Chapter 1283: Chapter 1283: [Special Episode] The Wedding (Part 18)
All the way from the Royal Pce, after getting into the car to return to thepany, she flipped open the files she hadn’t finished reading on the ne. Clearly, her eyes were on the file, reading “and,” but in her mind, it transformed into “abel.”
“Damn it!”
Betty closed the files forcefully, lifting her hand to pinch her temples.
The assistant turned his head.
“Are you alright?”
Betty frowned and exhaled softly, prompting the assistant to gently suggest.
“How about I take you back to the hotel to rest for a while?”
“No need, head to thepany.”
The day after tomorrow is when the project officially starts, and that bastard Abel still isn’t around, making Betty too nervous to rx with such a significant project.
This project is a coboration between three countries and has considerable impact; she must ensure everything is impable.
The assistant, feeling helpless, instructed the driver to take her to thepany.
Once arrived at thepany, Betty immediately perked up.
Meetings, checking the entiremencement process…
Every task she wasn’t supposed to personally oversee, she inspected each one thoroughly, remaining busy untilte at night before returning to the hotel.
She instructed the assistant to go rest, and she sat on the sofa reviewing her speech for the project’smencement. She only read a few lines before sumbing to sleep against the sofa back.
A momentter, someone swiped open the door, and a tall figure quietly walked in, approaching the sofa. Seeing Betty clutching the files, the person sighed gently.
Taking the files from her hand quietly, the man bent down to lift her from the sofa, carrying her into the bedroom and cing her on the bed. He took off her shoes and jacket and then untied her hair, letting it loose, before pulling the nket over her.
After lowering the curtains, the man walked back to the bedside, gently touched her sharp chin, sighed lowly, and turned off the smallmp on the table.
After leaving the living room, the man didn’t leave but sat on the sofa, picked up her phone on the table, turned off the rms, and sent a message to her assistant.
Then, the man took the files, reviewed them meticulously from beginning to end, noticed a discrepancy in some data, and took a pen to make careful corrections… By the time he finished reviewing all the files, dawn was already breaking outside.
He walked to the bedroom to look at Betty sleeping soundly on the bed, then exited the guest room, casually hanging a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door.
…
…
The next morning, Betty woke to find the sun high in the sky.
Opening her eyes, she nced around, stretched her waist while seeing the shirt she still wore, and frowned reflexively.
How did she end up in bed without taking off her clothes?
Rising, she looked at the neatly ced high heels by the bed and raised her eyebrows in confusion, stepping barefoot into the living room. Seeing the bright weather outside the window, she rushed to the coffee table and grabbed her phone.
The time indicated that it was almost noon.
“You’ve got to be kidding me?!”
How could she have slept till now?
Why didn’t the rm go off, and… Why hadn’t she heard the room service today either?
She’d set two rms on her phone to prevent oversleeping.
Betty quickly essed her phone, discovering that the rms weren’t active; both were switched off.
Is her phone broken?
She couldn’t remember turning off those rms!
This is ridiculous; wasn’t the assistant supposed to wake her before seven like promised yesterday?
