Chapter 574: Chapter 383: Husband, Sorry, You’ve Worked Hard!_2
“Also, from my personal perspective, I greatly appreciate your trust in giving Nanxi over to me. I’ve always wanted to transform this gratitude into concrete action, but I wasn’t sure how! Money has never mattered much to me, but it’s currently the only way I can express my gratitude. So please, don’t reject my offer! Furthermore, regarding Nanxi, I, Lu Yinchu, guarantee with a man’s dignity, I will treat her well, make her happy, and will not let down the trust you’ve ced in me!”
Liang Youquan gazed earnestly at the thirty-two year old young man in front of him, sighing inwardly. This man’s sincerity shone brightly, there was no need for guarantees.
How fortunate his niece was to have such a man devoted to her. Wouldn’t his sister and brother-inw be relieved if they knew?
…
Everything went as smoothly as Lu Yinchu had anticipated.
Liang Youquan returned home and sessfully persuaded his elderly mother to relocate. Although Liang’s mother had lived in H City for over twenty years, she never quite warmed up to the ce. So for her, it didn’t much matter where she resided. Moreover, she didn’t want to be a burden to her younger family members in her old age, so she agreed rather simply.
Xu Mei was somewhat ufortable with the change. She was used to an old house and found such a ceforting. The news of moving into arge vi was a bit unsettling.
However, considering that the elderlydy’s health was not great and the essibility issues with their current residence on West Street, coupled with Xu Mei’s job, left the olddy mostly confined upstairs with no one to look after her. But knowing that the vi district had arranged for people to care for the elderly, and it even had a small yard where she could take a walk and enjoy the sun, they concluded it should befortable!
By the time Nanxi found out about this, it was already decided. Everyone at the Liang family had almost unanimously agreed to move—there was no point in protesting or causing a scene at this point.
However, she made another decision—to live there with the Liang family for a few days. She wanted to see, firsthand, if her grandmother was struggling to adapt, or showed any signs of being “forced.” Lu Yinchu instantly felt like he had shot himself in the foot.
Since the vi was fully equipped and the staff that Lu Yinchu had arranged were efficient, the Liang family set in motion for the move even before others in the district had moved in.
On August 26, with perfect weather, the Liang family moved.
Nanxi was busy helping the Liang family pack from early morning. As she had decided to move with them, she had to bring some things from Shuicheng Residential District. She called Lu Yinchu, instructing him to pack her things and bring them over at night. Her detailed list of things to bring reflected the seriousness with which she nned to live with the Liang family at the vi district.
Two servants were arranged in the vi district, one in charge of cleaning and cooking, and the other mainly looking after her grandmother. Grandma had never been cared for like this before, and found it a little difficult to adjust initially. But the people Lu Yinchu had chosen were indeed very reliable, and adjusted well to her needs, so she soon adapted.
At eight in the evening when Lu Yinchu arrived, the Liang family members were still busy unpacking. Nanxi was in the living room, chatting with grandma.
Seeing Lu Yinchu walk in carrying a small suitcase, Nanxi frowned—why was the suitcase so small?
Lu Yinchu greeted grandma and chatted with her for a while, asking if she wasfortable, if she needed anything, and whether the servants were attentive. Hearing this, Grandma was pleased and praised Nanxi for choosing such a good man.
It wasn’t until a servant was free that Nanxi was able to pull Lu Yinchu into a room. As soon as she closed the door, she asked, “Are you sure you brought everything I asked for?”
“We’re only staying for a couple of days before I take you home—why bring so much?,” he replied, pulling her towards him and wrapping his arms around her waist. “What, nning on a long stay here?”
Nanxi blushes, pushing him back, “Not for long… but of course I can’t see everything in just two days!”
“Then how long do you n to stay?”
“At least a month!” dered Nanxi.
The man’s brows furrowed, “No! That’s too long!”
Nanxi grumbled, “Lu Yinchu, it’s only a month. Don’t be so petty! You know, my grandmother and uncle are cooperating with you in moving here, but they’ve lived in the old district for nearly twenty years. Can they adapt to a new ce so suddenly? And since my cousin had that incident, my grandmother is in a period of grief. I need to be there for her!”
“Alright!” Lu Yinchu conceded, kissing her lips lightly and pulling her closer. “Then I’ll move in too, and we’ll live together!”
“No, no! This room is for my cousin and me, what are you doing here?” Nanxi rejected the idea, as it felt a bit odd for the couple to move in together.
“As far as I know, there is another guest room. We can stay there, and leave this room to your cousin.” Not wanting to argue further, Lu Yinchu leaned over to nip at her neck, whispering in his charming voice, “I’ve missed you…”
“Lu Yinchu…” Nanxi squirmed, feeling a tingle at her neck and shoulders.
She lifted her head to say something, but his lips met hers, “Nanxi, I needpany too. I’ve been so tired recently.”
The man’s eyes were dark and deep, and there was a hint of bewitching mystery in them. There even seemed to be a touch of sadness!
Nanxi was taken aback. Over the past week, she had been with her uncle, grandmother, and cousin. She hadn’t seen much of Lu Yinchu.
Throughout this week, Lu Yinchu was very busy. They didn’t even get to see each other often. In the past, even when Lu Yinchu was busy, he still found time for her. So, the current situation only meant he was extremely busy and very tired!
Feeling a bit sorry for him, Nanxi reached out to cradle his neck and gave him a tender kiss on the lips, “I’m sorry, husband. You’ve worked hard!”
