Chapter 720: Chapter 0722: Naturally Sensitive
Yang Ping pondered for a moment; by now, he no longer cared if their agreement meant he was truly useless to the ck Witch Sect.
All he wanted now was for them to express their true feelings, preferably nodding in agreement the moment he proposed to resign.
Thinking so, Yang Ping couldn’t help but take out his phone to call the elders.
But before the call connected, it was snatched away by Yang Kun.
“What are you trying to do?” he asked.
“I’m calling the elders to tell them about my resignation,” replied Yang Ping.
Yang Kun looked at him incredulously, “Do you think it’s appropriate to say this over the phone?”
In fact, he was worried that Yang Ping would give away his location with just one phone call.
The ck Witch Sect’s elders were very astute.
They had tried repeatedly to pry information from Yang Ping. If it weren’t for Yang Kun’s repeated warnings and his deep understanding of Yang Ping, having inocted him with precautions, the fool would have betrayed him long ago!
Yang Ping thought it over and realized Yang Kun had a point. He quickly stood up and said to Yang Kun, “Then I’ll go find them now.”
After Yang Ping left, Yang Kun couldn’t help but sneer as he watched his retreating figure and spitefully spat in the direction he had gone.
Ever since he was young, Yang Ping had always listened to him, letting him manipte him. After all these years, he still did whatever he was told, never going west if told to go east, catching a chicken if asked, never a duck; he had no opinion of his own.
Now even better, he had learned to fashionably fall in love at first sight, giving Yang Kun the perfect opportunity to understand Chu Ge.
As long as Yang Ping kept pursuing that girl, inquiring about the situation over there, he would seize the opportunity to eliminate Chu Ge, the stumbling block!
Busy in the Gambling Stone Field, Chu Ge couldn’t help but sneeze. He rubbed his nose and nced at the time; it was almost noon.
He had hired a few people to serve as attendants in the Gambling Stone Field, and at this time, in the midst of noon, there weren’t many people left; everyone had gone for lunch.
Nangong Man Sha stretched her limbs and came over with a weary face, asking, “Mr. Chu, where is your fiancée? Let’s have lunch together today, to wee your fiancée.”
Chu Ge smiled softly, politely declining, “How could I let you pay? Today’s lunch is on me. You choose the ce; I’ll go check on her and see how she’s resting first.”
Having said this, Chu Ge turned and left.
Nangong Man Sha’s smile gradually faded as well, exhaling softly with unmistakable mncholy in her eyes.
Jian Chunqiu approached her and said in a low voice, “What, ready to give up now that the fiancée has arrived?”
Nangong Man Sha was startled by Jian Chunqiu suddenly being beside her and was quite speechless, “Elder Jian, do you always walk without making a sound?”
“You’re just distracted,” Jian Chunqiu stated.
Nangong Man Sha had no intention of bickering with him. She pouted and prepared to leave.
Jian Chunqiu followed closely, “Why are you in such a hurry? I’m an old man and can hardly keep up with you. Aren’t we supposed to wee them and clean off the dust at noon today? Aren’t you going anymore?”
Nangong Man Sha stopped abruptly, turning to look at Jian Chunqiu, discontentedly saying, “Go? Of course, I’m going! That’s why I need to go change clothes and freshen up.”
Jian Chunqiu watched her speechlessly, thinking to himself: women, indeed…
He originally wanted tofort her and had prepared a bunch of things to say, but now seeing Nangong Man Sha’s condition, it probably wasn’t necessary.
Jian Chunqiu looked deeply in the direction where Nangong Man Sha had vanished, a bit helplessly shaking his head. He could feel that Nangong Man Sha didn’t actually like Chu Ge as much as he imagined; even using Chu Ge’s own words, her feelings for him weren’t what one would call ‘liking.’
Maybe, always trying to push these two people together was a mistake.
For the first time, Jian Chunqiu began to doubt his own actions.
Nangong Man Sha rushed into the changing room, and the moment she closed the door, she leaned against it as if drained, her body naturally sliding down. She took a deep breath.
She didn’t know what was wrong with herself, just felt a heaviness in her chest.
Could this be what people call ‘liking’ someone?
But she knew clearly that she actually did not like Chu Ge. In the beginning, she was just curious about Chu Ge, andter on, she needed his Medical Skill. But she didn’t know exactly when—probably since the trip to Su City—she always felt that her attitude towards Chu Ge had changed.
It became more like the way one treats a friend. Nangong Man Sha had always been very enthusiastic around Chu Ge; everyone thought she liked Chu Ge, but Chu Ge himself never felt that she liked him.
Sometimes she really admired his intuition; he could always guess it urately.
Nangong Man Sha touched the area over her heart, feeling very ufortable there, and this urgency made her anxious, an anxiety caused by the belief that she had really fallen for Chu Ge.
“Thump, thump, thump!” Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and Liu Yue’s voice came from outside, “Is anyone there?”
Nangong Man Sha hurried back to reality, sorted out her emotions, then got up from the ground, straightened her clothes, and opened the door, “Liu Yue.”
“Miss Man Sha? Are you okay?” Liu Yue didn’t expect the person inside to be Nangong Man Sha. Seeing the tired expression on her face, she asked with concern, “The Gambling Stone Field’s opening day is indeed too exhausting. Miss Man Sha, you’ve been patronizing all this time, you must be tired.”
Nangong Man Sha smiled, “Tiredness is not the issue, but my face feels a bit sore, having smiled for too long.”
Liu Yue was stunned, she looked at Nangong Man Sha, not understanding. In their minds, Nangong Man Sha always appeared radiant and always had a smile on her face. But today, she heard Nangong Man Sha say she was tired from smiling too long, this was really hard for her toprehend, even wondering if this was really something Nangong Man Sha would say.
“Miss Man Sha, are you feeling down?” Liu Yue, who grew up in an orphanage, was quite adept at perceiving people’s emotions. She could tell at a nce that Nangong Man Sha was not in a good mood.
Nangong Man Sha forced a smile, “Is it that obvious?”
If it’s so obvious, why hasn’t Chu Ge noticed it?
Liu Yue smiled, “Growing up in the orphanage, I had to learn how to read people’s expressions and emotions, so…”
Nangong Man Sha took a deep breath, exhaling the turbid air inside her, she said, “I’m fine, let’s hurry and change clothes. We still have to go for lunch together at noon.”
Liu Yue hesitated for a moment before speaking timidly, “I think I won’t go for the lunch…”
“Why?” asked Nangong Man Sha, puzzled.
“If I leave, there will be nobody at the Gambling Stone Field’s front desk,” Liu Yue said.
Nangong Man Sha shook her head speechlessly, “But I remember Mr. Chu hiring you not to work at the Gambling Stone Field’s front desk, but at the pharmacy next door.”
Liu Yue smiled sheepishly, “Yes, the job is at the pharmacy next door, but since it hasn’t opened yet, I thought I’d help out at the Gambling Stone Field as well.”
Nangong Man Sha knew what Liu Yue was thinking; childrening out of the orphanage tended to be sensitive by nature.
