I’m not here to buy anything."
As soon as he spoke, their expressions became even more disdainful.
Seeing they had no intention of addressing him, Chu Ge understood somewhat. Everything here was custom-made and expensive, while today he was only wearing casual clothes, which together cost at most three figures.
They obviously categorized him as someone who couldn’t afford anything.
"Who’s in charge here?"
Chu Ge asked, not intending toin but merely wanting to exin his purpose.
Yet they treated Chu Ge as someone looking for trouble, "Even if you find our manager, it’s useless. Can you afford the clothes here?"
"Exactly, ing in dressed like that and wanting to browse. We’re being polite to you; if it were someone else, they’d have kicked you out already!"
Chu Ge coldly looked at them, "Is this how you treat your customers?"
"Oh, is this guy trying to lecture us?"
"Sir, dressed like that, what exactly do you intend to buy? Any item here easily costs tens of thousands; can you afford it?"
"Don’t buy if you can’t afford it, and dirty our goods; we’ll be the ones punished!"
"Indeed, if you’re not buying anything, hurry up and leave; don’t stand at the door blocking other customers."
"Someone might think our shop has a low threshold, letting anyone in."
Chu Ge cast a deep nce at them and didn’t say anything more, silently exiting the shop as the dedicated driver parked and approached.
Seeing Chu Gee out without changing or styling, he was momentarily stunned and approached with confusion, "Mr. Chu, why did you leave directly?"
Chu Ge smiled slightly and said, "They didn’t want to serve me."
Upon hearing this, the driver was somewhat displeased, rubbed his hands, and said, "Mr. Chu, please wait a moment, I’ll go find them right away."
With that, the driver went straight inside.
The people at the front desk were stillughing at Chu Ge when they saw someone rushing in and were startled. Upon recognizing who it was, they immediately stood up and politely said, "Manager Zhang, what brings you here?"
The person referred to as Manager Zhang sternly pointed at them and said, "From today onwards, you are fired!"
The sudden bad news left them bewildered.
One of them asked aggrievedly, "Manager Zhang, did we do something wrong? Why are you firing us?"
"Yes, Manager Zhang, if there’s something we didn’t do well, you could point it out. Dismissing us outright seems excessive."
Manager Zhang was furious, his cheeks flushed, "Are you not aware of what you’ve just done? I need employees who treat everyone equally, not those who view others through tinted sses!"
He yelled at them sternly.
They looked at Manager Zhang puzzled.
Soon they thought of something and quickly cast fearful looks behind Manager Zhang.
Chu Ge leisurely strolled in, and then they saw Manager Zhang approach with a smile and said, "Mr. Chu, I’m sorry, I’ve just punished them. I’ll go upstairs now."
Chu Ge nced indifferently at those people at the front desk, who were staring at him in bewilderment; he smiled slightly.
Immediately, their faces turned ashen.
"Manager Zhang, what did you just call him?"
One of them asked unwillingly.
Manager Zhang red at her coldly, "This is Mr. Chu, whom Miss Man Sha specifically instructed us about! You dared to show him attitude!"
Their faces instantly turned pale and then red again; who would’ve thought that such a inly dressed man was actually the VIP Miss Man Sha had specially mentioned.
Now they’ve really stepped on a mine!
Manager Zhang led Chu Ge upstairs, where the makeup artist and costume designer were waiting.
Chu Ge asked in surprise, "Do I really need makeup?"
Manager Zhang nodded and said, "Yes, Mr. Chu, this was specifically requested by Miss Man Sha."
Chu Ge looked wordlessly at the makeup artist; having a rough man like him put on makeup was indeed... a bit indescribable!
Manager Zhang, smiling, said to Chu Ge, "Tonight’s banquet is especially important to Miss Man Sha, and I hope you can be understanding and make do."
Chu Ge was seated in front of the mirror by the makeup artist, and he watched as the artist painted his face, unsure of how long he was fiddled with.
In the end, looking at himself in the mirror, he found no real change.
The costume designer picked a blue ink-colored suit paired with a patterned tie for him.
This wasn’t his first time wearing a tie, but this time, looking at himself in the mirror, he felt as if he was about to be a groom.
Once his preparations wereplete, Manager Zhang led Chu Ge to the booked hotel.
Tonight was a prestigious banquet for the upper-ss society of Capital City, with many luxury vehicles gathering at the entrance of the five-star hotel.
Manager Zhang parked on the street, seeing the congestion inside, and apologetically said to Chu Ge, "Mr. Chu, it’s terribly crowded inside. You’d best get off at the entrance and wait a moment while I find parking."
