Adide adjusted her hat–she still wasn’t used to it.

“Madison’spletely down now. Germain and the others will surely want to probe what Madison’s confessed, if anything. Given her past associations with officials, I bet no one dares contact her now. I reckon your cousin Sadi mighte to you,” Adide exined.
Paisley’s face fell, and she said firmly, “She won’t get a single word out of me! Don’t worry about me spilling the beans. She’s not clever enough to charm me.”
After a pause, she turned to Adide and realized, “You want me to pretend to be on good terms with her and wheedle information out of her?”
Adide shook her head, “No need. Just keep your usual attitude toward her. She’ll probablye with Maya.”
Maya’s cautious and attentive. If you show the slightest suspicion of Blue Abyss, she’ll sense it,” Adide said.
“So what? Since she mated Germain, I’ve never been nice to her. I’ll just keep doing the same,” Paisley said nonchntly.
Adide agreed, “Right, don’t suddenly be warm–that’d be strange and might arouse their suspicion.”
“Got it. Aren’t you heading to the pce? You should go,” Paisley urged.
Adide nced outside but didn’t move.
“Why not leave?” Paisley asked curiously.
Adide smiled sheepishly, “I’m just… excited and woke up too early. It’s still dark.”
“You’ll arrive at the pce as the sky lightens,” Paisley said.
“There’s no royal meeting today. Lycan Erasmus likely won’t go to the study this early,” Adide exined.
Paisley was puzzled, “Didn’t Fabian tell you the exact time?”
Adide replied embarrassedly, “He said seven in the morning.”

Paisley’s features scrunched up, “It’s only four now! Why wake up so carly? You could have slept in.”
Adide stood up and paced restlessly, “I’m just… nervous.”
Paisleyughed and took her hand, “You had me worried! Let’s go out and rx.”
“Sure.” Adide kicked her legs, her muscles tensing and rxing instantly. She became excited, “I haven’t exercised in a long time. Let’s practice today! But let’s agree–it’s just casual, no serious fighting.”
Paisley released her hand and lightly put her foot on the bluestone, leaping half a meter high with the natural werewolf sticity. Landing with pheromone waves, she said, “No weapons, no real fight. Unless you want to bite?”
The yard wind suddenly split as Adide punched straight, her knuckles partially shifting, silver wolf hair wrapping Alpha aura.
Paisley blocked with her elbow. The “thud” of elbow and fist colliding sent pheromones sparking–yet no hostility.
As they moved, Adide’s cedar pheromones grew hot.
The morning breeze swept away the heat. Her neck’s fading mark rippled in the wind.
At daybreak, Avery’s cypress pheromones arrived with suppressed pressure and a cheerfulugh, “Count me in!”
The yard erupted.
Avery sometimes tapped their shoulders with restrained pheromones, disrupting rhythm; sometimes fake–attacked, but reined in before his wolf ws touched Adide’s shoulder de.
“You swinging ws at my face?”
Paisley roared, sulfur pheromones surging. As she shifted steps, her calf muscles tripled in size, kicking at him.
The silvered wolf hair on her foot glittered in the dawn light.
Avery’s cedar pheromones burst withughter. Sidestepping Adide, his palm had shifted, silver ws glinting in the sun. “Adide, take my punch!”
The punch was thrown but deliberately slowed, ws tightly reined.

“Pffft!” Avery’s punch veered, nding solidly on Adide’s eye socket.
Adide’s pupils slit instinctively. Her werewolf defense was a beatte.

Clutching her eye and retreating, she growled hoarsely, “Are you insane? I’m heading to the pce today!”
Looking in the mirror, her eye socket was just turning pink.
“You’re in trouble now.” Paisley’s sulfur pheromones sharpened instantly. Her fist creaked with tension, wolf ws glinting coldly.
“Keep showing off! Keep boasting! We were just fooling around, not really fighting!”
Her punch was powerful. Avery “boom” hit the ground.
