Chapter 25

Zachary''s hand trembled as he reached out to take the phone and scroll through the most recent posts.

"I don''t need you to thank me for telling you this, but the least you can do is drink with me until we''re satisfied, right? Come on. Let''s drink together!"

Ellen kept pouring drinks for Zachary and clinking sses with him. They kept knocking back drinks the whole time without eating the food on the table.

After an hour, Zachary felt a splitting headache. However, he hadn''t passed out from drinking yet.

The two had already finished off a case of beer.

The floor was littered with empty bottles, yet Zachary had no intention of stopping.

Ellen asked the owner to bring over another case of beer, and they continued drinking.

Perhaps the alcohol was getting into him, as Zachary started shedding tears as he drank.

"I''m such an idiot. She''s been lying to me from the very beginning..."

After muttering, he downed the beer in his ss in one gulp.

"You really are an idiot. You''ve been someone''s stand-in for five years without even realizing it. I was telling the truth back then, but you thought I was just stirring up trouble!" Ellen nodded in agreement.

"I''m sorry for misunderstanding you! I''ll make it up to you with this drink!"

Zachary gave a bitter smile and gulped down another ss of beer.

Ellen opposed, "One ss isn''t enough! I told you the truth, yet you betrayed me, which caused me to endure a serious scolding from Wendy! It''ll take at least three sses of beer for me to forgive you!"

    "Fine. Three sses it is!"

Zachary wanted to let loose, so he kept drinking.

After three sses of beer, his head felt even foggier.

"Zachary, after everything Wendy had done to you, haven''t you considered getting back at her?"

    Ellen showed a mischievous smile.

Zachary froze for a moment before he managed to snap out of it. Then, he mumbled, "Get back at her? How?"

"Wendy will attend a ss reunion the day after tomorrow. If nothing changes, she''ll probably bring Ethan along!"

Excitement gleamed in Ellen''s eyes as she stared at Zachary. She asked solemnly, "Do you want her to have a taste of getting betrayed?"

    "I do!"

A trace of hatred shed in Zachary''s eyes. His love for Wendy had now turned into hate.

Before knowing the truth, he didn''t actually hate Wendy.

After all, they had developed a bond in their five years of marriage. Even if they were to separate or divorce, he would have only felt disappointment and heartbreak.

But the truth was that Wendy had been lying to him for five years.

This was infidelity, and the five years he once thought was beautiful had now been tainted.

With a tone full of temptation, Ellen suggested, "Come with me to the ss reunion and pretend to be my boyfriend the day after tomorrow, They like sneaking around behind our backs, right? Then, let''s give them something out in the open!" Cóntent

Zachary''s eyes lit up. After a brief moment of thought, he nodded and agreed. "Alright!"

Why should he be the only one suffering in their marriage? Wendy was the one who was unfaithful, so why should he feel sad or upset over a woman who had deceived and betrayed him?

"I have both wealth and looks. Wendy Stewart, what makes you think my life will

be miserable after leaving you? What makes you think you''ll be better off without

    me?

"Since that''s the case, just you wait and see. I''ll crush all your arrogance beneath my feet. I''ll show you that everything you pride yourself on is something that I can easily obtain. I''ll make sure you regret every choice you''ve ever made!"

Zachary gritted his teeth as he swore. His eyes gleamed with a chilling coldness.

His calm and reserved demeanor was gone. Now, his demeanor was sharp and intense.
