Chapter 327: Chapter 327: Why Don’t You Throw Me Out?

In the dimly lit room, the phone on the bedside table lit up suddenly, apanied by the soft ding of an iing message.
Zimei woke up with a start. She reached out from under the nket to grab her phone, nced at it, and instantly her drowsiness faded.
The people she had dispatched had finally sent news of Gu Moqian’s whereabouts!
Zimei’s face lit up with joy. Without dy, she turned on the light and, not even bothering to put on her shoes, rushed out of the room barefoot.
In the living room, the faint night light filtering in through the window outlined the barely discernible shape of a man sleeping on the sofa.
The closer she got, the softer her footsteps became.
When she stopped in front of the sofa, her chest rising and falling with excitement from her joy-fueled breaths, it still ended up waking the man sleeping there.
Ye Cheng frowned as he sat up. His dark phoenix eyes locked onto her, his voice cold as he asked, "What do you want now?"
That moment of soft-heartedness a few days back had led to Zimei spending a night here. The next morning, she used the excuse of knowing no one in Tokyo and being hindered by herck of Japanese to insist on staying in his apartment.
Last night, Zimei had gotten up repeatedly—iming she needed water, or that her stomach didn’t feel well—all sorts of excuses just to get his attention.
So tonight, Ye Cheng naturally assumed it was another one of her tricks.
Hearing Ye Cheng’s icily indifferent tone, Zimei froze for a second. However, she quickly collected herself and held her phone up to him.
The glow of the screen illuminated his face, making his devilishly striking features even more mesmerizing. When Ye Cheng saw the news about Gu Moqian, the icy expression on his face finally thawed slightly.
He handed the phone back to Zimei, then turned to retrieve his own phone from the side of the sofa. Walking out onto the balcony, he made a call to A Cheng.
His voice was muffled behind the sliding door. Zimei stood rooted to the spot, staring nkly at Ye Cheng’s tall and upright figure silhouetted in the night, motionless.
When Ye Cheng came back, the lights in the room were still off.
The woman stood in the darkness like a statue. Only her burning gaze followed his every movement. That dazed, obsessive stare made him ufortable. He frowned and said coldly, "Go back to bed."
Ye Cheng didn’t wait for her reaction before turning around and preparing to lie back down. But suddenly, a surge of force hit him as Zimei threw herself at him, wrapping him in a tight embrace from behind.
"Let go." Ye Cheng’s voice carried a restrained anger.
"I helped you find Gu Moqian. Can’t you be a little nicer to me?" Zimei clung to him tightly, refusing to let go. She pressed her face to his back, her voice tinged with a hint of pleading, pletely different from the usual sultry demeanor of Boss Zi.
Ye Cheng paused but ultimately pried her hands off him by force. His voice carried an even sharper edge of anger: "The billion you asked for—I’ll transfer it to your ount. Beyond that, don’t even think about getting anything else from me."
His words rang out starkly in the stillness of the night, sharp and deeply wounding.
Zimei froze, her arms wrapped around his waist loosening bit by bit until they finally fell limply to her sides.
Ye Cheng turned and fixed his gaze on her.
Her face was difficult to make out in the darkness, but Ye Cheng could sense an overwhelming sense of dejection radiating from her.
Clenching his teeth, he coldly barked, "Still not leaving?"
In the dark, Zimei suddenlyughed—a tinkling, melodiousugh. "I’m not leaving. I’m staying right here."
After saying that, she strode to the sofa, sat down, crossed her arms over her chest, and propped one leg over the other, ring at him. "What are you going to do? Throw me out?"
"..."
Ye Cheng stood there, nearly speechless with rage.
Forcing himself to calm down, Ye Cheng walked directly into his bedroom without sparing her another nce, shutting the door behind him.
Zimei’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He really left her there without a care? And on top of that, he had taken over *her* bed!
Such an unpredictable move—truly maddening.
