Chapter 1815 - 1816: Xia Cheng’s Daring Valor

Chapter 1815: Chapter 1816: Xia Cheng’s Daring Valor

Thebat situation at the main base provided Xia Cheng with some psychologicalfort; though vicious, Little Ba’s army was defeated soundly by his men.

"Hit them hard, annihte them for me!" Xia Cheng shouted as he charged forward with an assault rifle.

The members of the Menghu Mercenary Corps were startled. Their usually gentle and somewhat effeminate leader was now practically a fierce force of nature.

Encouraged, all members of the Menghu Mercenary Corps rushed at Little Ba’s army without hesitation.

Already at a disadvantage, Little Ba’s troops lost the will to fight upon facing the charge of the Menghu Mercenary Corps and turned to flee.

The Commander assessed the situation and ordered all troops to retreat temporarily, regroup, and return to battleter.

Despite retreating, Little Ba’s army was trained well enough not to lose their formation.

Wu Jing and his team, hidden on another mountain, were amazed at the ferocity of the Menghu Mercenary Corps.

Fortunately, it was Little Ba’s army leading the charge this time; otherwise, his brothers would have suffered heavy losses.

"We’re retreating too," Wu Jing stated and quietly began to withdraw with his men to a distant spot.

After descending the mountain, Xia Cheng did not pursue them further, aware that outside this mountain, they would lose their advantage.

"Oh, oh..." cheered the members of the Menghu Mercenary Corps when they saw Little Ba’s army being scattered.

They never imagined they could repel Little Ba’s regr forces; it felt like dreaming.

"Boss, look at Little Ba’s army retreating like tortoises," one memberughed heartily.

"Indeed, today was an exhrating battle."

The Menghu Mercenary Corps’s confidence soared, feeling capable of conquering the world.

"Notify all units to prepare; we need to evacuate," Xia Cheng wasn’t foolish.

Though Little Ba’s army suffered serious damage, they would surely regroup to attack again.

Holding off Little Ba’s initial assault didn’t mean they could bnce against his forces indefinitely.

The people around Xia Cheng didn’t understand him; why leave now after a victory?

"Stop wasting time and notify everyone to prepare to retreat." Xia Cheng urged impatiently.

He wasn’t intoxicated by temporary victory; he knew Little Ba’s army wasn’t just that weak, or they’d have been defeated by rebels long ago.

Xiang Yu and Tie Zhuzi were leisurely drinking tea at that moment.

Tie Zhuziy bored, "Brother Yu, I wonder what’s happening over at Wu Jing’s side."

"Little Ba’s army underestimated the Menghu Mercenary Corps’s power; this first attack is bound to suffer." Xiang Yu said calmly.

With Little Ba’s troops leading, he wasn’t anxious now.

"Little Ba’s forces will suffer losses? Menghu Mercenary Corps can’t be that strong, right?" Tie Zhuzi doubted.

Just then, Wu Jing called, rying the situation to Xiang Yu.

Xiang Yu paused after listening, although he had anticipated the result, he hadn’t expected Xia Cheng to be so mighty; he had underestimated him before.

"Inform ourrades to hold their position and merely watch the unfolding events." Xiang Yu instructed seriously.

"Don’t worry Brother Yu, we’re safely here." Wu Jing replied excitedly.

Watching from afar was far more enjoyable than joining the fray.

Little Ba’s army retreated from the mountains and set up camp at a distance.

The temporary Commander of Little Ba’s forcesmunicated the situation over the phone with the third Commander.

"Commander, we request reinforcements; we’ve suffered heavy losses, and have littlebat strength left." The Commander said mournfully.

The third Commander gritted his teeth; entrusted with this mission by Ailock, it was a symbol of trust, and now the oue was disgraceful.

"You can step down as Commander and go home to farm." The third Commander said, hanging up abruptly.

Ailock, sitting across from him, already deduced the battlefield oue upon seeing his expression.

Without a word, the third Commander made a call.

"Start flying, bomb them to smithereens for me," he ordered fiercely.

He had prepared contingencies, hoping not to use them, but given the situation, it seemed unavoidable.

Ailock sat expressionless, exerting pressure on the third Commander.

"Leader, rest assured, we’ll definitely capture them this time," the third Commander stated nervously.

    "Hopefully," Ailock snorted coldly.

After a moment of silence, the third Commander asked, "What about Rumus?"

"That kid is talented; he should have been sent initially; otherwise, it wouldn’t be like this." Ailock sighed.

The third Commander wanted to say something but held back.

Ailock was clear: the boy should be utilized in the future, perhaps valuable in dealing with rebels.

In the northern-southern border area, a squad was traversing the jungle. The group was well-equipped, surrounding an individual.

This person dressed simply, with a bald head, slightly chubby, breathing heavily, none other than the former number two in Little Ba’s army, Rff.

Escorting him were brothers from Xiang Yu’s first battalion, avoiding main roads, moving through the jungle.

"Don’t move, halt." Suddenly, crowds emerged from the surroundings.

Camouged with green leaves, armed with guns, resembling Robin Hood’s men.

First battalion quickly reacted, surrounding Rff protectively, aiming weapons outward.

The situation was tense, a fight imminent.

Rff shouted, "Calm down, which path are you brothers on?"

Stepping forward, Rff sought confirmation these weren’t his men.

"Leader, it’s truly you," someone eximed in surprise from the group.

Rff eyed the person, not recognizing him.

The individual lowered his weapon, gesturing others to do the same, "Put the guns down, he’s our leader."

Recognizing Rff, the group quickly put away their guns.

"Leader, Commander Liao sent us for your safety; thank goodness you’re okay," the person said excitedly.

Rff, the rebel leader, had never been seen by them, only appearing on TV; now in person, they were inexplicably thrilled.

Rff felt immense joy knowing these were his men, having reached his territory after arduous days.

    "Where’s Liao Yuan?" Rff asked...
