Chapter 737: Chapter 0739: ck Witch Elder

Chu Ge looked at Jian Chunqiu unexpectedly, he hadn’t thought about this point before.
Jian Chunqiu tsked, saying with a mocking tone, "It seems your old man hasn’t passed on all the ancient martial arts secrets and the Heart Sutra to you."
Chu Ge was at a loss for words. He quietly watched Jian Chunqiu’s smug expression and listened to him continue talking.
"Why not do this, you be my disciple, and I’ll properly teach you these things?" Jian Chunqiu teased.
The corner of Chu Ge’s mouth twitched. It turned out Jian Chunqiu had been waiting for him here.
Jian Chunqiu had always wanted to take him as a disciple since a long time ago, but it had never been sessful due to his family’s old man.
He had always kept this in mind.
"Uncle Jian, stop joking around," Chu Ge lightly coughed and said, "The disciples you’ve taken on, aren’t they enough for you to deal with? Besides, didn’t you just ept Lin Dong? Take good care of him, I am still expecting him to help me watch over the Gambling Stone Field."
Jian Chunqiu, angered by Chu Ge’s words, red with puffed cheeks. So, he had taken on a disciple just to prepare for Chu Ge’s gambling stone parlor.
Jian Chunqiu red at Chu Ge displeasedly and said, "Let me make this clear to you upfront, I am training Lin Dong to bring him back to Sword Pavilion. As for watching over your gambling stone field, you should find someone else."
Chu Ge knew that Jian Chunqiu wouldn’t be so generous, but he didn’t really care, because he knew if Lin Dong learned ancient martial arts, he definitely wouldn’t just stick to the gambling stone field – he had higher aspirations. Chu Ge would definitely not trap Lin Dong here.
"By the way, how is the preparation for the prestigious meeting going?" Chu Ge changed the subject.
Jian Chunqiuzily lifted his gaze, speaking faintly, "We don’t need to prepare for that kind of thing. However, since only those who have received an invitation can participate in the prestigious meeting, the Capital City has been quite restless these days."
Chu Ge didn’t understand.
"There’s an unwritten rule at the prestigious meeting – the invitations to this meeting are up for grabs. Once someone takes your invite, your reputation in the world of martial arts will plummet, so everyone is very cautious. And the reason why the Capital City is restless is because too many people are vying for them, and conflicts ur often."
Chu Ge suddenly realized and nodded, "But isn’t the meeting supposed to invite people based on their Sect? Is fighting over invitations really useful?"
Jian Chunqiu shook his head, "I also just found out that this year’s prestigious meeting is not only inviting by Sect but also included the recently famed martial artists without a Sect."
"I’ve heard about things in the world of martial arts too. I heard that a talented young martial artist has recently emerged, named Zhang Ze. I’m told that the lines to recruit him are as long as a dragon. Does your Sword Pavilion have a hand in this?"
Chu Ge asked curiously.
Jian Chunqiu snorted lightly. "Zhang Ze? He is quite smart, and he’s very talented in martial arts, a true martial arts prodigy. But being smart is one thing; he doesn’t use his cleverness in the right way, only for petty tricks, which doesn’t endear him to people."
Chu Ge was startled, looking at Jian Chunqiu somewhat confusedly, but Jian Chunqiu didn’t seem to want to exin. He slowly stood up, stretchedzily, and said, "All right, so many things have happened just as the Gambling Stone Field opened today. You’re the big boss, and not being present to oversee things, how will your employees look up to you in the future?"
Chu Ge sighed. It was just the first day, and he already felt somewhat tired. In the future, he really should find an assistant so that he can be a hands-off shopkeeper.
When the two arrived at the Gambling Stone Field, they happened upon a person at the entrance. The man was dressed in a blue robe and was craning his neck looking into the doorway.
As Chu Ge and Jian Chunqiu approached, they looked at him suspiciously. The man also noticed Chu Ge, coughed awkwardly, smiled at Chu Ge and Jian Chunqiu, and then continued to peek into the doorway.
Jian Chunqiu looked puzzledly at the sign hanging on the door indicating the business was open for normal operation; by all rights, one could enter, but the person standing sneakily at the entrance didn’t seem like any good sort.
"Young man, if you want to gamble on stones, go down to the basement level; if you want to buy medicine, the shop next door is where you should go. Standing here and peering around isn’t going to solve any problem."
Scratching his head, the man gave an embarrassed smile and said nothing, instead, he turned and left.
However, his so-called departure consisted of taking a few steps, looking back, as though something inside held an allure for him, making him fear missing out.
This person was none other than Yang Ping. Yang Ping went to the elders of the ck Witch Sect to resign, which went smoother than he had anticipated. In the past, such a thing would have saddened him, especially now that the disciples in the ck Witch Sect were few in number, and there were rumors within the Sect that whoever remained would be given important positionster on.
He had thought that staying with the ck Witch Sect would mean being valued, but so far, this had not happened. Now that he had expressed his wish to leave, the elders readily agreed without showing any reluctance.
This indeed dealt a blow to his confidence.
But disappointment is not as overwhelming as relief, and now he has a new goal—Mu Bingtong. He couldn’t be more eager for the simple permission to resign.
Chu Ge watched Yang Ping’s retreating figure in slight disbelief and said, "What on earth does this person want to do?"
"What can he do? He probably wants to gamble on stones, but doesn’t have the money, I guess."
Jian Chunqiu said dismissively.
Chu Ge didn’t dwell on it and turned to enter the door, but Yang Ping suddenly doubled back.
He jogged up to Chu Ge and politely asked, "Hello, I am looking for someone."
Chu Ge turned around, "Who are you looking for?"
"Lady Mu, from Shanghai. Mr. Chu, she said she’s your friend."
Yang Ping had already recognized Chu Ge, and his purpose in saying this was to let Chu Ge know that he was aware of Lady Mu’s presence there.
Chu Ge looked at him with surprise and felt he seemed somewhat familiar. With so many incidents happening in the span of a single day, it was only upon hearing Yang Ping speak that he remembered who this person was.
"It was you who saved Bingtong; thank you for that."
Chu Ge said, "However, Bingtong is not in the Gambling Stone Field right now."
Disappointment shed unmistakably across Yang Ping’s face. He uttered an "Oh," then asked, "Where is she staying now?"
Chu Ge narrowed his eyes slightly at Yang Ping. If he still hadn’t noticed Yang Ping’s unrequited interest in Mu Bingtong by now, then his years would have been wasted.
"What do you want with her?" Chu Ge asked nonchntly.
Yang Ping smiled, "Since it’s her first time in the Capital City, I thought I’d invite her out for a meal."
Chu Geughed, but hisughter contained a touch of coldness, "From what I understand, you’re not a local of the Capital City either, right?"
The assertive tone caused Yang Ping a brief moment of bewildered hesitation before he instinctively nodded, "Yes, I’m not from the Capital City. It’s precisely because I’m not from here that I feel I have a lot inmon with Lady Mu."
