Chapter 96

On the way back to the rental apartment, Anya''s expression was bleak.

She nced at Zachary several times, wanting to say something but hesitating.

But when she thought of Molly''s background in the information she had, a sense of unease settled over her.

And so, amidst a swirl of inner conflict, she returned to the rental apartment with him.

A delicious aroma wafted from the kitchen as Zachary unlocked the door, instantly whetting their appetites.

    "Zac, you''re back!"

    "Anya, you''re here again."

Upon hearing the door open, Molly emerged from the kitchen.

She wore an apron and held a spat, clearly in the middle of cooking.

Zachary smiled and said, "You might as well prepare an extra serving from now

on since Anya will be joining us for dinner often."

    Anya surprisingly didn''t retort.

Instead, she stared at Molly with aplex expression, a pang of jealousy tightening her chest.

As the president of Yel Corporation, her status wasn''t low in Yelbric, but facing Molly made her feel utterly inadequate.

This realization left her with an unexinable sense of inferiority and powerlessness.

Molly nodded and chirped, "Zac, Anya, just wait a moment. Dinner will be ready soon!"

A few minutester, four dishes and a soup were on the dining table.

The three sat down, but the atmosphere differed from the previous night.

"Anya, are you worried about something?" Noticing Anya''s silence, Zachary cast her a curious nce.

Molly also looked at Anya, sensing something was off.

"Nothing. I''m just thinking about somepany matters." Anya forced a smile and gave a vague excuse.

Zachary didn''t think much of it.

After dinner, he walked Anya to themunity''s entrance like the night before.

"Zac!" Just before they parted ways, she wanted to say something to him, but the words got stuck in her throat.

"What''s wrong?" he asked with a gentle smile.

"Nothing!" She managed a bitter smile, shook her head, and turned to leave.

"Silly girl!" Zachary scratched his nose, feeling confused by Anya''s behavior.

After Anya left, she didn''t go home but headed straight to the office instead.

Sitting in the executive chair in her office, she logged into Twitter on herputer and opened Molly''s profile again.

She wanted to confirm what she had seen earlier, but her brows furrowed involuntarily as she read.

    "Could it be a mistake?"

Still skeptical, she sent a message to the Twitter friend who shared the information.

However, after sending the message, no response was received.

Frustrated, she decided to call the person instead.

    The call connected almost immediately.

Just as Anya was about to ask her question, an unfamiliar voice came through the speaker.

"Ms. Wayne, there are some people you shouldn''t investigate casually For Mr Lloyd''s sake, we won''t pursue this matter this time. But if it happens again, you''ll face the consequences!"

This was a threat. From the tone, she could sense the murderous intent behind the words.

Just then, a series of beeps sounded.

The call had been abruptly hung up.

Anya felt a chilling sensation wash over her. At that moment, she felt like she had just escaped a disaster.

She had no doubts about the information before.

Anya was perplexed, unable to grasp the true motive behind Molly''s actions.
