Seeing that Germain had made up his mind, Raven reluctantly said, “If you insist on doing this, I suggest the assassins disguise themselves as Madison’s own people, here to rescue her. But Adide is personally leading the escort. It won’t be easy to kill or rescue anyone on her watch.”
“We have to try.” Germain hadn’t been able to sleep welltely, and he looked much older and
more worn out.
He added, “First, find out the exact time of the escort. Ten people should be enough. Since we can’t use Madison’s people right now, use Silverlight members to gather information.”
Raven nodded. “Alright.”
By the next evening, the Ministry of Justice had finalized the escort ns.
They had initially nned to use a prison wagon but decided instead to use unmarked vehicles to transport Madison, keeping her out of public view.
Adide was leading the detail herself, with thirty members of the Capital Guard providing escort. Ellen was leading the way.
As dusk fell, the sky darkened. The cold wind wasn’t biting, but it was colder than during the day. Winter was closing in.
The vehicles left the Ministry of Justice. Ellen rode his motorcycle ahead to clear the path.
Adide rode her own motorcycle alongside the cars.
Capital Guard members were positioned around the vehicles–front, back, and sides—in a tight formation.
Since they weren’t using a prison wagon, the public didn’t know what therge convoy was for.
The hottest topics of discussiontely, besides Madison’s treason case, were Luna Adide’s new role as Commander of the Ironthorn Army.
Someone recognized her and gasped. “That’s Gamma Adide! I’ve seen her before!”
“Really? Wow, she looks so powerful!”

“It’s the first time a she–wolf has held such a high office!”
“She’s even fought on the battlefield!”

“But she’s really… ah, I don’t even know how to describe it! I’m not educated enough to find the words! She’s just so beautiful and so powerful. I’ve never seen an official who looks this good!”
“Who is in those cars? Why is the escort so big?”
The loud chatter of the crowd drowned out the wind, reaching Adide’s ears, but she paid it no mind.
Her eyes were sharp, listening for any unusual sounds.
They passed Swallow Stone Street. The Detention Center was just three miles ahead.
Adide knew that if anyone was going to make a move, it would happen right after they crossed this street.
Just as they drove out of Swallow Stone Street, the nd on the back of Adide’s neck suddenly burned.
Her cedarwood scent uncontrobly leaked out. The air was thick with a dangerous mix of rust and rot. It was so strong that her wolf let out a warning growl in her mind. <fn8ab6> Updates are released by f?ndnovel</fn8ab6>
She knew this scent too well. The night the Blood Moon Pack was attacked, the invaders were wrapped in the same stench, a smell that clung to them like a parasite.
Her mentor, Irene, had told her where these people came from: they were rogues who climbed out of piles of corpses. Every one of them had blood on their ws that would never wash off.
Even if they were swift fighters, they always carried the smell of death and decay.
It was a scent most werewolves couldn’t detect, but one that instantly alerted a high–ranking Alpha.
“All hands on alert!” Adide’s voice, wrapped in her Alpha aura, cut through the wind. Silver- blue vertical pupils shed in her eyes.
The escort detail instantly stiffened. Their palmspleted a partial shift: cold, silvery wolf ws tore through skin. Sulphur and Ironthorn scentbined, forming a defensive barrier in the air. Everyone gripped their weapons, their wolf ears twitching for any movement.
As they reached an intersection, a sharp nging sound cut through the air.

Adide’s wolf cars instantly turned toward the source, her vertical pupils reflecting a ck figure in the shadows of a building.
“Stop!” Ellen raised his hand, signaling the convoy to halt. His beta presence exploded out, and he yelled at the onlookers. “Assassins! Danger! Get away!”
His ws gleamed in his palm. The urgency in his voice made the few werewolves on the street turn and run.
At that moment, a w smeared with wolfsbane flew through the air, carrying the sharp smell of poison.
Adide leapt into the air like a silver wolf, her palms instantlypleting a partial shift–five cold, silver–blue ws crossed in front of her.
With a sharp ng, the werewolf fell to the side.
Then, ten assassins in ckbat gear, with red vertical pupils visible behind their masks, jumped down from the building.
Their weapons glinted coldly. Their scent carried unconcealed murderous intent, and they rushed straight at Adide. She was clearly their only target.
A cold light shed in Adide’s eyes. Her cedarwood scent exploded like a storm, her ws a blur in her palms.
She mmed her five ws hard into the ground. The pavement instantly cracked in a spiderweb pattern. Her Alpha aura spread through the cracks, forcing the front line of assassins <i>to </i>stumble back, groans of pain caught in their throats.
“Attack!” Ellen flew forward. His ws scraped against a long sword, sending a shriek of sparks into the air.
His sulphur scent was heavy with battle lust. “First Squad, stay to guard the car. Everyone else, follow me!”
Adide’s ws were both offense and defense, barely giving five assassins a chance to fight back.
If she hadn’t been careful to avoid their vital organs, she would have already ripped out their throats. Even so, the assassins were forced back, blood dripping from their ws onto the ground.
