After what L said, Justin seemed to re up in anger. "What kind of logic is that? Just because there have been scandals before doesn''t mean we can just let the university''s reputation rot!"
L said, "But if Serena reports this to the police and the truthes out, wouldn''t that clear her name?"
Justin''s anger seemed to be ignited even further. He red at L and said, "This matter will only be handled ording to what I said. I''m warning you, if you keep making a scene, I''ll punish you as well."
L was about to retort when I quickly grabbed her arm.
I was already in a difficult situation. I couldn''t drag L down with me.
"I''ll figure it out," I said, holding onto L tightly to stop her from speaking.
Peter finally stepped forward. "If you really can''t resolve this, then bring your guardian in. We can discuss the situation together."
I nodded. Even though I was unhappy about the situation, I still dragged L out after expressing my thanks.
"Serena, Justin is clearly abusing his power," L said angrily.
I understood that very well, but I had no choice but to swallow my pride since he held all the power here. After all, I couldn''t let L get dragged into this.
L saw how silent I was and sighed. "What are you going to do now? Why don''t you give Alex a call? Let him help you."
L sneered, "Justin loves to suck up to the rich and powerful while trampling on the weak. If Alex shows up, I guarantee he''ll start groveling before you."
I was very against that idea.
First of all, I didn''t want to trouble Alex with everything. Secondly, I really didn''t want Alex to know about the situation I was in. I didn''t want him to see me in such a sorry state.
I couldn''t even exin why I felt that way.
I lowered my head and said, "Let me handle this myself first. If I really can''t deal with it, then we''ll talk about it."
"So, what''s your n?" L had an expression of worry and concern.
"I''ll start by asking the restaurant to see if they have any surveince footage," I replied.
L responded, "I''ll go with you."
I nodded.
At the restaurant, the staff member pointed out the cameras and
l.ne
apologized, "I''m sorry, miss. None of the
the cameras happen to be filming
that table."
Sure enough, none of the surveince cameras faced the table Julian and I had been sitting at.
"In that case, could you help me find any of the diners who were sitting near us?" I pleaded.
But the staff member replied, "I''m
ination on our guests whet
sorry, miss. We can''t disclose appet
it
dharm them."
Frowning, I looked at the staff. "What do you mean?"
The staff member shrugged slightly, but the smile on their face was one of mockery. "The matter has been causing such a stir. Anyone who steps forward to help you might find themselves being attacked by public opinion. How are we supposed to keep our business running if we
expose our guests to that?"
My heart sank. "Has it be hard to even find someone to tell the truth in today''s society?"
L sighed. "There''s no surveince footage and no eyewitnesses. Serena, what do we do now?"
