Ulrik sent a messenger to fetch his sister, Sabrina, so she could see their mother onest time.

She t–out refused. She hadn’t even shown up for Tamara’s funeral, iming the whole affair was “bad luck.”

With the public currently tearing the Bloodmoon Pack apart, thest thing she wanted was to be associated with them and risk her standing in her social circles.

Now, the only person left by Rosemary’s side was the ever–loyal Sandra.

Death and despair had be a dual curse, tightening around her heart like a physical lock.

The night of the Moon Goddess Grace Festival–traditionally a time for families to gather for a celebratory roast–found Rosemary bedridden and fading.

She reached out a skeletal hand, clutching Sandra’s arm, and begged through tears, “Sandra… go get Adide. Tell her toe. I have things to say to her.”

Sandra sighed, her voice heavy. “Luna Adide isn’ting.”

“Tell her I was wrong… I was truly wrong.”

Rosemary’s eyes were ssy and fixed, her sunken cheeks making her look like a living corpse.

Sandra sat by the bed, weeping silently.

“What’s the use of knowing you’re wrong now?” Sandra asked. “Think of how much glory you had when Adide was here. Even Dr. Digby came to your door personally to treat you. Back then, when you were so ill, you would have died if Adide hadn’t used her connections to bring him here.”

    “Tell her I’m sorry… I’ll apologize to her… just have her find…”

Rosemary struggled for air, her throat making a sound like a broken bellows.

“Have her get Dr. Digby… to save me.”

Sandra looked at her, and the final shred of pity in her heart evaporated.

Despite having served Rosemary for decades, Sandra felt a crushing wave of disappointment.

She had almost believed Rosemary had actually repented.

But no. Rosemary only wanted to apologize because she knew Adide was the only one who could save her life.

Sandra gently pulled her hand away, her voice soft but resolute. “I’m not going.”

Rosemary stared at the omega in disbelief.

“You… you’re going to just watch me die? You’re so cruel!”

She gasped violently, groaning in agony as she felt her life force slipping away.

And yet, not a single person by her side was willing to help.

Meanwhile, Adide and Lance remained silent in the face of the public outcry and controversy. They offered no official response.

By the second Royal Council meeting, the proposal still hadn’t passed.

By the third meeting, the hostility toward Lance had reached a fever pitch. A coalition of high- ranking Alphas had formed specifically to shut him down.

An elderly, arch–conservative Alpha councilor stood up, his voice booming with indignation.

“Lance! You are dismantling the very foundation of our society! You’re indulging these restless she–wolves and building them a sanctuary? Are you even an Alpha anymore? Has your wolf been reced by apdog’s?”

Lance didn’t even blink in the face of the furious roars echoing through the hall.

He simply scanned the room, his gaze cutting like a de across the faces of the Alphas.

“Only a weak, cowardly male wolf who habitually abuses his mate would oppose this proposal,” he said, his voice ringing through the vast chamber. “I’m curious–are all the noble Alphas in this room that kind of wolf?”

After a brief, dead silence, the hall erupted in even more violent protest.

“That’s absurd! Your logic is shallow!”

“You’re challenging the traditional roots of the werewolf world! Lance, your arrogance is an insult to our ancestors!”

Lance curled his lip into a smirk.

“You didn’t answer my question. What are you afraid of?”

“Aside from Lunas, she–wolves don’t need a high level of education to fulfill their roles!” another yelled. “Education leads to the copse of pack order!”

Elias, who had been sitting idly by, rolled his eyes and drawled, “I seriously don’t get your logic. Providing she–wolves with some help and job opportunities would only make them more grateful and loyal to the pack. How does that lead to chaos?”

    Elias’s gaze suddenly sharpened.

“By giving she–wolves a way to survive, what exactly is it that you’re so terrified of?”

Normally, Elias kept his mouth shut in these settings, but he’d been given strict orders by his mate: today, he had to back Lance.

Adide stood quietly in a corner of the hall, taking in the heated debate.

    She hadn’t said a word.

In an arena dominated by Alphas, her position was too sensitive.

As a she–wolf and the primary beneficiary of the proposal, jumping in to speak for all females would only trigger a more violent bacsh.

Interests dictate positions–that was the eternal truth.

No matter how eloquent she was, she couldn’t outtalk a room full of forty angry, shouting Alphas.

    So, she waited.

Like a patient hunter, she waited for a signal from the one on the throne.

Sure enough, as the argument between Lance, Elias, and the conservatives reached its peak, Lycan Erasmus gave a soft cough.

It wasn’t a loud sound, but it carried the overwhelming pressure of the Lycan bloodline, instantly silencing the hall.

His inscrutable eyes pierced through the crowd andnded precisely on Adide.

“Adide, I want to hear your thoughts.”
