Chapter 238: Chapter 238: A Touch of Love’s Nourishment is Needed

"Then I’ll trouble you, senior." Yun Shifei smiled at Ye Yi.
The girl smiled faintly, her eyes curving like crescent moons. Under the sunlight, they glimmered like a clear pool, shimmering with delicate light.
Ye Yi momentarily lost himself, but he quickly snapped back to reality. He averted his gaze and, after a while, asked, "Have you decided on what to buy?"
Yun Shifei pulled out a small notebook from her backpack and waved it at Ye Yi. "It’s all written in here."
"That’s good. This way, we won’t forget anything important."
The two of them went to find Xu Yuejiao together.
Xu Yuejiao had juste downstairs when she saw Yun Shifei and Ye Yi standing together. Ye Yi was tall and sturdy, while Yun Shifei was petite and pretty.
They were both dressed simply in white shirts and ck pants.
She couldn’t help but squint her eyes. Hey! She had to admit it—her cousin and this young man actually looked quite well-matched standing together.
Of course, the boy wasn’t as good-looking as Cheng Lie, but Cheng Lie was a bit of a recluse. This one, on the other hand, was healthy and sunny—just the perfect fit.
If Yun Shifei knew what was on Xu Yuejiao’s mind at the moment, she would probably be utterly shocked.
Who knew her cousin was such a flip-flopper? Not long ago, she had been smitten with Cheng Lie. When she said she couldn’t be with Cheng Lie, she was so upset she nearly cried.
But in the blink of an eye, she considered her to be a better match with someone else.
Not far from campus was arge mall.
There were plenty of daily necessities they needed to buy—like bamboo mats, pillows, nkets, wash basins, buckets, and hangers.
After buying everything, Yun Shifei realized just how much stuff there really was.
Luckily, Ye Yi was there. Otherwise, the two girls wouldn’t have been able to carry everything back on their own.
Once everything was moved into the dormitory, Yun Shifei looked at Ye Yi gratefully. "Thank you so much, senior. Let me treat you to a meal."
"No need to trouble yourself."
"It’s no trouble. We were nning to eat anyway."
Xu Yuejiao also chimed in, nodding enthusiastically. "Yeah, yeah. Let’s have a meal together."
Xu Yuejiao had already sized Ye Yi up and felt that this young man was not bad at all. Since Cheng Lie didn’t appreciate what he had—hmph—her cousin might as well find someone new. After all, with her cousin’s looks, there was no shortage of suitors.
Xu Yuejiao felt that Yun Shifei was perfect in every way, except she was too insecure. Clearly someone who hadcked love and care. A little bit of romance would do wonders for her.
Yun Shifei, however, was oblivious to Xu Yuejiao’s matchmaking intentions. She didn’t overthink things and merely regarded Ye Yi as a fellow hometown friend—a senior who took care of her.
They ended up eating at a small restaurant near campus.
It was mid-September, and the weather was still summer-hot. The small eatery was flooded with people, most of whom were students from their school.
As soon as Yun Shifei sat down, she noticed a few nces cast her way, making her feel a bit tense.
Xu Yuejiao teased her, "Our Feifei is truly a beauty—wherever she goes, people can’t help but look. Hey, speaking of which, even before I came to Beijing, I heard there were tons of big stars here and scouts looking for talent. With Feifei’s looks, wouldn’t you be snapped up immediately to be a celebrity?"
By now, Yun Shifei was used to Xu Yuejiao’s teasing. At first, she’d blush, but now she could banter back. "There are already so many stunning stars in the entertainment industry. Someone like me wouldn’t stand out. But Sister Jiaojiao, with your bold and striking beauty, now that’s rare in showbiz."
The two cousins yfully debated, amusing Ye Yi, who was sitting nearby.
He hadn’t expected the seemingly quiet Yun Shifei to be so quick-witted.
Herughter lit up her features, more vibrant and captivating than any celebrity he could think of.
...
"You’re saying you want to pursue Feifei?" It had been a week since the semester started, and Xu Yuejiao was justing back to the dorm after getting her food when she bumped into Ye Yi downstairs.
Ye Yi nodded seriously, "I really like her."
This was a case of love at first sight—the kind that had been haunting his dreams over the past few days.
"So how do you n to pursue her?" Xu Yuejiao hadn’t expected to run into Yun Shifei’s admirer so soon. Although she also thought Yun Shifei and Ye Yi made a good match, this was happening so fast that she wasn’t mentally prepared.
Was this really just a fleeting crush?
"Can I get to know more about her first?" Ye Yi asked Xu Yuejiao. "I just want to understand her better."
Xu Yuejiao studied the boy in front of her and said, "Alright, what do you want to know?"
He had already heard some things from his father. Yun Shifei had gone missing as a child and only returned three years ago. Back then, her grades were poor, but through hard work, she managed to get into this prestigious school.
But that wasn’t enough to truly know her.
Ye Yi figured that, as her cousin and close confidante, Xu Yuejiao must know her well.
His question gave Xu Yuejiao a moment of pause. Where should she begin?
"She loves sweets—candies, cakes, that sort of thing."
Ye Yi nodded.
"She also has a golden retriever—super cute."
"And because of her past experience of being abducted and theck of affection she received, she’s a little insecure. So, if you want to be with her, you mustpliment her often. And you have to love her wholeheartedly—otherwise, I’lle after you."
Ye Yi: "..."
He stared at Xu Yuejiao in shock. What had she just said?
"So, you’re okay with me pursuing her?"
Xu Yuejiao nodded, giving his shoulder a hearty pat like an older brother. "Let me tell you something. I noticed on the first day that you were interested in her. Feifei’s just so lovable. You and her are a perfect match in every way—you’re from simr family backgrounds, you’re in the same school, you’re just one year older than her, and you’re super considerate. Honestly, bro, I support you chasing Feifei."
Xu Yuejiao’s confidence seemed to move Ye Yi, and he felt a strange surge of emotion.
Their rtionship unexpectedly grew closer as Ye Yi replied, "Thank you, sister. I’ll do my best to pursue Shifei, and if she dislikes me, I promise I won’t bother her."
Xu Yuejiao found the boy to be quite sensible, so she gave him some friendly advice. "For your first date, make sure to pick a great dessert shop."
Dessert shop...
Ye Yi frowned slightly. He wasn’t a fan of sweets and had never paid attention to them.
Besides, there were differences between Beijing and South City.
People from South City loved sweets, so dessert shops were everywhere, offering treats developed by the local chefs.
Beijing, however,cked such distinctive shops.
That said, in a city asrge as Beijing, he figured it shouldn’t be too hard to find one.
Back in his dorm, he asked his roommates for rmendations on good dessert shops.
One of his roommates, a self-proimed food enthusiast, immediately raised his hand, "I know one! A couple of weeks ago, a new dessert shop opened downtown. I tried it; it’s pretty good."
Given his roommate’s reputation as the "305 Dormitory Foodie," Ye Yi trusted his rmendation.
