Chapter 384: I should raise my voice...

At the international airport of Country Z, Ethan and Davis walked side by side toward the exit.
Ethan, as usual, handled their few pieces of luggage with quiet efficiency, while Davis, still unsettled from the long flight, switched off airne mode on his phone the instant they stepped out.
His fingers, restless, dialed the one number that had haunted him throughout the journey. But the call didn’t connect.
A frown tightened his jaw. He tried again, only for his phone to buzz with a notification instead.
For a fleeting moment his chest tightened then rxed when he read the message.
Relief softened his expression, a quiet smile tugging at his lips even though the call had not gone through.
"Long time, Mr. Raven," a middle-aged man with a fairplexion and a sharply prominent nose greeted warmly, his smile bright as he approached.
Pulling the car door open, he stood aside respectfully.
"Long time," Davis returned the greeting with a firm handshake, his gaze steady.
Ethan, less formal, sped the man into a friendly hug before they slipped into the car and they left the bustling airport behind.
Their car glided smoothly through the city lights toward their hotel.
"Are we joining the summit immediately?" Ethan asked, flipping through Davis’ schedule with practiced focus.
"Not yet. I have to see him first," Davis replied, a subtle glint of warmth flickering in his otherwiseposed eyes.
"Are we going now?"
"Get to the hotel first. We’ll discuss after," he said, leaning back against the armrest, closing his eyes.
A single thought weighed heavily on him: he needed to arrive at the hotel quickly and see if he could contact her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be at peace.
"Any updates about events back in the country?"
"Not until we settle in the hotel," Ethan replied evenly.
"Alright. Keep me informed," Davis instructed, though his voice had grown distant.
His mind was already far away, wandering to Jessica as he pondered on what she was doing at this very moment.

Meanwhile, in a car racing through the crowded streets toward the Central Hospital, Jessica sat in the backseat, her legs crossed, the Alpha Project files that Davis had given her days ago spread open across herp.
Her ballpoint moved swiftly, striking bold marks across the documents as she went through every use, her sharp eyes picking up every questionable use in the documents.
Halfway through, a thought struck her. Without hesitation, she reached for her phone and dialed. "Send me all the documents and information you’ve gathered on the Louis family...their assets, their business trends, everything," she instructed briskly before ending the call.
Her tone left no room for negotiation..
Without ncing at the driver, she asked tly, "How many minutes before we arrive?"
The driver checked the rearview mirror, his eyes briefly meeting herposed yet sharp reflection. "About ten minutes, ma’am."
"Make it five," she ordered.
His eyes widened slightly at the decisiveness in her tone, but he nodded. "Yes, ma’am." He replied
He stepped harder on the gas pedal and the vehicle shot forth like an arrow.
Within minutes, the car pulled into the hospital parking lot.
Her phone buzzed with multiple notifications just as she wanted to step down , she paused her movement and clicked on the mail, her lips curled up in a cold arc as she read the contents..
Then her expression hardened.
Newsfeeds flooded her screen one after another:.
"The Alpha Project, the Louis group, finally speaks up on its dy.
"Is the Alpha Project a sham project by the Allen Group?"
"Desmond’s project abandoned by Davis...Allen Group in crisis?"
The Louis Group loses faith in the Allen Group over the multibillion-dor deal.
The Allen Group stock takes a hit as Louis Group reveals the truth behind the dy.
"Louis Groupments their loss over their partnership with the Allen Group."
As notification continuously rolled out, her brows furrowed deeper with each headline. Her hand tightened around her phone, the light in her eyes turning cial.
"What a smart move," she muttered coldly, a dangerous smirk tugging at her lips.
"Ma’am, we’ve arrived," the driver reminded softly.
With a click, the screen of her phone turned dark. Adjusting her mood, she stepped down from the car but then her gaze caught sight of a sleek ck car that pulled up at a distance.
She stared at it for a while, shrugged her shoulders and entered the hospital.
With the meeting just a few minutes away, she wasn’t nning on spending much time with her doctor. She only wanted one confirmation: "Is my baby safe?"
Jessica entered the doctor’s office with no time for banter, after a brief pleasantries, "I am in a hurry, just run a quick check-up on the health situation of my baby," she said to the obstetrician.
Who smiled lightly. "Sica, you know this isn’t how it works or do you want me to remind you?"
"Rose, it seems you have forgotten I am off the shelf for the moment," she retorted as sheid down for the check-up.
Rose swiftly ran a few checks on her belly. "The foetus is alive and well, but Jessica, you really have to take control of the sort of stress you put yourself through."
"Got it. As long as there is no threat of stillbirth." Jessica smirked as she turned to her side before she lifted herself from the bed and stepped down.
"Can’t say really, but I think you shoulde back for an ultrasound scan," she murmured with furrowed brows.
"Alright, I will get it done tomorrow," she replied as she bolted for the door and the doctor shook her head helplessly.
Outside the hospital, she checked again but the car was already gone, she shrugged her shoulders and walked towards her car.
Settling down, the car slowly pulled away from the hospital. She tapped her phone against her lips thoughtfully.
"The Louis family thinks they’ve scored a victory... Why not let me help them ruin themselves faster?"
With a sharp exhale, she dialed a number.
The call was picked up on the first ring.
"Finally remembered me?" A cool male voice teased.
"Were you forgotten? I never knew," Jessica retorted, her lips curving in a sly arc.
"Guess I’ll have to notify you next time," the man chuckled.
"Lucas, I need something done."
"I knew it. What’s the catch?"
Hershes lowered, her voice sharp as steel. "I’ll send details to your phone. I want results immediately."
"Someone stepped on your line?" he asked, amused.
"Crossing my line is simple," Jessica said coldly. "But they trampled on me. Don’t you think I should raise my voice?"
Lucas clicked his tongue. "You should. It’s worth raising your voice."
After a brief chat, the call ended. Jessica exhaled slowly. She flipped open herptop, logged into her work mail, her fingers flying across the keys as she essed files on the Louis family.
Piece by piece, shepiled their skeletons; evidence of corruption, illicit dealings, maniptions buried deep within their transactions, their products with potential threat to consumers health.
Once done, she drafted an anonymous report and sent it straight to the Consumer Protection Authority attaching its evidence.
Another letter to the investigative Committee on Industry and Tax Payment.
Confirmations to both letters arrived within minutes. Jessica leaned back, her shoulders loosening as relief washed over her.
Her preparationsplete, she carefully organized her materials and documents for the uing meeting.
As they pulled into the Group, a soft sigh escaped her lips as she took in the sight of that towering building of the Allen Group.
A nce at the watch on her wrist read fifteen minutes past the hour of nine. "Perfect." She murmured
