Chapter 583: Trouble

Chapter 583: Trouble

’Exactly.’ Nnenna pulled the kit onto herp, determination glinting in her eyes. ’If the world’s going to keep throwing problems at me, I’ll be ready to patch myself up and keep moving.’

    Ding!

    "280 good points deducted."

In the next instant, a sleek, fully equipped first aid box appeared beside her bed.

Nnenna opened it with practiced hands, her eyes scanning the neatly arranged content, antiseptic, gauze, scissors, gloves, and even burn ointment. "Not bad," she murmured. "Looks like it came straight out of a hospital."

She slipped on the gloves and carefully unwrapped her palms. The wounds were worse than she had allowed herself to notice earlier, deep scrapes lined with angry red flesh, tiny bits of wire still clinging to the cuts. Her breath hitched, but her hands didn’t shake.

    "Alright. Let’s do this."

She first rinsed the wounds with the sterile solution, biting her lip hard as the stingnced through her nerves. The liquid bubbled faintly against the torn skin, carrying away dirt and tiny strands of metal. Her brows furrowed, but she didn’t let a sound escape.

"You’re tough," the Love Systemmented softly.

"Pain is temporary. Infection is worse," she muttered, focusing on her task.

She used the tweezers to remove the stubborn wire fragments, her movements precise, almost surgical. Then, with steady fingers, she dabbed antiseptic over the wounds. The burn of the liquid spread like fire up her arms, but Nnenna only exhaled slowly through her nose, forcing her body to stay calm.

Finally, sheyered gauze over each palm, wrapping them snugly with clean bandages. When she tied thest knot, she flexed her fingers lightly. The movement pulled at the fresh wrappings, but her work was neat and professional, firm enough to protect, loose enough not to restrict.

    She leaned back, exhaling. "Done."

"Impressive," the System remarked. "It’s almost like you’ve been trained for this your whole life."

Nnenna gave a faint smile. "What’s the point of skills if you don’t use them when it matters?"

    "Great, let’s go."

Nnenna stepped out of her room, her hands wrapped neatly in fresh bandages, and made her way through the long corridors toward Carl’s quarters. The walk felt endless, but after about thirty minutes, she arrived, just in time.

Ahead of her, the housekeeper, Nanny, and a few carefully chosen servants carried trays of food. Nanny led the procession with her usual stiff dignity, while the others followed in silence. But it was the housekeeper who caught Nnenna’s eye immediately.

He carried a single covered bowl with both hands. The soup.

Her gaze sharpened. So it’s true.

As they neared Carl’s outer room, she noticed the subtle flick of his wrist, his hand blocking the soup for just a second, as if shielding it while he again slipped something from a small, almost hidden container. His movements were precise, practiced... suspicious.

Her stomach sank. Of all people... him?

The housekeeper had always been the steady one, unfailingly professional. Even when others dismissed her, he treated her with respect. To see him now, deliberately ensuring only Carl would touch that soup, hit harder than she wanted to admit.

Disappointment flickered across her face, but she forced herself to stayposed. Not yet. I won’t be a hundred percent sure until I know exactly what’s in that bottle.

    She inhaled slowly. For now...

’Love System,’ she ordered silently. ’Make him trip. Nothing dangerous, just enough to spill the soup.’

    Ding!

    "2000 good points deducted."

Her eyes widened. ’What? Two thousand? That’s robbery!’

"You underestimate him," the Love System exined calmly. "He’s not an ordinary man. He’s a strong martial artist. Tripping him without real injury costs more than toppling someone weak. The system bnces the difference."

Nnenna clenched her jaw, forcing herself to ept the deduction. ’Fine. If it saves Carl, then it’s worth it.’

The group reached the clean tile floor of Carl’s room when it happened.

The housekeeper, steady as always, suddenly faltered. His foot snagged on nothing visible, his bnce tipping forward. His arms jerked, the covered bowl tilting, and—

    Crash!

The soup flew from his hands in a steaming arc and sttered across the spotless floor. The fragrant liquid spread everywhere, soaking into the expensive rugs.

    Gasps erupted.

Nanny froze mid step, her eyes going wide. "Hubby?!" Her sharp voice cracked with disbelief. "Are you okay??"

The servants all stood rooted in ce, jaws ck. They had followed the housekeeper for years, many never once seeing him stumble. It was like watching a mountain suddenly shift.

The housekeeper himself only frowned, his expression tightening, but otherwise calm. He didn’t shout, didn’t curse, just stood there with the empty bowl in his hands, staring down at the ruined soup.

Nnenna, however, pressed her lips together to keep fromughing. A bubble of relief mixed with dark satisfaction curled in her chest. Perfect. Just perfect. She lowered her gaze quickly, pretending to be as shocked as the rest, though her eyes gleamed.

Nanny ced a hand on her chest, still reeling. "Tell me, are you okay? Do I call Alice?"

The servants exchanged uneasy nces, whispering behind their hands.

Only the housekeeper broke the silence, his tone steady, almost too steady. "I’m fine. It’s nothing. idents happen."

Nnenna arched a brow, silently echoing the words in her head. ident, huh? We’ll see about that.

Nnenna froze mid thought as the sound of boots echoed down the corridor. A group of royal guards, armored in ck and silver, marched in formation toward Carl’s room.

Their polished breasttes gleamed, guns raised in perfect rhythm. At their head was Daniel, the head of security, broad shouldered, sharp eyed, every movement precise andmanding.

The atmosphere shifted instantly. The servants shrank back, whispering nervously. Nanny’s lips parted, rm shing in her eyes. Even the housekeeper’s usually steady aura seemed to still, though his expression didn’t change.

"Stand aside," Daniel ordered. His voice was firm, cutting through the hallway like steel. The guards stopped in unison, boots clicking agains the floor.
