Chapter 1223: Chapter 1223: Grueling Wilderness Survival

Xiang Yu endured his sadness and quickly headed towards the waterfall. Along the way, he calmed his emotions, and only then reced his face with a smile.
When he arrived at the waterfall, he didn’t find any trace of the two of them. A surprise shed in his heart. Could it be that Wang Qian and the other person were also captured?
"Ah!" At this moment, Xiao Fei suddenly jumped out from behind, startling Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu cooperated with an exaggerated frightened gesture.
Xiao Fei looked at Xiang Yu happily and said, "Has my mome?"
Xiang Yu responded with a mysterious smile, "You guess?"
"I bet she’s noting. She told me not to wander around at night," Xiao Fei pouted.
Xiang Yu patted her head and said, "Let’s go, let’s see what fun things are ahead. We’ll tell your mom all about itter."
Xiao Fei hesitated for a bit; it was already dark, and usually, at this time, she’d be home having dinner. Now, Xiang Yu wanted to keep moving forward, and she was a bit unwilling.
Wang Qian kept observing Xiang Yu’s face. Xiang Yu wore a big smile, and from his face, it was impossible to discern any clues.
"Xiao Fei, listen to big brother, let’s move forward," Wang Qian said, trying to lift Xiao Fei.
Xiao Fei could only nod.
Xiang Yu led the way ahead, feeling his way forward in the dark. The terrain didn’t bother him; if he wasn’t injured, he could get through this forest in one night.
But Wang Qian was struggling a bit while carrying Xiao Fei, as Xiao Fei was already a big child.
Wang Qian tried to chat with Xiao Fei, hoping she wouldn’t resist.
After walking for a while, Wang Qian suddenly noticed that Xiao Fei had fallen asleep on her, making her arms sore from the weight.
"Let me," Xiang Yu turned around, took Xiao Fei into his arms, and continued moving forward.
"What exactly happened?" Wang Qian asked from behind.
She knew something must have happened, otherwise Xiang Yu wouldn’t be in such a hurry to leave.
"I’m fed up with living here and don’t want to stay another moment," Xiang Yu replied simply.
Listening to Xiang Yu’s calm tone, which didn’t sound like he was lying, Wang Qian didn’t think much more and continued to follow behind him.
Wang Qian found it strange; wasn’t Xiang Yu injured? Now, carrying a person, he was still moving faster than she was, which frustrated her.
As someone trained professionally, how could the gap be so big? Unwilling to be left behind, she struggled to keep up.
Xiang Yu walked for a long time, finally getting exhausted and sat down.
By then, Wang Qian was already worn out, panting, and pointed at Xiang Yu, breathlessly questioning, "What really happened?"
She knew if nothing had happened, Xiang Yu wouldn’t be in such a rush to move on.
Xiang Yu made a shushing gesture, as Xiao Fei was still asleep in his arms, and he didn’t want her to hear the truth yet.
Seeing this, Wang Qian understood, feeling saddened. She had gotten along very well with the women; despite the twenty-year age difference, they were like sisters.
Leaving without seeing them onest time was hard to bear.
The forest at night was a bit cold, so Xiang Yu carefully took off his clothes to cover Xiao Fei.
Seeing Xiang Yu’s muscr body with those shocking scars, Wang Qian couldn’t help but shudder inwardly.
"Are you cold?" Wang Qian asked anxiously, looking at Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu shook his head and asked, "How’s your stamina?"
"If you’re okay, then I am too," Wang Qian gritted her teeth and said.
She knew her stamina was nearly spent, close to the limit, but Xiang Yu seemed unaffected.
"Then let’s go," Xiang Yu said, gently picking up Xiao Fei and continuing forward.
Xiao Fei slept soundly in Xiang Yu’s arms, hugging his neck with a smile, as if dreaming of something delicious.
They traveled a bit farther before Xiang Yu finally couldn’t help but gently ce Xiao Fei onto the grass, and he sat down heavily as well.
Wang Qian couldn’t go any further, lying there, breathing heavily, and said, "Xiang Yu, you’re such a freak."
Xiang Yu didn’t respond, leaning against a rock to regain his strength. Unconsciously, he fell asleep there.
When the morning sunlight pierced through the woods onto Xiang Yu’s face, he quickly sat up.
Wang Qian and Xiao Fei were still asleep, lying there soundly.
Xiang Yu gathered some mushrooms and other fungi from around.
"Get up and eat," Xiang Yu said, nudging Wang Qian’s shoulder with his foot.
Wang Qian groggily got up, feeling sore all over from the night’s exertion.
"Did you just kick me?" Wang Qian asked, annoyed, looking at Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu quickly denied, "How could that be? You must have been dreaming."
Wang Qian chose to ignore him and went over to wake Xiao Fei.
After wiping her sleepy eyes, Xiao Fei looked around curiously, realizing she wasn’t at home, and asked Xiang Yu, "Where are we now?"
"We’re on a wilderness survival training, to see if you can survive in the wild," Xiang Yu chuckled.
Full of curiosity, Xiao Fei said, "With big brother around, we can definitely survive."
"Of course, with me here, rest assured. Come, eat something," Xiang Yu said, cing a clean mushroom in Xiao Fei’s mouth.
Xiao Fei chewed on it hesitantly but soon spat it out, pouting, "This tastes awful; can we cook it?"
Xiang Yu pouted back, "No way, we’re on a wilderness training; where’s the fire? Eat up, we have more training ahead."
Oblivious to why they suddenly started training, Xiao Fei found it intriguing and nodded, epting what Xiang Yu gave her.
Watching Xiang Yu eat heartily, Wang Qian also took some from him and began to eat.
As soon as she tasted it, she felt nauseous and quickly ran aside, almost throwing up.
"I won’t eat this," Wang Qian dered, tossing it aside.
"This is essential for forest survival; if you don’t want to eat it, don’t waste it. There won’t be such delicious thingster," Xiang Yu said, picking it up and eating it.
"What do you mean by no delicious things?" Wang Qian asked, puzzled.
Xiang Yu smiled mysteriously, "You’ll find outter."
Seeing Xiang Yu smile gave Wang Qian the creeps, so she quickly went over, grabbed some, and kept them for herself...
