Chapter 1518 - 1519: Absolute Overwhelming Advantage

Chapter 1518: Chapter 1519: Absolute Overwhelming Advantage

Tie Zhuzi grinned at Xiang Yu and said, "Brother Yu, let’s go in too."

The scene was too intense, making Tie Zhuzi itch with excitement; he wanted to go in and experience the battlefield atmosphere.

Although the brothers of the Tianlong Squad had faced life and death situations before, this was the first time they’d encountered a battlefield with nes and tanks.

They were both afraid and excited, eager to give it a try.

Xiang Yu stood there with a furrowed brow, having an inexplicable sense of unease, as if something had gone wrong somewhere.

"Let’s wait a bit longer; it’s very dangerous now," Xiang Yu said.

Everyone was speechless, not understanding what Xiang Yu was waiting for. Rumus’s troops were already advancing inside, and judging by the pace, it would be over in a few minutes.

Going in after that would be meaningless, but Xiang Yu was very determined; without hismand, no one could enter.

He had already discussed with Rumus the bomb’s drop points and trusted that the bombs wouldn’t be ced near Zhong Min casually.

Cheng Wn was also a bit skeptical; they had a big advantage now and didn’t understand why Xiang Yu hadn’t given the order to charge in.

Rumusmanded his troops to slowly advance with armored vehicles and soldiers after a round of airne bombing.

He was monitoring the battlefield from an airne, seeing clearly that most insurgents were moving toward Zhong Min’s room.

Sitting in the airne, he called Xiang Yu.

"The person you mentioned is in danger now; aren’t you nning to save her?" Rumus said seriously.

His primary mission there was to fight the insurgents, not to rescue people.

Xiang Yu’s team was primarily there for the rescue. Seeing the insurgents gathering, Rumus reminded Xiang Yu.

He had an agreement with Xiang Yu not to drop bombs in that direction.

"I was just about to inform you. I feel something isn’t right, have your soldiers stay alert," Xiang Yu seriously advised.

"What do you mean?" This mission was dangerous, concerning all soldiers’ safety, so Rumus immediately paid attention when Xiang Yu spoke.

"I don’t know, just have a feeling that danger is approaching," Xiang Yu replied earnestly.

"Are you just guessing?" Rumus retorted dismissively, thinking it was something major.

"Never underestimate intuition; sometimes it’s very urate," Xiang Yu said.

"Crazy," Rumus said impatiently, "You better go in with my troops; otherwise, I can’t guarantee her safety."

After saying that, Rumus hung up the phone. Although he didn’t believe Xiang Yu’s words, he still notified the squad leaders to be on guard.

Several tanks paved the way upfront, with soldiers surrounding them, advancing slowly forward.

Even though their pace was slow, the base wasn’t that big, so it wouldn’t take long regardless.

Xia Cheng was anxious, pacing back and forth; if reinforcements didn’t arrive soon, they’d be finished.

Now, hiding around Zhong Min’s vi, they could hear the rumble of tanks in the distance, making them very nervous.

Some couldn’t bear it anymore and approached Xia Cheng, requesting a breakout. Waiting here meant sure death eventually.

A breakout at least offered a chance of survival.

Xia Cheng also felt shaky; he looked into the distance before nodding, "Everyone, prepare to break out."

Just as he finished speaking, his phone suddenly rang; it was Commander Cao.

"Hold on a little longer, reinforcements are arriving soon," Commander Cao’s voice was tense.

Xia Cheng didn’t know how long ’a little longer’ meant but getting the call boosted his spirits.

"Don’t worry, Commander Cao, I will hold on until reinforcements arrive," Xia Cheng firmly assured.

After hanging up, Xia Cheng shouted to his surroundings, "Everyone, get ready, prepare to counterattack."

Though most had lost hope, since Xia Cheng gave the order, they wouldply, or face death now.

Rumus’s regr army continued advancing. As they covered about a third of the base, intense gunfire erupted ahead.

Some soldiers, cking cover, were shot down immediately, while others hid behind tanks, firing back.

But unfamiliar with the terrain, their shooting was somewhat blind.

Things were different for the tanks, which, finding the general direction, fired a shell.

The tank’s power was immense, able to destroy half a building, utterly annihting anyone inside.

Xia Cheng’s men, hiding around buildings, initiallyunched a few sneak attacks, but witnessing the tank’s might, they dared not show themselves.

At this moment, on top of a distant building, someone started sweeping with a heavy machine gun.

The machine gun’s power was immense, firing thousands of bullets per minute.

Dense bullets poured relentlessly toward their position, leaving many soldiers lying on the ground.

Two tanks targeted the direction and fired without hesitation.

One aimed at the upper part of the building, the other at the lower part.

After two loud booms, the building copsed, and the heavy machine-gun fire ceased.

The impact of those two shells was significant, silencing the surroundings abruptly, with no one daring to fire secretly.

They hid stealthily, unwilling to reveal themselves even in capture.

Xiang Yu and his team remained in the distance, not advancing, watching the grand scene in awe as the two tanks disyed their power.

"These big guys really aren’t just for show," Tie Zhuzi said excitedly.

Though they had seen several armored vehicles in the city before, those had no artillery andcked realbat effectiveness. Seeing it firsthand now, they realized the power.

Being in the actual scene was nothing like watching on TV.

Xiang Yu had brought them to experience a real battlefield, to gain more experience, and now the purpose was fulfilled.

However, Xiang Yu still felt an unexinable bad omen inside; he didn’t know why.

Rumus seemed to haveplete control of the battlefield; continuing like this, it would be over in half an hour.

The disparity in strength was vast, with the army having an overwhelming advantage.

Rumus was also excited; victory was within reach, and eliminating these insurgents would be a huge achievement...
