"We''ve already contacted Silverline Group. This is yourst chance," Oliver said sternly. "If you refuse to admit it, we''ll ask Silverline Group to identify the culprit."
At those words, I saw a flicker of panic on Samson''s face, but he quicklyposed himself.
After just being deceived once, he wasn''t going to fall for it again. After all, if Silverline Group admitted to colluding with him, they would also be held ountable for corporate espionage.
Even I found it hard to believe. I didn''t think anypany would openly admit to being thieves, but at the same time, I hadplete faith in Alex''s ability.
And sure enough, the next moment, Alex pulled out his phone and initiated a video call.
The call connected, and on the screen appeared the president of Silverline Group. "Yes, the project proposal was indeed obtained through our collusion with Samson."
Samson''s face turned ashen.
"I knew Samson needed money, and I really wanted to secure this project. So, I gave him 50 thousand dors to buy Hastings Group''s proposal. But in the end, Hastings Group still won."
Samson was speechless as he copsed onto the floor in defeat.
"Mr. Hastings, you promised to help us get through this crisis. Please don''t go back on your word," the president from Silverline Group pleaded.
Alex ended the call without hesitation.
"Do you have anything else to say?" Oliver looked at Samson.
"I refuse to ept this!" Samson suddenly twisted his face in anger and lunged toward me.
I flinched and was about to dodge when a strong hand suddenly pulled me behind.
It was Alex. He stepped in front of me and red at Samson icily. "What do you think you''re doing?"
Seeing Alex standing between us, Samson hesitated and stopped in his tracks, his frustration boiling over as he screamed, "I won''t ept this! This whole project was just a training exercise for Serena!"
I was stunned by his outburst and stared at him in confusion.
"She didn''t evene up with n B herself! You deliberately made her stand out Samson said in a voicez filled with indignation. The way he said it sounded so convincing that the surrounding colleagues started looking at me with suspicion.
"This project is the first of its kindbining new energy with the inte. If Serena didn''te up with n B, then where did ite from?" Patricia stepped forward, pressing Samson.
"It was Mr. Hastings!" Samson insisted. "Every time we worked overtime, he stayedte at the office. But on nights when we didn''t stayte, he left on time. Wasn''t he clearly waiting for Serena?"
I widened my eyes in shock. I hadn''t known about any of this.
But it wasn''t the time to dwell on that now. I turned to Samson with a smirk. "If Mr. Hastings had given me n B, how could he be sure it would even be useful? How could he predict I''d stand out because of it?"
"I..." Samson faltered.
I stepped forward, unyielding. "Don''t forget that the only reason n B was used
at all was because you leaked n A. Before that, no one expected you to betray thepany."
Samson''s gaze darted away anxiously. His confidence had crumbled long ago, leaving only his stubborn words.
Alex kept me behind him and said coldly, "A multi-million-dor
coboration isn''t something thepany would use as a training exercise for anyone. The reason
Serena was entrusted with it is
because she has the skill and the ability."
The facts were undeniable, and with Alex himself speaking, no one dared to challenge him.
"Samson, you graduated from St. Gabriel University-one of the top universities in the country," Oliver said as he stepped forward. "For this project Patricia was personally chosen by Serena. You, on the other hand, were my selection.
"I saw your credentials and admired your talent, which was why I wanted to give
you an opportunity."
