    “Haha, I’m going to be an uncle!” Gu Kaiughed excitedly. Next to him, Mo Xiuchen frowned and used his hand to block in front of Wen Ran, scolding Gu Kai, “Don’tugh so loudly.”


    “Ranran, how many weeks along are you?”


    Gu Kai gave Mo Xiuchen a look that said ‘if you don’t understand, don’t speak’, but when his gaze turned to Wen Ran, his face brightened with a smile again.


    “About five weeks.”


    Gu Kai said to someone on the other side, “Move over.” He stepped over and sat down right between Wen Jin and Wen Ran.


    Wen Jin red at him and got up to sit on another couch.


    Gu Kai sat down where Wen Jin had been and said gently, “Ranran,e back and live with us; I’ll take good care of you…”


    “Ranran, don’t listen to him.”


    Before Gu Kai could finish, Mo Xiuchen interrupted him. His smile disappeared as he changed the subject, “I just heard from Dad that you’ve been going on blind dates recently. How’s it going? If you find someone suitable, try dating. You’re not getting any younger. Instead of worrying about Ranran all the time, you should care about your own life partner.”


    Mo Xiuchen spoke earnestly, seemingly truly concerned for Gu Kai, which made Wen Jin’s mouth twitch.


    Gu Kai frowned angrily in response but before he could retort, Director Gu, his father, began to speak, “Ah Kai, Xiuchen is right. You and he are the same age, and Xiuchen will be a father in a few months, while you don’t even have a partner. Don’t think I don’t know how you treated those girls before.”


    Towards the end, Director Gu’s expression grew stern and authoritative.


    Gu Kai gave Mo Xiuchen a contemptuous look before answering his father, “Dad, you wanted me to go on blind dates, and I did. As for how I treated them, I would like to make one thing clear.”


    “Hmph, you want to make a statement? Fine, today in front of Xiuchen, Ah Jin, and Ranran, tell us, what is it you want to dere?”


    A slight smirk yed at the corner of Mo Xiuchen’s mouth, clearly taking pleasure in Gu Kai’s predicament.


    Wen Ran could barely contain herughter, while Wen Jin looked at Gu Kai with a sympathetic gaze.


    Gu Kai pursed his lips and lifted his chin proudly, saying, “The women I’ve been set up with are potential life partners, not nannies or hourly workers whom you can dismiss whenever you want. What’s wrong with being strict?”


    “Anything else?”


    Gu Yan gave him a sharp look and picked up his teacup to drink.


    Gu Kai continued, “Dad, next time someone wants to introduce their daughter to me, could you please screen them first? Don’t agree to just any oddballs. After all, I am currently G City’s most eligible bachelor. Having a timid and pretentious woman marry into the Gu Family would be an embarrassment.”


    “Timid and pretentious?”


    Gu Yan narrowed his eyes, his gaze heavy as he watched his son.


    Undeterred, Gu Kai nodded confidently, his brows raised arrogantly, “Right, like the first one who ran to the bathroom to throw up just hearing me talk about surgery. The second one, I told her she was sick, and she tly denied it. As for the third, she looked like I was going to chop off her ear for research when I just wanted to take a look at it, turning pale with fright…”


    Listening to Gu Kai enumerate the failings of his blind dates – how timid and pretentious they were – Wen Ran hung her head shaking her shoulders uncontrobly.


    “The fourth one ate rice one grain at a time, and she wiped her mouth after every bite. Facing such women, I’d rather be dead.”

    Mo Xiuchen nced at Gu Kai and replied unhurriedly.


    Wen Ran looked from Gu Kai to Mo Xiuchen, a touch of confusion appearing between her eyebrows. She wondered why Mo Xiuchen seemed so happy about her brother’s matchmaking situation.


    Gu Yan came over with a thick file and handed it to Mo Xiuchen, saying, “This contains profiles of outstanding girls from various cities that have been selected for Ah Kai. They are all top-notch in terms of family background, education, and character.”


    “Dad, didn’t you say there were only a few the other day?”


    Gu Kai furrowed his brows, looking at the thick document in Mo Xiuchen’s hands,plete with photos and information.


    Gu Yan scoffed, “If I don’t prepare a few more, how can I pick out an excellent one from the unsuitable ones to satisfy you? Ah Kai, if you keep being so picky, I might not just go after unsuitable ones, I’ll have you meet any woman as long as she’s alive and female.”


    “Dad, are you possessed?” Gu Kai yelled, displeased.


    He failed to see the unusual smile the momentarily emerged on the lips of Mo Xiuchen, who was looking down at the file.
