Chapter 1782 - 1783: Xiang Yu Can’t Provide Evidence

Chapter 1782: Chapter 1783: Xiang Yu Can’t Provide Evidence

"Chief..." The officer seemed hesitant to speak.

Just as Ailock was about to sit on the sofa, he saw this and frowned slightly, "Is there something else?"

The officer looked around, then nced at Ailock again.

Ailock frowned even more, as his secretary stood at a distance, and several guards were stationed there.

The officer’s intention was clear; he wanted to speak with Ailock alone.

Not knowing what he intended, Ailock said, "Come to my study."

The officer nodded and followed him inside.

"What’s the matter, you can speak now," Ailock sat on the sofa, looking at the officer with confusion.

"Chief, I just lied," the officer stood there straight and said, "The assassin is not dead, he wants to meet you alone."

Ailock’s frown deepened upon hearing this.

"Did he ask you to do this?" Ailock asked the officer, bewildered.

The officer nodded without hiding anything.

Ailock stood up and walked to the window, looking out. Clearly, the assassin was doing this to cover his tracks; he was worried about the safety of those around him.

But Ailock also had another concern; what if the assassin really intended to kill him?

He had seen the assassin’s skills at the scene, and if it was just the two of them in the room, the assassin could easily kill him.

Ailock stayed silent for five minutes, then turned to the officer and said, "I agree to meet him alone."

At this moment, in Rff’s office, his secretary was on the phone.

"I understand." The secretary hung up after saying that and approached Rff, whispering, "Chief, the surgery failed, the assassin is dead."

"Are you sure?" Rff asked expressionlessly.

"The body has been brought back, should be no mistake," the secretary said.

Rff merely nodded, saying no more. The assassin dying was within the medical scope, he was not surprised.

"Continue surveince, don’t leave any trace." Rff finished speaking and stood up, heading out.

At the same time, in Tianyu Hospital, Liu Yuhang was organizing documents, when Cheng Wn walked in, looking restless.

Liu Yuhang saw her like this, and only then did he put down his work, looking at her, "Is there something wrong?"

Cheng Wn didn’t expect Liu Yuhang to be so calm and asked, puzzled, "I always feel something is going to happen."

Liu Yuhang smiled and said, "Don’t worry, nothing will happen."

Cheng Wn thought for a moment before saying, "That patient must be important; now we’ve let him die, they won’t let it slide."

Although Cheng Wn didn’t know the identity of the patient, he must be unusual, and someone like him dying in their hospital would be a serious problem.

"Don’t overthink it. I said there’s no problem." Liu Yuhangforted.

Cheng Wn furrowed her brow but reluctantly nodded.

Liu Yuhang noticed her unease and couldn’t help but say, "Do you know who the patient is?"

Cheng Wn hadn’t seen the patient’s face and naturally didn’t know, so she shook her head, "Do you know him?"

"Not only do I know him, but you also know him very well." Liu Yuhang smiled.

Seeing Liu Yuhang like this, Cheng Wn became even more puzzled. If it really was someone she knew, Liu Yuhang wouldn’t be this calm andposed.

Moreover, they barely interacted, so if it was someone known to both, it had to be someone from this hospital, or it could be Xiang Yu.

Thinking of Xiang Yu, Cheng Wn’s expression suddenly changed, and she hurriedly asked, "Who is it?"

"Xiang Yu," Liu Yuhang stated calmly.

"What?" Cheng Wn momentarily lost control and eximed. "Who did you say it was?" Cheng Wn asked urgently.

"Don’t panic. Sit down and listen to me slowly." Liu Yuhang said, seeing Cheng Wn’s face change dramatically.

Cheng Wn was already somewhat unsettled, her big eyes staring at Liu Yuhang.

Liu Yuhang knew Cheng Wn’s feelings for Xiang Yu, so he sighed and roughly exined what he knew.

After listening, Cheng Wn took a deep breath. The patient was indeed Xiang Yu, but he was not in any life-threatening danger.

"You scared me just now." Cheng Wn calmed herself, "Since it’s Xiang Yu, why is Little Ba’s Number One in such a hurry?"

Liu Yuhang shook his head, returning to his chair to continue organizing documents, casually saying, "I wouldn’t know, I’m not involved in Brother Yu’s matters."

Cheng Wn didn’t ask further; knowing Xiang Yu was not in danger, she rxed.

However, she felt somewhat sentimental, realizing how much Xiang Yu had developed in less than a year.

Even Little Ba’s Number One valued him so greatly.

Though Cheng Wn was worried about Xiang Yu, she also knew they were no longer in the same world.

"I’ll go check on the ward." Cheng Wn stood up and walked out.

At this moment, in a room deep within Little Ba’s presidential residence, Xiang Yu was sitting on a sofa, opposite him was Little Ba’s Number One, Ailock.

Ailock said nothing, just sat there quietly.

All these events were orchestrated by Xiang Yu; Ailock needed an exnation from him.

"I suppose you’ve realized by now that your system isn’t secure," Xiang Yu started.

"What did you mean by risking sending that note?" Ailock asked sternly.

"Obviously, I meant to warn you to be cautious," Xiang Yu replied directly.

"Nonsense, you’re trying to incriminate and cause division between Rff and me." Ailock stared at Xiang Yu.

Xiang Yu merely smiled faintly, "Chief, no need to probe me, I’ll be honest, I suspect Rff is with the rebel forces."

Ailock had prepared himself mentally, but hearing this from Xiang Yu still sent a chill through him.

Rff was unlike others; he was the number two in Little Ba’s military, second only to Ailock himself, wielding considerable power.

If Rff was indeed with the rebels, Little Ba’s current situation was very precarious.

"Evidence, I need evidence." Ailock gritted his teeth.

Even though he already believed Xiang Yu’s words, subconsciously, he was afraid to believe them; he needed Xiang Yu to produce evidence to prove this matter.

Only with solid evidence could he make the next move.

"There is no evidence," Xiang Yu responded bluntly.

Hearing this, Ailock first breathed a sigh of relief but also showed a look of disappointment.

"You may go," Ailock said, rubbing his forehead.

Without evidence, he wouldn’t easily believe Xiang Yu’s words...
