Chapter 256

"I can let you go," Lucas said with a faint smile, signaling to the two bodyguards. "Ms. Harper said she knows she was wrong. Let her go."

Hearing his words, Elena finally breathed a sigh of relief. She raised her hands toward the two bodyguards who were approaching. "Mr. Schneider said to let me go. Hurry up and untie me."

But the bodyguards simply smiled at her. "Ms. Harper, we''re letting you go. Go on. Down you go."

And with that, they shoved her.

Elena felt herself being hurled off the rooftop.

The sudden sensation of weightlessness, bined with the cruel hope she had just been given, pletely shattered her. As she plummeted, sheer terror overtook her, pushing out all fear of Lucas. Something far worse had consumed her.

Just as she was certain she was about to die, her fall came to an abrupt halt.

She felt a sharp tug at her ankle, and only then did she realize there was a rope tied around it.

"Lucas!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the entire building. "You patheticpdog! If I ever get the chance, I swear I''ll kill you! I''ll kill you!"

Her furious roars faded as unconsciousness imed her.

When Elena woke up again, someone was yanking violently at her hair.

"Who the hell" Elena snapped impatiently.

She opened her eyes, and the sight before her nearly made her pass out again. She waspletely naked. And so was the man beside her-Wayne, the executive from Hastings Group.

The one pulling at her hair was arge, broad-shouldered woman whose face was contorted in fury. She had Elena''s hair in a death grip, and she was pping Elena @cross the face again and again.

"You little homewrecker! How dare you seduce my husband? Do you know who I am? Today, I''ll teach you a lesson so that you won''t dare try this again!"

The sound of ps echoed through the room. Elena was still dazed when she felt the stinging pain blooming across her face.

"Let me go! Let me go!" she shrieked, struggling desperately against Wayne''s

wife. Butpared to the enraged woman, she was powerless.

"I''ll call the police!" Elena screamed using every ounce of strength she had to shove Wayne''s wife away.

    Hearing this absurd threat, the

woman burst intoughter. "Call the police? Go ahead! Let''s see what they have to say about you, you little whore I''ve seen plenty of sluts4like you. Call the cops. Let''s see who they''ll arrest first—you or me."

She jabbed a finger at Elena''s forehead, her words dripping with contempt.

And she wasn''t alone. She had brought an entire entourage with her, and her shouts had drawn even more people over.

Panicking, Elena grabbed a nket to cover herself-only for Wayne''s wife to rip it away in one swift motion.

"If you have the guts to be a whore, don''t be afraid of being seen!"

Her voice rang out through the corridor, drawing more onlookers. Curious guests from nearby rooms poked their heads in to watch the spectacle unfold.

Elena burned with humiliation and fury. Meanwhile, Wayne had already dressed himself. He stood aside as if none of this concerned him.

As the crowd thickened, Elena scrambled to crawl under the bed, desperate to hide.

"Let me see! Let me see!"

More people pushed their way into the room. Elena lifted her head, and at the sight of the people who had just walked in, her vision went dark.
