Chapter 734: Chapter 0736: Think About It

Lin Zhao and Chu Ge simultaneously looked at Old Master Nangong, but Old Master Nangong remained nomittal. Chu Ge reluctantly let go of the hand he was using to block Lin Zhao.
Lin Zhao stormed out in anger because of this.
Chu Ge quietly watched Old Master Nangong, whose indecision left himpletely baffled. He didn’t understand what he was wrestling with; after all, Nangong Sanli was truly out for his life, yet he was so cowardly, always enduring in silence, afraid to fight back.
"Old Master Nangong, you’ve really disappointed me," said Chu Ge, "If in the future Nangong Sanli attacks you again, I hope you don’te looking for me. I don’t want another life lost because of me."
Having said that, Chu Ge opened the door and ungraciously said to Old Master Nangong: "I won’t see you out."
Old Master Nangong’s lips parted, but his hunched figure had none of the dignity of a superior, resembling an old man from the marketce instead. He looked deeply at Chu Ge for onest time, ultimately saying nothing. He slowly stood up and left the Gambling Stone Field.
In the car, Old Master Nangong sat in the back seat, his gaze fixed ahead, pondering over something unknown.
His personal assistant in the front seat had looked back at him several times already. Seeing Old Master Nangong so distracted, he couldn’t help but ask, "Old Master, what’s wrong with you? You’ve looked terrible ever since we left the gambling stone ce. Did something happen?"
Old Master Nangong shook his head and after a moment of silence, he asked, "Xuan, have I be less ruthless than before?"
Xuan was taken aback, not understanding why the Old Master would suddenly ask such a question. He looked back at Old Master Nangong and scratched his head, "Old Master, what are you talking about?"
A self-mocking smile curled on Old Master Nangong’s lips. He slowly closed his eyes. Within just three seconds of reopening them, his gaze was cold as ice, "Xuan, investigate Nangong Sanli again. I need more detailed information."
Perhaps he had been wrong from the start; he had thought Nangong Sanli was merely bewitched by others to attack him poisonously. However, after the investigation over this period, he found all his intents were directed at the family fortune. Even though the signs weren’t obvious, he could still discern something fishy.
Now that Lin Zhao hade to him with a video his father left before death, telling him that Nangong Sanli could even cripple someone just to achieve his goals.
In his eyes, human lives were so cheap. Did that mean his own life was also disposable to him?
Xuan didn’t understand why Old Master suddenly wanted to investigate Nangong Sanli again, but he followed the order nheless.
At that moment, Chu Ge sat alone by the window, lighting a cigarette between his fingers. He quietly watched outside; this area was old, and the traffic on the streets wasn’t as heavy and congested as in the newer districts. Tall Earth-tree trees on both sides of the road sprinkled mottled light and shadows.
There he sat quietly, his gaze fixedly locked on arge tree by the side of the road and the man weeping helplessly beside it.
In time, Liu Yue brought a cup of tea to Chu Ge’s side, "Mr. Chu, what are you looking at?"
He handed the tea to Chu Ge and then followed his gaze, spotting Lin Zhao squatting there, crying bitterly.
"Isn’t that..." Liu Yue was shocked, not expecting to see a grown man cry so unreservedly, "What happened to him? Why is he crying so miserably?"
Chu Ge shook his head without speaking, but in his heart, he understood Lin Zhao’s sorrow.
Although he talked about avenging his own way, he was merely a person from the lowest rung of society; what could he possibly use to contend with those at the pinnacle of the pyramid? No money, no power.
Chu Ge was silent for a while before he took a sip of the tea. Then, as if making an important decision, he put down the cup and walked out with long strides.
Shortly after, Chu Ge approached Lin Zhao.
Lin Zhao was just feeling extremely miserable and wanted to release his feelingspletely. So, he left the Gambling Stone Field, and seeing that there was no one around, he began to sob uncontrobly.
While crying, suddenly feeling someone behind him, he abruptly turned around. Seeing that it was Chu Ge, he resentfully wiped away his tears and red at Chu Ge, "What are you doing here!"
Chu Ge coughed awkwardly, "You crying like this, it really doesn’t look good, and your father in Heaven would be sad to see this."
Lin Zhao was stunned, then fell silent, wiping his tears away and letting out a breath of turbid air.
Chu Ge stepped forward, offered him a tissue, and said, "Don’t worry. Even though Old Master Nangong didn’t take a stand on the spot, he will surely do something about this matter; he can’t just ignore it. Why not wait patiently for a few days?"
"Are you so sure?" Lin Zhao looked at Chu Ge skeptically. They all witnessed Old Master Nangong’s attitude just before – clearly, he seemed to want to protect Nangong Sanli.
As if seeing through Lin Zhao’s thoughts, Chu Ge smiled and told him, "It’s not about being sure, it’s about analyzing the psychology of someone in his position. He needs a perfect reason to convince himself. Although I’m not very clear about the twists and turns, once he finds out that everything is not directed by someone else, he will deal with the matter without any sentiment.
Did you think Old Master Nangong could rise to where he is now and build today’s the Nangong Family by truly being weak and incapable? You’re wrong, everything is just a fa?ade."
Lin Zhao fell silent for a moment and then asked unwillingly, "So I’m just supposed to wait and do nothing?"
Chu Ge sighed, "There’s no other way."
"If you really feel like you have nothing to do, you cane and work at my Gambling Stone Field," Chu Ge suddenly offered, "I remember you still don’t have a formal job, right?"
Once out of prison, with a record, no matter where you go, you’re looked at through tinted sses. But here it’s different; you can start anew, and no one would care about what you did before.
Also, Lin Zhao had some reputation in this area. Having him help watch over the ce would add a degree of deterrence.
Lin Zhao did not expect Chu Ge to extend such an invitation, leaving him uncertain about what to do.
His emotions were incrediblyplex – was he excited? There was some excitement indeed – was he hesitant? There was some of that too.
He did not know if he could do the job well, nor did he know if he could put aside his grudge with Chu Ge regarding his father’s death.
After all, Chu Ge had an indirect responsibility for everything now.
Chu Ge knew he was in a difficult position, so he did not rush for a decision. Instead, he suggested that Lin Zhao think it over and wait until Old Master Nangong had dealt with Nangong Sanli before deciding.
