Chapter 750: Chapter 0752: No Trouble Caused
Don’t be fooled by Gu Tong’s youthful appearance, which only looks about fifteen years old; his arrogant posture clearly shows he considers himself a big shot.
Chu Ge looked at him with a nonchnt expression, “Are you Uncle Liu’s rtive?”
Gu Tong huffed dismissively, “Didn’t you hear what I just said clearly? Do you need me to repeat it?”
Chu Ge smiled. Could it be that Uncle Liu wanted him to help discipline this child?
“Are you of age?” Chu Ge asked.
Gu Tong’s gaze on Chu Ge grew even more contemptuous, “What, you think I look very young?”
“You do look quite young.”
Chu Ge replied candidly, judging by this appearance and skin, he looked at most fifteen or sixteen years old—and that was an overestimation.
Because Gu Tong really did look young, Nangong Yunhai was just eighteen years old, but if the two of them stood together, one might believe Gu Tong was as young as twelve.
“To tell you the truth, I am thirty-one years old this year.” Gu Tong’s words left Chu Ge and Lin Dong in shock.
“What did you say?”
Lin Dong looked at Gu Tong in astonishment, his eyes filled with disbelief, “How old did you say you are?”
He couldn’t have misheard, could he? This person actually said he was thirty-one years old? How could that be possible!
Could it be that Gu Tong has an unnatural aging process?
Gu Tong seemed to have anticipated the expressions on Lin Dong and Chu Ge’s faces. With a disdainful snort, he said to Chu Ge: “Alright, I’ve said everything I wanted to, any more questions?”
Compared to Lin Dong’s astonishment, Chu Ge appeared much moreposed. Though surprised, it was only momentarily, and he quickly resumed hisposure.
He shook his head lightly, “No more.”
Since Gu Tong was already thirty-one years old, it meant that he wasn’t employing childbor. Now that this issue was cleared up, he didn’t have any further concerns.
“Start your official work today. Work hours here are from eight in the morning. Remember the time, and don’t bete in the future.”
After finishing his instructions, Chu Ge looked at Lin Dong and said, “You guide him first.”
After assigning all tasks, Chu Ge turned to take care of other matters.
But Chu Ge had barely taken two steps when Gu Tong called out to him again, “Chu Ge!”
Chu Ge turned back, “Is there something else?”
“You’re letting such a green youth lead me?” Gu Tong questioned Lin Dong’s role.
Lin Dong had been finding Gu Tong irksome on the side, initially treating him as a bratty kid due to him being Uncle Liu’s rtive and had thus tolerated him. Now that he knew Gu Tong was a thirty-one-year-old man, yet puzzled by his youthful look, he absolutely didn’t want to put up with him anymore!
“Gu Tong! Even if I’m younger than you, here, I am your senior!” Lin Dong could only cite his longer tenure at the Gambling Stone Field as leverage.
However, Gu Tong didn’t buy into his seniority. With a disdainful snort, he said: “You’re Lin Dong, right? You’ve only been at the Gambling Stone Field one day longer than me, what’s there to brag about?”
Lin Dong was nearly driven mad by Gu Tong; he pointed angrily at him, wanting to scold him, but found himself at a loss for words.
Chu Ge silently sighed on the side. It seemed that the Gambling Stone Field might not find peace in the days toe.
“What’s wrong, didn’t I speak the truth? Moreover, whether it’s in terms of skills or background, you can’tpare to me, so on what basis do I call you a senior?”
One has to admit, though Gu Tong looked only about fifteen, when he spoke, he really did show no mercy.
Lin Dong was about to explode in frustration at Gu Tong; he really wanted to go up and have a fight with him!
“Mr. Chu, look at him, he’s so arrogant, why would Uncle Liu introduce someone like him to us! Obviously, he’s here to mess things up, isn’t he!”
Lin Dong said angrily.
Chu Ge just smiled faintly, he didn’t pay attention to Lin Dong’s remarks, and directly addressed Gu Tong: “If you really think he’s not qualified to lead you, then show your own skill to prove yourself.”
Gu Tong curled his lip, silentlyining to himself—what was his master thinking, to actually take a liking to Chu Ge. He saw nothing special about him.
And to send him to this godforsaken ce to observe Chu Ge—what’s there to observe?
Gu Tong remained silent for a moment, then muttered resignedly, “Fine, I got it.”
This superior attitude of Chu Ge was something he could hardly stand, especially since he would need to work under him for a while, acting ording to Chu Ge’s face. You see, if Chu Ge met all the criteria and became master’s closed-door disciple, then he would have to properly address him as ‘senior brother’!
Gu Tong brooded inwardly, but given the circumstances, he had to endure everything and pretend to be an ignorant rookie at the mercy of Chu Ge’s arrangements.
Throughout the morning, Gu Tong indeed caused quite a few embarrassing incidents, of course, all of them deliberate, which gave Chu Ge quite a headache and made Lin Dong even more unsatisfied with him.
Approaching noon, Uncle Liu leisurely made his way over.
He walked into the Gambling Stone Field and saw Gu Tong silently wiping a table like aborer, punctuated by a flicker of surprise in Uncle Liu’s eyes.
This Gu Tong had never been so diligent before. Among his disciples, Gu Tong had to be considered theziest, which is precisely why Uncle Liu had sent Gu Tong over to test Chu Ge.
“Uncle Liu, how did youe over?” Lin Dong, who first spotted Uncle Liu, approached with dissatisfaction, grumbling, “Uncle Liu, where did you find this rtive from?”
Uncle Liu looked at him with a beaming smile and asked, “What’s wrong? Has Gu Tong been troubling you?”
Lin Dong grimaced. Trouble? There had been no shortage, but those grievances were not his to air as an employee; so he quite consciously suggested, “You’d better ask Mr. Chu for details.”
Gu Tong had keen hearing. He heard Uncle Liu and Lin Dong talking the moment they spoke, but he pretended not to hear and didn’t look back.
He indeed wanted to see what Lin Dong would say about him behind his back.
However, he did not expect Lin Dong not to snitch but to directly suggest that Uncle Liu ask Chu Ge about it.
Thinking about it, this was also a good opportunity to see what Chu Ge was made of.
Chu Ge was quietly looking at the gambling stones at a table when he saw Uncle Liuing over and took the initiative to greet him, “Uncle Liu, how do you have time toe by today?”
Uncle Liu smiled and pointed at Gu Tong, saying, “I’m not at ease with thisd, so I came to take a look. How is it, is he well-behaved?”
Standing next to Uncle Liu, Gu Tong watched Chu Ge, curious about how he would respond.
Chu Ge nced at Gu Tong indifferently and then told Uncle Liu, “He’s doing fine, hasn’t caused any trouble.”
