Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Apart from making the decision to leave me on your own, you’re still perfect

Just as Ji Wei hadn’t even had time to feel smug, her entire body was suddenly lifted horizontally into the arms of Gu Moqian. The man’s face was tense, and a stormy gloom loomed between his brows.
Damn it!
Three words popped into Ji Wei’s mind.
Gu Moqian ced her on the bed, bent down, and single-handedly unbuttoned his shirt, his movements oozing deadly sensuality. His other hand slid up under the hem of Ji Wei’s clothes...
Ji Wei screamed in rm, hurriedly reaching out to smack his hand away. However, Gu Moqian had already unbuckled his belt and leaned down over her.
Before the man’s lips could connect with hers, Ji Wei suddenly yelped in pain: "You’re pressing on my foot! My foot hurts!"
Gu Moqian froze, his gaze dropping to trail along her beautiful legs. He saw her bare instep, red and swollen.
"It must’ve been stepped on at the fight ring," Ji Wei added as an afterthought.
Gu Moqian crouched down, gently held her pale, delicate foot in his hand, examined the swelling on her instep, and then got up to fetch some ointment.
The cool sensation swept over her, easing the pain.
Ji Wei watched the man seriously apply the ointment, her heart softening. She couldn’t help but blurt out, "Moqian, except for your tendency to act on your own and leave me behind, you’re really perfect."
Gu Moqian’s lips twitched, and he looked up at her: "I was afraid it would be dangerous for you to follow."
"I know." Ji Wei nodded. "But you can’t just leave me clueless and in the dark like that. You should tell me what’s going on. I’m an adult, I can make my own judgments, can’t I?"
Gu Moqian’s thin lips pressed into a slight line, silent.
He knew Ji Wei was right.
"I know you’re not here for a business deal. Why did you show up at the underground fight ring, and how are you connected to Tokyo’s mafia? Moqian, can you tell me the reason?"
At this point, she wanted to know the truth.
Gu Moqian gazed at her stubborn yet determined expression for a long moment, before putting away the ointment and saying softly, "Fine, I’ll tell you everything you want to know."
When Gu Moqian finally started recounting the series of events that began with the mysterious email, Ji Wei remained silent for a long time.
Especially when Gu Moqian revealed that Ji Chuyang was the mastermind behind the cable car incident, Ji Wei was utterly shocked.
She never would have imagined that the ident had been man-made!
And the perpetrator was none other than that scumbag, Ji Chuyang! Whether in the past life or the present, Ji Chuyang’s cruelty hadn’t changed one bit.
Ji Wei clenched her hands tightly, a surge of strong hatred shing in her eyes.
She absolutely wouldn’t let him get away with it!
Gu Moqian took her hand into his. "Hating someone like him isn’t worth it. Leave it to me. I’ll make him pay the price he deserves."
Ji Wei stared at him for a long while before suddenly wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. "Moqian, no matter what evil spirits or monsters we face in the future, I’ll stand with you to face them together."
He buried his head into the crook of her neck, letting out a low, hoarse hum. The sound was so captivating it felt like she was melting into him.
Just as Gu Moqian was about to take things a step further, Ji Wei suddenly eximed, "Wait, wait!"
His brow arched at her words. "What? Afraid to follow through on those bold words you just said to me while holding your phone?"
Recalling what she’d looked up on Baidu earlier, Ji Wei’s cheeks flushed a deep red. She quickly shook her head. "No! I just suddenly thought of someone—I forgot to say goodbye before leaving. It’s sote now; she must be worried and looking for me."
"Who?" Gu Moqian’s eyes narrowed slightly, a dangerous glint shing in them, clearly misunderstanding the "she" as a "he."
