Chapter 771: Chapter 0773: Ill-intentioned

In a five-star hotel in Capital City, Yang Ping sat restlessly in a luxurious suite on an upper floor, frequently going into the bathroom to adjust his clothes and hairstyle until he made sure there were no issues beforeing back out.

He checked the time on his phone – ten in the morning sharp. ording to his and Yang Kun’s n, Yang Kun’s people should deliver Mu Bingtong within half an hour at most. For convenience, he deliberately didn’t book a hotel in the city center but chose one outside the third ring road instead. It would take at most two hours from the airport to his location.

After checking the time, Yang Ping couldn’t bring himself to turn off the screen, his gaze lingering on the screen saver of a smiling woman as radiant as a rose – it was Mu Bingtong.

In the photo, Mu Bingtong was wearing a smart business suit, not the traditional, rigid deep color but a brand-customized one that carried a youthful vibe. With Mu Bingtong’s figure, she brought out a supermodel’s aura in the suit. However, the picture was not a clear frontal shot, it looked more like a stealthy snapshot taken from inside a car.

Despite the blurriness, Mu Bingtong’s figure and beautiful profile were still unmistakable. Yang Ping tenderly stroked Mu Bingtong’s profile on the screen, a twinge of guilt shing in his eyes as he murmured to himself.

“Bingtong, please don’t me me. If I didn’t work with Yang Kun, he would have found a way to harm you sooner orter, and I wouldn’t have been able to save you then. The only thing I can do is to coborate with Yang Kun. At least this way, I can ensure your safety. All I ask is that you don’t me me.” After muttering to himself for a while, Yang Ping lowered his head and gently kissed Mu Bingtong’s eyes on the screen before finally turning off the phone.

He stood up from the couch, walked into the specially arranged room, where the pristine bed was decorated with the shape of a heart made from crimson rose petals. The room was filled with an intoxicating scent. Yang Ping took a deep breath, felt overwhelmed, and quickly retreated, after all, the main guest Mu Bingtong hadn’t arrived yet.

He originally didn’t want to be involved in this kidnapping, but he knew too well what kind of person Yang Kun was. As they had grown up together, Yang Ping was all too familiar with his disposition. Yang Ping knew that if he didn’t intervene, Yang Kun would have managed it anyway.

Thinking that the matter wouldn’t bring him any harm, Yang Ping agreed to Yang Kun’s request. He leaked the time of Mu Bingtong’s trip to the airport to Yang Kun, and Yang Kun had people kidnap her and deliver her to the hotel he had booked. As for what would happen next, that needed to be yed by ear. Yang Ping had his own selfish motives, and Yang Kun had his agenda; their interests momentarily aligned.

But after waiting a long time without sight of Yang Kun’s people, Yang Ping was bing impatient. After hesitating for a moment, he still pulled out his phone and made a call to Yang Kun.

In a dimly lit warehouse, Mu Bingtong was already at herst gasp. It wasn’t that she had been tortured by Yang Kun, but rather the air was stagnant in here, coupled with the stench of the driver’s cigarette smoke that had previously overwhelmed her, she was far from recovered and unable to catch her breath. With her mouth sealed with duct tape, she couldn’t make a sound and could only droop her head in a dazed, dozy state.

    ‘Ring ring!’

The sound of a ringing phone pulled Mu Bingtong out of her drowsiness. She struggled to open her eyes and nced towards Yang Kun, who was standing in a dark corner. As soon as his phone lit up, the screen brightened the entire dark area. Mu Bingtong forced a look and realized it wasn’t her own phone, her eyes flickering with disappointment.

She knew that Yang Kun kidnapped her to ckmail Chu Ge, which meant that Yang Kun had a trap prepared here for Chu Ge. Privately, she didn’t want Chu Ge to risk it, yet she couldn’t help wanting to see him; only his presence could offer her some peace of mind.

While Mu Bingtong was still entangled in her thoughts, Yang Kun had already picked up the phone. He wasn’t the least bit surprised to receive Yang Ping’s call at this time. In fact, when he saw Yang Ping’s iing call, there was a hint of mockery in his eyes. It was almost half-past ten, and only now did they realize something was amiss. If it were him, he would have started suspecting by nine-thirty. His discovery was as foolish as ever.

The scorn in his eyes was not concealed at all. After all, Yang Ping was not here; he couldn’t see it, and even if he were, Yang Kun would still mock him.

Picking up the call, Yang Kun didn’t speak; Yang Ping’s anxious voice was alreadying through from the other end.

“Yang Kun, it’s almost half-past ten, where is Mu Bingtong? Why haven’t your people brought her over yet? There hasn’t been an ident, has there?” Inside the suite, Yang Ping leaned against the window, eyeing the constant flow of traffic outside, his brows tightly furrowed.

Yang Kun looked up and touched his chin before ncing over at Mu Bingtong and spoke indifferently, “She has been picked up.”

“She’s been picked up? Where is she now?” Yang Ping got a bit excited. He was originally afraid that something bad had happened, but now that she was picked up, it seemed there was no ident after all.

Yang Kun heard Yang Ping’s excited tone and his lips curled with disdain before he spoke, “She’s with me right now.”

Just as Yang Ping breathed a sigh of relief, Yang Kun’s words immediately put him back on alert.

“What do you mean by ‘she’s with you’? Didn’t we agree you’d bring her to me? I’ve been waiting here for hours,” Yang Ping’s hand was tightly clutching the curtain, his veins popping out without him even noticing.

Yang Kun was always ruthless and merciless, and Yang Ping knew this well. Even though he was Yang Kun’s childhood friend, he couldn’t be sure what Yang Kun might do. Mu Bingtong was just a frail girl, if she fell into Yang Kun’s hands…

Yang Ping didn’t dare to continue the thought. He now knew that Yang Kun had never nned to sincerely cooperate with him from the start. He was the fool for believing the lies of someone like Yang Kun.

“Come on, Yang Ping, Mu Bingtong doesn’t have you in her heart at all. Or perhaps she doesn’t even remember there’s someone who silently likes her. Don’t forget, she’s Chu Ge’s woman. If you took her to your ce andid a finger on her, do you think Chu Ge would let you off?”

Yang Kun took out a cigarette from his pocket, put it in his mouth, and pulled out a lighter with his other hand. With a ‘click’, he lit up the cigarette, smoking and talking to Yang Ping simultaneously.

Yang Ping’s expression darkened momentarily; he clearly understood Yang Kun’s implication. However, what he was thinking was that no matter how Chu Ge might trouble him afterward, at the very least, he would have temporarily saved Mu Bingtong. He admitted, he indeed harbored ill intentions and wanted something to happen with Mu Bingtong.
