They were a man and a woman, alone together. The fact that they had shared a bed was awkward enough. If anything could make things even more awkward, it would be one of them being naked.
At that moment, Zachary felt more stunned than anything else.
"Zac, ording to our agreement, I''m already yours," Molly said, her cheeks flushed red. She nced up at him shyly as she spoke.
Zachary forced himself to suppress his impulses and quickly climbed out of bed. He threw on his loungewear and walked toward the door.
"Molly, don''t do this again," he warned. With that, he opened the door and walked out without looking back.
After he left, Molly remained on the bed. She sat up slowly with a faint, nearly imperceptible smile on her lips.
Ten minutester, she walked out of the room.
Immediately, she was greeted by the sight of Zachary cooking in the kitchen.
Though he heard her, he didn''t turn around. The situation earlier had left him feeling too awkward. He wasn''t sure how to face her.
When breakfast was ready, he called her over to eat.
The two sat across from each other and exchanged silent nces. They both understood it was best not to bring up what had just happened.
Zachary quickly finished his breakfast and was about to return to his room to resume his work.
Just then, Molly asked, "Zac, are you repulsed by me?"
He froze for a moment, surprised by her question. "Why would you say that?" he asked in confusion.
"You said I was responsible for all meals, but-" she stuttered. Her eyes started to well up with tears as she spoke.
"Don''t overthink it. It just slipped my
won''t''s all. This is thest time. I
won''t cook again," he replied
ver
awkwardly.
He had forgotten what he had said yesterday because he was too distracted by the events of the morning.
He hadn''t realized how his thoughtless action would affect her.
"Okay." She nodded at his reply. She looked up and gave him a radiant smile.
Her smile was warm and bright. With the remnants of her tears in her eyes, she looked even more captivating.
Zachary felt his heart race wildly. He mumbled a vague response and fled back to his room.
Back in his room, he tried to focus on the documents he needed to review. But as he worked, his mind
the drifting back to the events of
that morning.
Molly''s blushing cheeks and her sultry words reyed in his head again and again.
"Damn it!" he cursed.
"Zachary, what''s wrong with you? She''s been through so much and here you are, thinking about her like that!" he scolded himself, patting his forehead as an attempt to shake off his inappropriate thoughts,
He was distracted for the whole morning.
As noon approached, a knock sounded at his door.
At the same time, Molly''s soft voice came from the other side.
"Zac, it''s time for lunch," she called out.
He answered calmly, trying to keep hisposure. Then, he left his room.
On the dining table, lunch was served. The dishes were all beautifully presented and looked delicious.
