    The words were meant for both the Wall family members and Heath.


    After hearing them, Heath looked a little calmer.

    He thought about his father’s character and his parents‘ deep love for each other. It was impossible for his father to have a secret lover.


    He figured, if this was something Lance had found out, it might be believable. But if Adide was the one who investigated it, she probably just heard some gossip and believed it without checking the facts.


    As for why Adide didn’te, she was probably worried about getting the cold shoulder like at the Mist Shadow Pack. So she asked Lance to deliver the message instead.


    Lance was in charge of the treason case, focusing on the big picture, so he wouldn’t pay attention to these small details.


    He must have trusted that Adide had already done the legwork, which was why he came to tell them.


    And Lance was a careful guy. He wanted to tell Stanley in person, so he sent someone aheadst night.


    Stanley, thinking Adide would be the one to show up, left the pack this morning.


    Lance waited for an hour, didn’t see Stanley, and got angry. That’s why he just blurted it out.


    If Stanley had been there, Lance would have said, “I heard this rumor,” and asked if it was true. If it wasn’t, he would’ve told Stanley to look into it.


    Yeah, when Heath thought about it that way, the news might not be true at all.


    Heath believed that even if they could keep this a secret from outsiders, they couldn’t keep it from the Styxwarden Pack forever.


    With so many people around, it was only a matter of time before his grandfather and mother found out.


    He said, “I’ll go to Adide and confirm this. If she’s going to use my father of having a secret lover based on some gossip, I won’t let it go.”


    “Good, you should,” his uncle said.

    Heath drove to the Capital Guard headquarters but was told that Adide had already been called to the pce.


    As the Lycan Luna’s brother, he couldn’t go to the pce whenever he wanted, but if he gave them a heads–up and said he was there to see her, he could get in.


    Once he arrived, he had someone check if Adide was still there.


    When he found out she was, he immediately sent a servant to let his sister know.


    When he saw Cami, Heath said, “Adide is in Lycan Erasmus’s study right now. Could you please have someone go get her for me?”


    “What happened?” Cami asked, seeing his serious expression. She got worried.


    Adide’s job with the Ministry of Justice was special. Had she found something out about Styxwarden?


    “Just have someone do it,” Heath said.


    Cami quickly instructed one of her omegas. “Anya, go right now. The moment Adidees out, bring her to me.”


    Anya left immediately.


    After that, Heath exined everything to Cami. “Adide and the Capital Guard went to the Mist Shadow Pack yesterday and waited for an hour before they were let in. Our father guessed she woulde to our pack today, and sure enough, ckthorn sent someonest night to tell him to wait for them around ten this morning.”


    “What?” Cami interrupted him before he could finish. She was angry.


    “Why does our father have to wait for her? What kind of job does she have that makes her so important?”


    “Just let me finish,” Heath said, looking at his emotional sister.


    “Our father, of course, didn’t want to see her in person, so he left with mother this morning. Before they left, he told Zane to let the Capital Guard in. But it wasn’t Adide who showed up. It was Alpha Lance.”

    Cami was shocked. She took a deep breath. “That’s not possible! It’s absolutely impossible!”


    Heath calmly analyzed the situation. “I know the Capital Guard is investigating Madison’s pack. They probably did n for Adide toest night. But she was called to the pce today, so Lance came instead. But Adide is the one who knows the whole story. If she’s going to im our father has a lover based on some rumors, we have to get to the bottom of this!”


    Cami said with frustration, “No matter what, our father would never do something like that. They must have made a mistake in their investigation. Has the news gotten out?”


    “Only people inside Styxwarden know. I won’t let anyone leak it,” Heath replied.
