Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Avoiding Suspicion, I Got Married

Xu Xingluo spoke with a light tone and at a slow pace, “Ever since the car ident, I’ve been left with this problem that just can’t be cured! Doctor Qiao, you know I’m a ballet dancer, this greatly impacts my professional career.”

“May I ask when the car ident happened?”

    Qiao Xi had her suspicions.

“It was three months ago,” Xu Xingluo said gently, “Brother Xingzhou hasn’t told you? We were in the ident together.”

Qiao Xi had barely heard Huo Xingzhou mention the ident, and it was even rarer to hear the Xu Family’s name in the vi.

“I’m not very clear on the details.” Qiao Xi said honestly, “You should not being to acupuncture rehabilitation, but rather, you should go to the mental health department or neurology for a check-up. Such conditions are often psychological.”

    ...

“Is that so? I thought since Doctor Qiao is a disciple of the National Doctor, you might have other methods.”

Xu Xingluo looked somewhat despondent, “Since that’s the case, I won’t disturb you any longer.”

She hade merely to probe the truth.

Qiao Xi watched her stand up, her walking posture exceptionally graceful.

She felt indescribable, once thinking Mr. Huo had searched for that term for himself; she hadn’t expected that in that moment, he was thinking of Xu Xingluo.

She was just an ident who had intruded midway, unaware of how many people had been part of his past, nor how splendid and colorful his life had been. She was even less aware of his past rtionships with those brothers and friends.

They were willing to deal with her because of her rtionship with Huo Xingzhou.

Yet, they were genuinely familiar with, and fond of, Xu Xingluo.

    “Next please.”

Qiao Xi pressed the call button.

Xu Xingluo left with a faint smile on her lips. When Huo Sijiao saw her, she gave her a fierce re.

Xu Xingluo didn’t take it to heart, seemingly unaffected.

“Jiaojiao, we are not enemies. Originally, we had the chance to be sisters-inw, and our past rtionship wasn’t bad.”

Huo Sijiao said harshly, “That’s impossible now, I already have a sister-inw.”

Xu Xingluo just smiled kindly and walked away.

    “Miss Xu.”

Seeing her approach, the driver hurriedly opened the car door.

“To Tianyuan Building,” Xu Xingluo said softly.

It was time for her to make a visit.

    “All right.”

The driver closed the door and set off directly for Tianyuan Building.

Xu Xingluo straightened her skirt and applied a very light makeup before getting out of the car. She approached the reception desk and inquired softly, “I’m here to see Chen Xun, we have an appointment.”

The receptionist’s eyes lit up upon seeing her, excitedly asking, “Are you Xu Xingluo?”

    Xu Xingluo nodded slightly.

“I’m a huge fan. I’ll call Assistant Chen right away.”

The receptionist eagerly phoned Chen Xun, who came down shortly after. Seeing Xu Xingluo, he greeted her respectfully, “Miss Xu, wee.”

“Chen Xun, it’s been a long time,” Xu Xingluo said with a smile, “Will it cause you trouble if I came to see you directly?”

Xu Xingluo was still quite familiar with Huo Xingzhou’s people; Assistant Chen Xun happened to be her senior from university, who started working for Huo Xingzhou right after graduating. Now he had be the assistant. Xu Xingluo hadn’t expected that what was once a casual act of kindness would leave her with an ace up her sleeve at a crucial time.

At least with Chen Xun there, Huo Xingzhou wouldn’t kick her out.

    “No.”

“But you still kept a lot from me,” Xu Xingluo said, pretending to be angry, “You even hid the fact that Brother Xingzhou is the President of Tianyuan Group so well.”

Chen Xun apologized, “Actually, I wasn’t in the know. President Huo kept it well-hidden; only the senior executives were aware, I’m just an assistant.”

He simply did as he was told from above.

“I’m not ming you, just joking around.”

Xu Xingluo poked her head in and asked, “Is Brother Xingzhou in the office?”

    “Yes.”

Chen Xun led the way, “The group has been overwhelmed with businesstely, President Huo has been busy dealing with it all.”

Xu Xingluo curiously looked around at the decorations and disys, genuinely feeling the extent of Huo Xingzhou’s capabilities. If only she hadn’t…

But it was all pointless now.

She couldn’t bear to let go.

“President Huo’s office is just ahead.”

“Okay, I can go by myself; you can go ahead with your tasks.”

Xu Xingluo said politely, watching Chen Xun leave before turning her gaze towards the pantry. After a moment’s thought, she went in.

    Ten minutester.

She carried a steaming cup of coffee towards the CEO’s office.

    Knock, knock.

    “Come in.”

The man engrossed in paperwork didn’t even lift his head.

Xu Xingluo slowly approached, a fragrant breeze in her wake.

“President Huo, your coffee. Rose summer, no sugar, no milk,” Xu Xingluo said in an extremely yful tone. “I remember it was your favorite.”

Huo Xingzhou slowly looked up, frowning at her.

“Coffee is harmful to health; I’ve lost my taste for it now.”

Xu Xingluo was saddened, “Brother Xingzhou, I understand you’ve always med me. I don’t expect us to go back to being as close as we once were, but could you perhaps be a little nicer to me? I’m really hurting inside.”

“This isn’t a ce for you.”

Huo Xingzhou pressed the inte, reprimanding coldly, “Chen Xun, do you not wish to keep your job?”

“Brother Xingzhou, it’s my fault! I begged Senior Chen Xun to let me in,” Xu Xingluo quickly grabbed his hand and pressed down on the phone, “Don’t me him, I just missed you too much.”

Huo Xingzhou shook off her hand, wiping it with a tissue, “Are you done speaking?”

Xu Xingluo’s eyes brimmed with tears, “Do you really dislike seeing me that much?”

    “Conflict of interest.”

Huo Xingzhou said coldly, “I’m married.”

“But you were unconscious then; what kind of marriage is that if you had to marry in haste? Did you ever have a wedding ceremony?” Xu Xingluo stood before Huo Xingzhou, vulnerable and falling apart.

She cried as if her heart was breaking.

“We have a registered marriage, recognized byw as husband and wife.”

Xu Xingluo wiped away her tears, pretending to be strong, and looked at him seriously, “I know you still me me. But it wasn’t my choice to leave; my family forced me to go abroad.”

Huo Xingzhou closed the project proposal, looking at her, “What does that have to do with me?”

The depths of his eyes were icy cold, not a hint of warmth to be found.

His gaze at Xu Xingluo was like looking at a stranger.

He stood up, “You should leave now.”

Xu Xingluo sobbed, “The words you broadcasted on the screen on the day Tianyuan Group Building wasunched, weren’t they meant to spite me?”

Huo Xingzhou scoffed, turning to leave.

Xu Xingluo clutched at his sleeve, pleading, “Brother Xingzhou, where are you going?”

“To pick up my wife from work.”

Huo Xingzhou said indifferently, “Please keep your distance from me.”
