    Hayley turned to face me and said with excitement, "Ms. Southwell just mentioned it, right? Johnny will be there too! I haven''t seen him in so long, and I really want to catch up!"


    I remembered what my mother had said earlier. If she found out that Johnny, the person she''d always wanted to get close to, was Hayley''s godfather, I could only imagine her reaction. It would be a sight to behold!

    I nodded, feeling all the anxiety I''d been carrying dissolve.


    "I understand. Don''t worry. You''re the Alpha of the Midnight Pack, after all. It''s only natural that your mom sees me as an Omega and thinks I''m not good enough for you. But I believe, as long as we love each other, nothing else matters."
