Chapter 1572

    Chapter 1572:

But Chris understood with painful rity that it was only buying time. The toxins had long since seeped into Laurence’s organs, his bones, even his marrow.

Just moments earlier, a panel of the world’s top toxicology specialists had delivered their verdict in t, emotionless tones. The lead doctor had said, “Mr. Cooper, even with every possible intervention, even if we spare no cost to keep him alive… your grandfather has three years at most.”

Three years. Only three years left.

Chris’s gaze settled on Laurence’s gaunt, aged face—almost unrecognizable now. This man had endured countless battles for the family, for him. He should have been spending his final years surrounded by loved ones in peace. And yet here he was.

A violent storm seemed to rage inside Chris’s chest—searing fury threatening to break free. His fists clenched so hard his nails bit into his palms, drawing sharp, grounding pain.

He stood outside the ward for a long time, until the red haze in his eyes slowly faded, reced by a deep, cial calm.

“Watch him closely,” he ordered coldly, and then turned and strode out of the medical wing without another word.

Inside themand hall, a massive circr screen dominated the wall, disying a live satellite map of Wront. A single bright red dot moved steadily along the map’s edge, clearly marking the police car carrying Kolton.

Urgent footsteps rang out. A base staff member hurried forward, tablet in hand, sweat beading on his brow.

“Sir, the police vehicle is definitely off course. It deviated from the route to central headquarters and is now heading toward the north suburban tunnel. Fortunately, you anticipated this—our team was already positioned nearby and managed to nt a military-grade micro-tracker under the rear bumper when there was an opening.”

Chris’s eyes remained locked on the moving dot, as though he could see straight through the screen to the man inside—the one he despised.

    ???????????? ???????????????? ???? ??????????????????.??????

“Good work,” he said evenly, his voice carrying absolute authority.

He turned slowly. Behind him, two full special operations teams stood ready—ck tactical gear, helmets, assault rifles fitted with infrared optics. Every man radiated the quiet, lethal calm of someone who had survived hell ande back hardened.

Chris’s gaze swept over them once, cold andmanding.

“Get moving,” he ordered. “Bring Kolton Cooper to me—alive.”

“Yes, sir!” The response thundered back in perfect unison.

As the teams loaded quickly into vehicles and rolled out, Chris didn’t waste a moment. He pulled a ck satellite phone from his pocket and dialed War’s private line.

Minutester, at a concealed helipad on the outskirts of Wront, the night air split with the deafening roar of rotor des. Two matte-ck, heavily armed helicopters lifted off smoothly into the darkness.

Meanwhile, in a heavily fortified military-controlled zone in Wront’s northern suburbs, the temporarymand center zed with light. Thick bulletproof ss sealed out the night and the cold wind; inside, only the low, steady hum of high-end electronics filled the space.

A full wall of high-definition screens glowed simultaneously—radar sweeps, live satellite feeds, troop positions, and more, each divided into dozens of orderly windows flickering silently.
