“Of course, I wouldn’t dare to tantly storm Madison’s mansion. I knew that every Moon Newborn Festival, her mansion would invite priests, and the Royal Patrol and Capital Guard would focus on this area,” Lance said.
“So, I figured we could use the ‘intruder‘ ruse to draw them to Madison’s mansion, letting them handle the rescue,” he added.
Lycan Erasmus pressed on, “Anything else you’re hiding? Did you truly have no inkling of Madison’s treason? No idea about the armor and weapons stashed in her mansion?”
Lance looked up, calm and forthright. “No, I was genuinely in the dark. And Madison, a royal princess with only a daughter–why would she plot treason?”
This question struck a chord with Lycan Erasmus.
He stared at Lance, a sharp glint in his eye, before motioning for him to sit.
As Lance settled back into his seat, Lycan Erasmus mentally sifted through all potential suspects.
He had his doubts, but most seemed unlikely.
The individual in question was often away from the capital, returning only due to Pandora’s illness, with no abnormalities reported from Blue Ridge State.
As for those in the capital—Aldrich and Howell were imusible candidates for treason. The other lords in their fiefs, indulging in hedonistic lifestyles, were equally unlikely <i>to </i>plot rebellion.
But wait, Germain couldn’t be ruled out.
Germain’s second mating with a she–wolf from the Stephens family–a family involved in royal arms production and the crafting of weapons and armor for the Royal Army–raised suspicions.
Yet without werewolf warriors, how could he possibly rebel? <fnf30d> Th? link to the orig?n of this information r?sts ?n </fnf30d>
The werewolf warriors were scattered across various regions, making it no easy feat to rally them.

The Doyle family was certainly no ally. Tad, newly in charge of the Royal Army and restrained by Alpha Bentley’s forces, couldn’t be persuaded by Germain.
Given the current scenario, the most likely individual was sitting right there in the study.
If this situation hadn’t been exposed by Lance, he would have been the prime suspect.
But things were different now. If Lance and Germain had colluded to orchestrate a rebellion and deliberately unveiled Madison’s secrets, it would have severely backfired on them.
No one plotting treason would intentionally inflict such self–damage.
Even considering past conflicts between Adide and Madison, Adide wouldn’t use treason as a means of revenge.
Moreover, it was undeniable that Germain couldn’tmand Lance’s loyalty.
After reviewing these possibilities, Lycan Erasmus’s gaze softened toward Lance, though a trace of scrutiny lingered.
He said slowly, “Whether Madison confesses will depend on the Ministry of Justice’s methods.”
“Anyone in particr you suspect?” Lance asked.
Lycan Erasmus hesitated, then said, “No. We’ll see who Madison implicates. If you have someone in mind, speak freely–I absolve you of me.”
Lance sighed inwardly. Lycan Erasmus likely already suspected Germain but wouldn’t voice it.
Clearly, trust between them wasn’t absolute.
This meant the Ministry of Justice couldn’t legitimately investigate Germain. If everything proceeded ndestinely, Lycan Erasmus’s suspicions would furtherplicate matters.
After a moment of reflection, Lance dered, “I suspect Germain.”
“Why?” Lycan Erasmus probed immediately. “What evidence do you have?”
Lance shook his head. “No concrete evidence. I’m just voicing a thought as you asked.”
“Madison and Germain grew up alongside Pandora. Their sibling bond was exceptionally close. Moreover, Germain’s mating with the she–wolf from the Stephens family—a family responsible for royal arms production…”
Lycan Erasmus cut in, “That’s not enough. What about werewolf warriors? Who would he

Lance knew Lycan Erasmus was referring to the wolf generalsmanding the legions.
At present, no evidence linked Germain to any of them.
But it was evident that Lycan Erasmus had begun suspecting these wolf generals and intended to investigate along this line.
This signaled an imminent, rge–scale scrutiny of wolf generals, with the Ironthorn Legion and the Capital Outer Defense Legion likely to be first in the crosshairs.
The first to be affected would likely be the Iron Thorn Legion and the Capital Outer Defense Legion.
Tension filled the air. Lance’s cedar pheromones tensed slightly.
As the Ironthorn Legion’smander, he understood its significance all <i>too </i>well.
The Ironthorn’smander was himself, with Adide as deputy. The Capital Outer Defense Legion, meanwhile, was led by Gamma Valens.
The Valens family had served with unwavering loyalty for generations. Moreover, Gamma Valens, advanced in age, was beyond any possibility of treason.
Yet once Lycan Erasmus harbored suspicions, life for these wolf generals would be increasingly precarious.
