Chapter 827: Chapter 829: Forced into a Passive Position

Chu Ge chuckled, "That’s not necessary."
We’ll have to wait until Jian Chunqiu returns to know the specifics.
Ouyang Die nodded, putting down the book she held, seemingly remembering something and saying, "Oh right, I saw someone outside; they looked quite strange."
Chu Ge looked up at her, "Who?"
"Just at the entrance of the Gambling Stone Field, there’s a tall, fair-skinned boy standing there. He seems like he wants toe in but is hesitating, as if worried about something."
Chu Ge furrowed his brows, getting up, "I’ll go take a look."
Hearing Ouyang Die describe the person as tall and fair-skinned, he knew it wasn’t someone from Japan, but he couldn’t be sure it wasn’t someone from the Dragon Group. This ce is a gathering spot for many Ancient Martial Artists, if they wanted to take action here, catching them off guard, they would certainly suffer.
Chu Ge stepped out of the Gambling Stone Field and approached the entrance, indeed seeing someone standing across from the door.
The person seemed to notice Chu Ge as well, his conflicted expression rxing momentarily as he jogged over and held out a letter to Chu Ge, "Someone asked me to give this to you."
Chu Ge received it, puzzled. Just from looking, this person seemed like a high school student; no wonder he was hesitant about entering the Gambling Stone Field.
Yet, he was curious as to how this high school student could possibly know him?
"Do you know me?" Chu Ge asked curiously.
The high school student nodded, his cheeks a bit red, somewhat embarrassed as he said, "My home is in that building right up front, you often pass by there, over time, I’ve recognized who you are."
Though he knew who Chu Ge was, Chu Ge did not know him.
Chu Ge shook the letter in his hand, curiously asking, "Who gave you this letter to deliver?"
The high school student shook his head, "I don’t know that. The person was wearing a mask, covering their face tightly, but they sounded local."
Chu Ge nodded, "Alright, I understand. Thank you."
"If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way." The high school student waved to Chu Ge as he spoke and then quickly turned around and left.
Chu Ge returned inside the Gambling Stone Field with the letter and opened it. The content contained only four brief words: Beware of Zhang Ze.
But Chu Ge puzzled over who Zhang Ze was?
As he was pondering this, Jian Chunqiu arrived.
"What are you looking at?" Jian Chunqiu asked as he saw the heavy look on Chu Ge’s face, stepping forward.
Chu Ge handed the letter to Jian Chunqiu, asking, "Do you know Zhang Ze?"
Jian Chunqiu took the letter, puzzled, looking at the content, "Beware of Zhang Ze?"
Who is Zhang Ze?
Jian Chunqiu was simrly puzzled, "I’ve never heard of that name."
"I’ll ask aroundter," Jian Chunqiu said, "Who delivered this?"
Chu Ge shook his head, "Some student, also entrusted by someone. But I think I may have guessed who the person is."
Jian Chunqiu looked at him curiously, "Oh? Who?"
"Xia Tian."
Based on the student’s description, it should indeed be Xia Tian—local to the Capital City, wearing a mask, and the only person he could think of who wouldn’t want to show his face.
Jian Chunqiu looked at him puzzled, "Who is Xia Tian?"
"A captain of a mysterious organization, this organization exists to protect the key figures of various big families."
Chu Ge briefly exined.
"By the way, how is it you returned so quickly? Has the high-level meeting ended?"
Jian Chunqiu nodded, "It only took half an hour. Although it’s called a high-level meeting, it’s really just strategy discussions."
Chu Ge smiled, the so-called strategy discussions weren’t really discussions. On the first day, he had already realized that those people simply looked up to Jian Chunqiu as their leader. If Jian Chunqiu made a decision, would they really resist?
Just as Chu Ge said, after Jian Chunqiu shared the meeting’s contents with Chu Ge, he sighed, "Chu Ge, there’s something you wouldn’t expect; this suggestion came from Yang Kun."
Chu Ge looked at Jian Chunqiu in surprise, this really caught him off guard.
The two were chatting, unnoticed, as Gu Tong approached them. Gu Tong’s gaze fell upon the letter, pausing for a moment, he curiously took up the letter and nced at it, "Only these four words?"
"Are you looking for Zhang Ze?"
Gu Tong asked.
Chu Ge looked at him curiously, "You know Zhang Ze?"
"Yes, more than just know of him, I’m quite familiar with him."
Gu Tong ced the letter on the table, "But you should indeed be cautious with this Zhang Ze; despite being young, he’s achieved high levels of cultivation, almost a genius."
Jian Chunqiu questioned his statement, "A genius? If he’s a genius, why haven’t I heard of his name?"
Gu Tong scoffed, "The world of martial arts is vast; you can’t expect to know the name of every genius. Besides, Zhang Ze grew up in Japan and returned to the country only in recent years, although I was curious as well. After he returned, I thought he would make a significant impact, but surprisingly, he’s remained quite low-key."
Gu Tong clicked his tongue but unknowingly had already said too much, nearly revealing himself.
Gu Tong did not know that Chu Ge had already deduced he practiced Ancient Martial Arts. Upon realizing he had said too much, Gu Tong awkwardly cleared his throat, "Well, I have unfinished work to do; I’ll get back to it."
Chu Ge quickly stood up, stopping him, "Wait, you mentioned Zhang Ze; is he Japanese?"
Gu Tong shook his head, "Not Japanese; his father is Japanese, and his mother is Chinese. He’s of mixed heritage, grew up with his father, and only returned to the country recently because his mother fell ill."
Chu Ge nodded, puzzled, "How do you know him?"
Gu Tong cleared his throat, smiling sheepishly, "Met by chance."
He wouldn’t tell Chu Ge that they had a confrontation before, this Zhang Ze, full of arrogance when he first returned to the country, really irritated him.
Then he casually found an excuse to spar with him; although the fight ended in a draw, it showed him Zhang Ze was indeed a genius.
If they continued to fight, he really couldn’t guarantee he would prevail over Zhang Ze.
Because Zhang Ze possessed a photographic memory, the moves Gu Tong used were all memorized by Zhang Ze after seeing them once.
For this reason, Gu Tong stated that Zhang Ze should indeed be approached with caution.
Sparring with Zhang Ze means avoiding predictable patterns; otherwise, once he gains control of your moves, it would put you in a passive situation.
Once one falls into a passive state, they lose their advantage.
