62 -62: No Memory of Last Night
Chi Yue’s face felt slightly hot, “Sorry…
sorry.”
She thought Fu Rongyin had those kinds of thoughts again.
After taking off Fu Rongyin’s coat and cing it aside, Chi Yue just sat on the sofa and didn’t move.
Her abdomen was bloated and her back ached.
If it wasn’t for Fu Rongyin asking her toe over, she would be lying motionlessly in bed by now.
“Have you eaten?” he asked.
Chi Yue shook her head.
“Steak?”
“That would be fine.”
“Wait here.”
Chi Yue suddenly realized something, looked up, and saw Fu Rongyin had already rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, revealing his muscr forearms.
“Mr.
Fu, you’re going to cook yourself?”
“Don’t trust my cooking skills?”
“…No.”
She just hadn’t expected that such a refined gentleman, who seemed so detached from worldly concerns, would actually cook himself.
Seeing Fu Rongyin enter the kitchen, Chi Yue simply closed her eyes to rest.
Fu Rongyin came out with the steak, but found Chi Yue had fallen asleep on the sofa.
He ced the food on the dining table and called her.
Chi Yue, half-asleep, brushed away his hand, “Don’t disturb me, my stomach really hurts, let me sleep a bit.”
Fu Rongyin paused, instinctively looking at her abdomen.
A momentter, he seemed to understand something, patted her face, “Do you have any painkillers?”
“Mm, in my bag.”
Fu Rongyin opened her bag, and the sight of several bottles of medication greeted him.
At first, he felt the bottles looked familiar, quickly recalling that Chi Yue had left a bag herest time.
That bag had also contained these medications, which he hadn’t scrutinized closely; only now did he understand they were painkillers and supplements for revitalizing blood.
Fu Rongyin brought the medications to her, “Get up and take some medicine before you sleep.”
Chi Yue didn’t respond.
Upon closer inspection, she was deeply asleep.
Fu Rongyin stared at her sleeping face for a long while, then resignedly carried her to the guest room.
In the end, he ate the steak alone, and after finishing, he went to his study to work on some documents.
When he emerged from the study, it was alreadyte at night, and Fu Rongyin’s gaze lingered on his own bed.
Chi Yue had somehow made her way to his room, curling up at the edge of the bed, a small bundle.
Perhaps Fu Rongyin found her pitiful to look at, and was toozy to take her back again.
The next day.
Chi Yue woke up in Fu Rongyin’s arms, different from thest time; this time, she was resting on his hand, nestled in his embrace.
His handid on her abdomen, his palm continuously transferring warmth to her.
Chi Yue couldn’t remember why she was here; she only remembered falling asleep on the sofa.
Getting out of bed quietly, Chi Yue swiftly left Fu Rongyin’s room.
After quickly washing up, Chi Yue prepared to head to the kitchen to make breakfast.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Chi Yue walked to the entrance, peeked through the peephole, and felt her soul nearly leave her body.
She turned and ran toward the master bedroom, “Fu…”
Fu Rongyin was putting on his clothes, wearing only that scant piece of cloth.
Chi Yue, a beat too slow, turned around, her face heating up again, “Mr.
Fu, Miss Gu is here, I’ll go hide in the guest room.”
Fu Rongyin continued dressing, ncing at her retreating figure, “You weren’t this shy when you climbed into my bedst night.”
Chi Yue: “…I don’t remember anything fromst night.”
“Stay here, don’t go out.”
With that, he strode out of the bedroom.
Chi Yue hurriedly went to close the door, hesitated for a while, and decided to hide behind it.
Outside, Gu Qingyu finally saw Fu Rongyine to open the door, noticing he was dressed in home attire, she said with a smile, “Brother AhYin, aunt said you had a day off today, so she asked me to bring you some food.”
